We just return from a week cruise on the Harmony of the Seas 2 weeks ago. We paid $101.61 for the Voom package mentioned in heading above.

We are going on another cruise in a few months on a small ship out of Tampa and for the same exact package it now costs $203.92. It's $25.49

a day where we just paid $14.52 a day...and we are basically going to the same ports. I just received an email this morning saying this Voom package

was up to 50% off. I called Royal to find out why the price was so much higher. The agent said she was showing it's $23.99 a day for a total of $167.93.

I don't understand why there are different prices between ships, email "discount" prices, and what agents have.  I just looked up when I purchased the Harmony's Voom package and it's almost the same time between sailings so it's not a last minute price. I thought if you booked earlier it would be cheaper...

We are Emerald status and will be reaching Diamond status later this year. I find this extremely frustrating and almost dishonest. They make you have to keep checking

the prices to see if they come down and then you have to call them to get the cheaper price (hopefully, that will happen). It wastes their time and mine to have to do that.

We also have a on board credit but she said she didn't see it so I had to pay with a credit card.

IMO, you have some people that will make a purchase at whatever price and never look back.  And then you have people that will continually seek out the best price.  Prices fluctuate by supply and demand and will never be the same across the fleet.  You just learn over time to be diligent and check for price savings.  If consumers are willing to purchase something at a higher price, you can't blame the company for making the sale.  I get the frustration but it's just part of the game.  The price point I aim for with Voom is $10 or less per device otherwise I feel like I'm overpaying.

Royal's IT at its finest? They had told me at Terminal A a couple of weeks ago, that if you had completed the check-in process on the app. That you would have expedited arrival. Obviously, it isn't working properly.

Even so, there's currently no guarantee of getting it

  3. The only consistency see I've been able to determine, from asking other passengers, is that its only when scanning passports.  When I did our check-in only my wife and older daughter have their passports and were the only 2 of the 6 of us that got Expedited Arrival.  I haven't found anyone yet that has gotten it by using only a  birth certificate.

So for a party of 5 sharing a suite (split into two reservation numbers because the maximum number of people RCCL could put on one confirmation is 4 people) .. if I purchase the pkg in my name .. will we get all photos that any of the 5 of us are in or will single photos of my SIL be left out because she has her own confirmation number for our suite?  Would like to

purchase pre-cruise to save a little money but hoping that we will get photos of all 5 of us in the suite

Since they ask for the stateroom number, you'll more than likely get them.  It seems that many photos that aren't supposed to be including are being including simply by giving the same stateroom number when asked.  It is supposed to include members of the purchasing cabin but as @Biker19 suggests, I would confirm with the photo people.

Hi Guys, i was thinking of buying a couple things on cruise planners but not sure if its a better deal to buy onboard:

Cafe Select Coffee Card (its $35 Dollars on Cruise Planners)

Evian Water ($25 for 12 bottles of 1L)

    Couple Spa ($239)

    Thanks for the help!

The coffee card and Evian Water are the same prices onboard as in cruise planner.  I know the spa prices can be higher unless you catch them running a special; which is not always guaranteed to work with your scheduled activities.

Unfortunately not. Many cases reported on here that when with linking the ex still kept the higher status. Royal seems reluctant to demote anyone.

I would have thought they'd treat the ex-significant other the way they treat the children after turning 18.

It's been a couple years since we did this, but she just called with both of our C&A numbers and gave them my address (that she lived at) and they did it. It was almost too easy. I always wonder what they do in the case of a breakup or remarriage...

Even though the status are linked each person still obtains their own points.  So in a case of separation the other person would only ascertain the status that their points equate to.

Resistant to spills, but definitely not leak- nor spill-proof. For example, I would not fill the souvenir cup and then put it into a tote or backpack to carry around with me all day (e.g. when going ashore), even if you try to keep it upright.

Yep... I decided to bring it with me to one of the kids soccer games so I filled it but we didn't even make it out of the driveway before i noticed liquid coming out..  I don't remember it spilling so easily while onboard though.

So is it fair to say that gone are the days of viewing the photos and taking them home with you?  I haven't cruised in years but I loved that whole concept.  I don't know that I want a package.  I would like to be able to look daily, pick what I want and ask them to print them for me.  I guess that is no longer an option.

You can view them through kiosk they have setup.  But if you end up buying 10 photos onboard, you would be better off just buying the package pre-cruise for less.

  10. There have numerous reports from passengers being able to reuse them and just as many reporting that they have not been told they cannot.  It seems to vary from ship to ship and by sailing to sailing.  They will either reprogram your existing WOW band or switch it out for another one.  I don't know if this has always been the case but It is listed in their policy that they are NOT to be reused; so I figure it's just a matter of time before it's enforced across the fleet.  Just keep in mind that they may not do either and make you repurchase if you still want one.

It's been a few years since we last cruised (dad passed away, so we lost our zest for a bit), and on our last few cruises we didn't buy any photos.  We bought them when I was a kid since cruising was new to us then.  I wasn't sure how they did things now.

During our last sailing the photo people told us they are going to start not printing photos unless requested.  Based on what I've been seeing in cruise planner, they may stop offering a printed package option.  If you can capitalize on an all inclusive package at a fair price, based on them selling individuals for $19.99 each, that would be the way to go.

I wanted to know if you get the prints right away, or if you pick them up, or if they're sent to you.

They don't send them to you and you'd have to pick them up during the hours the photo place is open. I can't see it taking that long to print them out but I know it isn't right away because they tell you to come back. They told us to come back in a couple of hours

So, it's unlimited then?  Is there anywhere that says that?  When I click on the package to see a description it doesn't specify.

I don't know what wording is in your planner but mine says Photo Package: All Digital.  If it doesn't specify an amount of photos (ie 10 for $149) then it's unlimited.

Do they still do a boarding photo for the group?  The last time we cruised, they had people line-up and block the backdrop so they didn't do it.

Also, the last time we actually bought photos, was back in the day when they were all printed and hung on the walls.  We would pick what we wanted and bring them to the cashier.  How do you do it now?  I assume it's through the kiosks, but how/when do you get the photos?

If you purchase the digital package you are given a link to download them.

Although not new to cruising, this will be the first time we will have our grandchildren with us. I was wondering if there is a kids menu in the main dining room.  Thanks in advance.

If the ship you are sailing on has the app, the menus will be listed.  It may very by ship but I remember their options were Spaghetti, Burgers, Grilled Cheese, Pizza, Chicken Fingers, Grilled Chicken or Steak & Chicken Noodle Soup for entrees.  I don't recall what they offered for appetizers or desserts

I do!  I figured out how to make a payment on it though. If I go to the generic make a payment spot I'm able to enter the booking number, then the balance comes up. So, no secret santa, lol.   Just weird how on the planner it said I had no balance!

I haven't made one payment for my September 2020 cruise and it says no balance due.....I would love for that glitch to stick
