  1. LOL--- I was going to have a little humor regarding your previous post where you took some " heat " , but, enough is enough. Seriously, perhaps your airline would provide/sell a pass to their First Class Lounge where you could spend the day?
  2. Now you got it-- " people to not hate it enough " Why would that be a criteria ( not hate it enough ) ?? If you " hate " anything about it, why go ??
  3. Of course---- LOL-- My post ( #183 ) was only meant as a bit of humor .
  4. I doubt Celebrity's design " Team " ( 43 recent graduates in Hospitality ) spent as much time as we " Experts " ( see post 156 ) on Ship Renovations. ( Everyone is on a "Team" these days so they don't have to take personal responsibility for goof-ups like IV Balcony's ). LOL---A cubby hole with a $%^#$%^ window ain't no balcony . ( Guess who's golf game was terrible yesterday ) ???
  5. LOL-- Can I add: " the "should I/shouldn't I tip (extra/not extra) horse ----in a Specialty Restaurant ?? And, if anyone cares --an IV balcony ( ?? ) is a just cubby hole, in a cabin, with a window that goes 1/2 way down. A " real " balcony on a cruise ship is a place to dry clothes, read books, eat meals (if desired ) and when necessary , shout down at pier runners. End of story. ( Here comes the " who are You to tell Me etc,etc " ) Off topic: Where is Southern Canada ?? Texas ? Ft Lauderdale in the winter ? or Montreal ?
  6. You got " stuck on Carnival " ?? For 10 years ?? Because your cruises were " comped " ?? Being " stuck for 10 years " is a long time. Because you are a gambler , perhaps you would " qualify " to be comped on Celebrity as well ?
  7. AND- How to use MY BUTLER get's a look at 'em all--- finishing last due to having to " draw " ( ?? ) 14 baths. How early can we check in was disqualified for arriving 41 minutes early.
  8. Another " beaten to death " race was just completed : The winner by 2943 CC posts ---- Who's On Board horse followed in close second by Gratuities Included in Room Service horse and in 3rd position Slobs at the Buffet horse. Note: What should I Do horse was scratched at the last minute due to indecision by the Owner.
  9. Great post !! We could have written the exact same statements after every one of our 17 cruises on Celebrity-- mostly in a cabin on the " hump " on an S class ship. ( I have joked about the time our Waiter forgot to bring my 3 shrimp cocktails at the same time ). LOL-- I thought only " criticisms " are within the Guidelines of cruise Critics ??
  10. " swing " ( ?? ) Yes--- Singles are not invited to a " Swingers " party for fear of having too much " fun " !!
  11. Now I get it---- If you mean arranging some GOLF foursomes at the next Island. I'm in !! If you mean the other " Swinger " party, it sounds like we were never on the same Celebrity cruise.
  12. " These forum boards can really get brutal "!! ( That's true and we all learn that from time to time through our posts ). Now---Let's say you were in my position ( probably others also ) and read your original post (in quotations below ) what would you assume (think ) ?? " If you are a fare paying passenger and director of your own company, that has a fashion based product, are you allowed to self-promote it on board? I’m thinking like, posting flyers, or similar, at cabins? May be advertising a website and/or arranging a gathering in a public space, for example "? 1---"If you are a fare paying passenger --- director of your own company --- fashion based product" Would you not give it a second thought that you are asking for yourself as a Director of your own Company and familiar with the product ?? 2--- " I’m thinking like etc, etc posting flyers "--- Sure sounds like you are thinking for yourself , not someone else. 3---" arranging a gathering in a public space "---- Sounds like your idea to " arrange a gathering ". Lastly, IF the people you are asking for will be on the cruise, and being a Director of their own Company, why didn't they post the question themselves or better still----phone Celebrity and ask them ? Can we agree that their intention is to find a way to charge the cruise to the business ?
  13. Let's be serious----The question was originally asked on a whim ( hey, maybe we can write the cruise off as a Business expense ) , then took a quick left turn, then " covered up " as asking for someone else---which was an "attempt " to cover up their " Goofy " idea. Also-- LOL--- This site is called cruise Critic -- and in order to remain in " Good Standing " we have to Criticize, but, make sure to follow the Guidelines.
  14. Do they now work in the Spa selling " crap ", oops, " life enhancing " products that Guarantee " You will look 26 yrs younger after applying etc etc--- And , for this cruise only, we are " authorized " to offer the Upgraded Supreme package for a reduced price of $ 328 , etc ,etc . Act quickly as there are only a few ( 429 ?? ) packages left ".
  15. Some of these answers are not fair ( LOL ). Uum--- I don't think nobody would mind being bombarded with flyers from passengers that are looking to charge their cruise as a Business expense -- So, Why don't ya bring 40 boxes of pamphlets and try ( ?? ) handing 'em out -- starting with the Captain. Ya don't wanna waste time stickin 'em on cabin doors, and besides, think of how much scotch tape ya gonna need. Then , eat/drink as much as you can on the first night , because the next day you will be going home without a key chain you might have won at trivia or mambo on day 3.
  16. Suggestions : 1--- If you have a TA , call them as they are more familiar with situations like this. 2--- While I'm not a TA , I think that once you change a current reservation, you are starting over with a new reservation and any difference in price would be in effect. Also, the OBC that the Cruise Company or even your TA offered might change. It's all based on what you pay for the cruise. 3--- Before you make any changes, confirm that the stateroom is still available-- just in case someone else grabbed it in the meantime.
  17. LOL-- From past experience--- no more meals on the balcony except maybe the odd time a club sandwich, fries, and diet coke after returning from shopping, oops, checking out the shops that Celebrity " suggests " --- you know, the ones that " kick back " xx% for " recommending " ( ? )them. We prefer to be served breakfast and dinner in a dining room and eat lunch at the Spa Café. Notice-- If anyone finds a soaking wet baseball hat with a Montreal Canadiens logo on it , it's mine from our first, and only, breakfast on our balcony.
  18. Geez--- I've been on lots of cruises--- LOL--- From the demographics on Celebrity , luckily none were " swingers " cruises !! Oops, wait--- I just thought of that " old fart " with the 32 yr old that I can't get out of my head . Lets say she winked at , etc, etc------Keep dreaming !!
  19. Oh Boy, ( for the 10th time ?? ) it's not the dress code per say, it's following the Rules ( see post 185 ). LOL----It's like driving in Quebec where a red light is only a " suggestion " and a yellow light means " sped up".
  20. YOU got it !! "It's the refusal to adhere to guidelines that bothers you "--- Correct "If they change the rule , you won't be bothered " --- Correct. " It's the existence of the rule, not the actual fashion "--- Correct ( I never thought for one minute that you would not wear clean clothes ). ALL I'm saying is " Follow the rules , whatever the Cruise Company establishes . Make it easy for the Staff, as their job is hard enough without passengers putting them in an awkward position to enforce the rules " . It really is that simple. Whatever the rules are, let's just follow them. Maybe we will meet one day and share a laugh or two over all of this ??
  21. I could care less what you wear -- What does bother me are people that won't follow the rules. All this crap over putting on a friggin pair of pants and a clean shirt. LOL-- What ya gonna do IF the Captain wants his/her picture taken with you ?
  22. Agree 100 %-- Good point I was referring to lower level Staff who would rather leave the enforcement rules ( of any kind ) to higher level Staff members. Can we all agree that the rules are really not hard to follow--- it's just the fact that there are rules and some folks just won't comply ?
  23. 1-- The Staff are too intimidated to enforce the rules and people take advantage of it. 2-- It's " I have MY rights ", Entitlement ," It's nobody's business how I dress " , and, some people just don't care to follow the rules , dress code, guidelines or whatever they call it. 3-- So true !!! However, I prefer to not have to bring a tux ( doesn't fit anyway ) or even a suit--- But, always follow the rules --- it's not that hard and doesn't put the Staff in an awkward position. How come people that won't follow the rules in the MDR don't put up a " stink " about not smoking in the casino or anywhere else on the ship ?
  24. You're not missing anything--- It's just me referring to the OVC ( Ocean View Café ) where lots, I mean , lots of people act like Slobs. There has been many threads on this. ( We avoid the OVC quite a bit--- prefer MDR for breakfast and the Spa Café for lunch ) " I suppose you did offend me "---- Didn't mean to. " Do you have some epic adventures to share? We'll get along well if we can one-up each other on our adventures Mr. Pinboy ". As I said in my previous post-- ( You sound like the kind of person I'd like to meet ).
  25. LOL--- Do you think for a minute " You Know Who " is gonna lug 4 cases of diet coke on board for me just because I don't wanna hurt my back and she don't even drink the stuff ?? And besides--- I don't mind tipping a few $ " extra " even though some say " It's INCLUDED -- I am on the AI and don't have to tip nobody "---- ( One day I'll tell ya how I really feel about those people )
