  1. Well… after this year of yo-yo ups and downs with celebrity constantly pulling the rug out from under us and consistently watering down the experience we paid top dollar for, I’m pretty sure we will be a one and done. I’m too tired of it to even be mad anymore. If I could cancel, I would. I’m just done. Gonna make the best of it and call it a lesson learned. Hope the extra few dollars they squeezed out of us by not giving us what we paid for (a butler) was worth it to them.
  2. Personally, I like your plan. It is discrete and I suspect, will be effective. I hope you both have a wonderful cruise.
  3. Thanks for the heads up. We would have divided up too and inevitably sent the wrong person to pick up the cards! What a nice win!
  4. Where can I find details about the deal or no deal game? I pre-bought cards during one of the sales but am now worried that the timing might conflict with other things I have scheduled. Does it happen more than once? Also, because it was (relatively) inexpensive during the sale, I bought the 4 pack. I guess I thought I would be able to then play 4 times, but now wonder if that’s true. Any insight would be appreciated. Ps. I’ve never watched or played it before. I’m planning to find a re-run to watch before we go.
  5. How have those who took these classes liked them? We are already booked with other activities during the steak class but could do the pizza one. Just wondering how fun it is? How many people are in the class?
  6. That explains it. Oh well.
  7. Thank you. It says we are not eligible. Wonder why?
  8. Where do you find the option to put in a move up bid? Or is it an email they send out? We are 63 days from sail away and I don’t see anywhere to place a bid. Maybe our cruise is full…. Or it’s to soon?
  9. I believe they just raised them a few months ago. But it seems they have been quick to raise them in the past as well.
  10. We are sailing on the Edge at the end of May and have already received an email, about a week and a half-two weeks ago.
  11. We found out the hard way that specialty dining books up fast. By the time I went into cruise planner to book, about 3 months before sailing, we could only get an 8pm dining time in the steak house. At this point there is nothing left in Eden.
  12. Not trying to hijack the topic, but I think the OP got her answer anyway… what is this about suite passengers not needing a boarding time? I thought I was going to have to stay up on the day we can check-in for the cruise to get a good time slot. I have multiple severe food allergies so need to be able to eat lunch that day in Luminae which I heard closes at 130.
  13. I am so excited to read this thread! We sail on the Edge in late May. Could it be….we will have the butler experience we paid for almost a year ago!
  14. We’ve heard you can bring a bottle or two with you from home. Maybe we will try that. Thank you for the well wishes! 😊
  15. We are preparing for our first cruise ever this May on Celebrity Edge. My husband thinks he read somewhere (on the Celebrity site) that you can only bring toiletries that fit in a quart sized ziplock. are there limits to the sizes you can bring on a cruise ship like there are for airplanes? We are driving to the port so won’t be flying in. Also, can we bring an aerosol bug spray? He thinks he saw somewhere that you can’t have that either. thank you!
  16. Does anyone know about Seattle?
  17. I heard today that the new dock for Skagway was being transported from Washington and broke apart somewhere near Ketchikan. Am wondering if they will have it repaired/installed before the season starts or if this will delay things into the season. We are scheduled to visit in late May.
  18. Hello! My husband and I are going on our first cruise May of this year on the Edge in Alaska. I was clicking around some of the entertainment and events but didn’t see any lectures or talks. We’ve heard mention about cruises having them but don’t know if Celebrity does? My husband is particularly interested as learning new stuff is a favorite pastime of his. Thank you for any insight.
  19. We are scheduled to cruise on the Edge in May. Thank you for sharing your takeaways, gives us an idea what to expect. Hope they clean those carpets!
  20. Does the retreat experience include complimentary room service already? We are in a suite as well but wondered about that. I hope things aren’t going to be crowded now.
  21. They are comfortable. I usually wear Birkenstocks everywhere so was planning to bring those and then a close toed shoe for excursions etc. I spose I could bring 3 pair, nothing wrong with being prepared.
  22. We are working on this right now for our May 24th departure out of Seattle on the Edge (Celebrity). We’ve both got some merino wool layers we will be bringing. My husbands jacket (shell) is waterproof but mine is only water resistant. I think it will be ok as I suspect we will head for cover if we get caught in a downpour regardless. shoes are where I’m struggling. I have a nice lightweight waterproof hiking boot but we aren’t really going to be hiking. We will spend about 10 minutes on a glacier but the rest of the time we will be walking around town, in a boat, plane, etc. my tennis shoes aren’t waterproof though, so I’d be risking ending up with wet feet. Still not sure what our best shoe plan is.
