We stayed in #6060 2 months ago on the Venus. Although we loved the proximity to the stairs and elevators and only rarely heard noise from either, there was quite a bit of noise coming from above particularly during the night and early morning hours. Perhaps it was the public deck to which Clay was referring?

I really don't know as I never looked. I really thought there was a good chance we would have been added to this excursion since we had good luck being added to an excursion that was sold out on our Viking cruise last year.

We were on the British Isles Explorer cruise last month in a DV2. We were on a waiting list for the London Monuments excursion and unfortunately never were added to it. We did very much enjoy Greenwich though. You will love this cruise!

We are also on this cruise and Oslo pre extension! My understanding is that Viking takes your luggage from the hotel in Oslo to the ship. According to our Viking agent the usual arrival time in Bergen on the train is approximately 5pm. The transfer from the station to the cruise ship is only about 10 minutes. Please correct me if I am mistaken on any of this information if you have been on this itinerary. Looking forward to meeting you!

Is anyone else having trouble logging into MVJ this afternoon?I get a screen that has a wheel going around continuously or a screen saying they are having an issue retrieving my booking and to sign out and log in again which takes me to the screen with the spinning wheel.

We are considering using Luggage Forward for 1 of our suitcases. We have a pre trip extension in Oslo, taking the train to Bergen. Would it be better to have our luggage shipped to the hotel in Oslo or the ship in Bergen? Trying to weigh the pros and cons of both. Has anyone used a luggage shipping service that they preferred other than Luggage Forward? Thanks!

We did the included excursions in Split-very good-, Corfu-would not do that one again. Would just use the Viking shuttle. It drops you off right outside the fort and Old Town. We also did the included in Monaco-very good-, and Marseille. Would replace the Marseile excursion with one outside of the city if any appeal to you. Loved this cruise! Enjoy!

Has anyone done the Britain at War excursion at the Dover stop on the British Isles Explorer cruise? We are trying to decide between that and going into Canterbury.

I read that it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to Gatwick airport from Greenwich. Does that sound correct? We will be using a Viking transfer and our flight is scheduled to leave around 12:15 PM on a Saturday in late June.

I hope they have the pistachio buns on Venus. My husband absolutely loved them when we were on the Sea in May. I think it may be one of the reason I was able to convince him to sign up for another cruise lol

If you have dinner in the World Cafe following an excursion and are dressed casually,perhaps in Jeans, should you change into dressier attire before going to the Star theater,Explorer lounge etc?

Did anyone have any favorite excursions,included or independent, that you enjoyed on the BIE cruise? Were there any excursions you wished you had not booked? We're not going until next June but never too early to plan!

My favorite splurge breakfast is a pistachio bun at the Living Room. So good! The berries with mascarpone with an herb omelette is my favorite healthy breakfast Cannot wait for my next Viking cruise to have them both again.

We went on our first Viking cruise in May and absolutely loved it. We would find it very difficult to switch to another line now. Most of our meals were wonderful,service was very good and we even liked our beds! We did a mix of included and paid excursions and enjoyed them all. Our next Viking cruise is in June of next year and I wish it were sooner.

So sorry to hear about your sprained knee,Twitchly. Hope it doesn't prevent you from missing too many excursions. I am enjoying your posts so much! We're taking this cruise in June and your posts are very informative. Very impressive that you packed everything in 2 carry ons! Still trying to wrap my mind around how to do that! The Restaurant was open for breakfast every day except the last day of our cruise in May.

There was no sushi for lunch on out cruise last month.I did have baked salmon and grilled shrimp there for lunch though
