  1. Thanks we are on the Sam itinerary January 6th 2024. First time on the Escape, but Sailed many times on NCL. We have a 2 Bedroom Haven Suite and will also hopefully do a Live Review as well.
  2. The Drink Tax like others have said will be applied when still in US Waters. So sailing out of Miami, Port Canaveral, and Port Everglades you will be taxed until you hit International Waters. Doesn't take long to get out there but if you board at noon anticipate about 70 cents for each drink. Now sailing out of new orleans it take 6 to 8 hours to hit international waters, noon till around midnight.
  3. Always fun receiving the luggage tags in the mail, we usually receive them about a month out.
  4. Wife and I also pack early as hell lol! We leave on January 5th for our cruise on the Escape on the 6th out of Port Canaveral. We start getting all our stuff out at least a month out lol. This cruise once again we have Booked the Haven and we have the 2 bedroom suite with another couple! Their first time in the Haven it’s our 5th. Pack early and let the excitement build
  5. The Haven is not adults only. The Outdoor Sundeck in the Haven is 16 and over. On the Joy in April there was an adults only pool on the pool deck and the lifeguard actually enforced it. Breakaway and Breakaway Plus ships do not have a adults only solarium area like RCCL
  6. I thought the “Sailaway cabin category was the cruise with no perks? Am I wrong
  7. Every port is different, New Orleans for example in my opinion is the worst. Terminal is small and fills up very fast and if the debark is delayed at all you will be waiting in line outside the terminal. Miami is in my opinion the best. Cruise several lines out of Miami and fast and easy to get through as the terminals are much larger. we are out of port Canaveral in January on the escape in the Haven and I like the seperate haven entrance for this terminal
  8. When I worked on Cruises we loved Dead Heads! Gave the crew time to relax a bit but also gave us time to get things done without having any guests on board. I was on the last sailing of the Norwegian Crown before it was sold to Fred Olson Cruise Lines, and that last dead head was a huge party!
  9. Thanks, I have already checked the port schedule and that Friday there are 5 ships leaving, Starting as early as 3:30pm. After a 7.5 hour drive from Charlotte NC, we will enjoy some food and drinks to officially kick off our vacations. 60 days till we leave for Port Canaveral
  10. Late no problem and most likely early no problem, but sometimes the agent at the terminal entrance will check the time and turn you away. But honestly out of Miami I have never seen this, New Orleans on the other hand have seen this several times because the terminal is very small
  11. Yup Same Here! Wife and I pay for the Yacht Club as well as the Haven on NCL. Want to enjoy the perks and the space, Pony up the dough like the rest of us!
  12. So, We are Sailing out on the Escape on January 6th but driving in on Friday the 5th. Wife and I along with another couple that are cruising with us would like to find a nice Bar/Restaurant where we can sit out on the deck enjoy some drinks and maybe food as well while the ships sail out of Port Canaveral. I am sure this has been asked before but would love some recommendations. Thanks.
  13. I got 4 times points last year since i was sailing in the Haven!
  14. When I worked on board NCL from 2002 to 2007, Smaller Ships had Production Shows by " NCL Productions" and the larger ships had " The Jean Ann Ryan company". They were typical Cruise ship Style Productions shows for that time period and I am sure cost way less then Certain Main Shows on Current Ships. On a 7 day run, there would be 3 production shows the rest were Guest Entertainers from Comedians, Vocalists, Magicians and other Prop Comedy Acts. I for one would love to see more Guests Entertainers.
  15. The Deluxe Owners on the Epic does not have a second Bedroom, The escape does. So we decided to Keep the 2 Bedroom on the Escape. The other couple we are going with are very close friends so we are simply gonna switch out the master a few days with them and I am sure we will all use the Master Bath!
  16. Group of Us are on the Escape On January 6th out of Port Canaveral. Thanks again for a great review. Will also be doing a live review starting with our trip from Charlotte NC to Port Canaveral.
  17. So, If you are not booked in the Yacht club they are not allowed in or use the Facilities. May I ask what you would like to bring them in for?
  18. I am looking at this tour but without the Ziplining. Anyone know if they are jumping into the water or still using the bridges and stairs.
  19. The last 5 NCL Cruises we have been on they did not make you sign anything.
  20. No, I worked on the Drram when it was out of New Orleans, and also when it did alaska
  21. Started off As Cruise Staff eventually making my way up to Cruise Director.
  22. You can book in advance or if they have availability you can do it onsite.
  23. ooops, missed that. Yea my guess they booked before the Service charge increase
