I've done a lot of research since we are going to be cruising from Port Everglades too. Price vs quality is very disappointing. If one wants to save money, it may take time to do the research and being flexible. I've chosen to stay slightly farther away from the port and rely on Uber/Lyft rather on hotel's shuttle.

Thank you, I would think so too, but curios why $360 instead of $400 for 10 days? I definitely won't be upgrading before cruising, but since I am a planner, I am just researching at this point. My husband likes his Cab, but the one with Plus package is undrinkable 😀, while the one with Premier should work and in fact he has tried before. Last time he just switched from wine to Hennessy VS, but he still prefers wine....of course paying for upgraded wine could be significantly cheaper 😄.

That explains why for 10 days cruise for 2 people, it gave me upgrade estimate from Plus to Premier as $360. So it means that upgrade to Premier would kick in on the second day, right?

Over salting was also what we have noticed on Royal Princess. Many menu items are identical too. I noticed several people are praising the souffles, but for some reason it did not click with me on Royal, I still want to give it another shot next cruise. Normally, I am fan of tiramisu and creme brulee 😄.

Please remind me what MDR is it? I have tried on Royal to ask for the same table, but they could not accommodate. We usually like early dinner. I have reserved table for 2 at Botticelli at 5:40 based on several positive feedbacks in this thread.

It is a glitch which eventually will get resolved. Just keep checking app from time to time. On our first Princess sailing few month back, our package would not show up until probably a month before sailing. Only then I was able to cancel my medallions port pick up order (since I did not want to pay which was supposed to be free with Plus) and re-order home shipping for free. Medallions are not ship until about 3 weeks prior to sailing anyway. Our second sailing is in January and package has appeared now automatically and no problem to order without 10 dollars charge.

Exactly, sticking with classic, old school drinks, as less as possible additional mixing ingredients. French 75, Chairman of the Board, Classic martini. Few drinks from Spirits of the Sea during demonstration. My hubby ordering double Hennessy VS...Don't understand how one can screw up classics like Cosmo or Moscow Mules? But apparently, yes, it is possible.

Our first sailing on Princess was Royal Princess to Alaska 2 month ago, and it may have mistakenly set my bar too high. I've been reading all the MDR responses and, honestly, disappointed. But we won't let it spoil the vacation we have on Ruby in January. Forewarned is forearmed.

It is so strange. Why non-reserved would be given a priority over the reservations? I believe passengers deserve explanation and formal apology. I don't think I would be very patient and might have just gone to the buffet 😂, but not something I would be looking forward every single night.

My understanding you did not have any reservations done pre-cruise, right? But it seems that it does not matter on Ruby, at least now....It never crossed my mind not making a reservations and still go to MDR. We did it on Royal, and worked as a charm, no glitches, no waiting, scan medallion and directed to the table.

I still don't understand, and it seems no explanation by restaurant manager, why reservation system is not working as intended on Ruby? If it works on other Princess's ships (and I had no problems on Royal few month ago), what is wrong with Ruby in this cruising.

My understanding there are 3 MDRs on Ruby. We are sailing end of January and I have an option to choose one of 3 locations (selected Da Vinci, private table). Is this dining situation in all 3 dining rooms?

Honestly, if get rid of most of the stuff on the top, you will end up with 3 scoops of vanilla gelato and either chocolate sauce or caramel sauce. Not bad at all. Nothing outside the glass is eatable, it is just a decoration.

And not adding fuel to the fire, some performances at the piazza were bad, bad, bad....Some classic or well known songs just should not be recreated by ship's band, regardless, and extra amplification was just making many people wince.

Just to see how it works . Purely out of curiosity. Waiters who work tables, don't pick up app orders was my conclusion.

Well, I can tell I was trying to order the drink from Good Spirits while seating nearby. I could see my drink has been made pretty fast, but nobody would pick it up and deliver. After 15 minutes of waiting I went to the bar and asked for it. Only after that barmen asked one of the waiters to deliver it to me.

That would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Looking forward someone doing Live Ruby Princess while it is sailing to FLL from SF. We are booked for Jan 29th Panama Canal from FLL.

Yes, it is charged as 2 drinks. My husband has been ordering his double Hennessy VSOP and for Plus package it has been showing up as 2 drinks.

Thank you for sharing your experience. My second choice is more expensive option of the first one, almost twice, with more time spent at a location. Tempting actually, but ouch $$$..

Thank you, this was my other question, since I've read somewhere that specific number of excursion spots could be available to book on board too. We have some OBC that we would be glad to spend on excursions.
