Exactly.   But I am being told that not fully complying with the Silversea dress code is disrespectful to other passengers and the cruise line.

The Silversea dress code is much stricter than people here admit:  "Appropriate formal wear for women is an evening gown or cocktail dress; men wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits. Tie is required... Following dinner, guests may take advantage of public spaces, however, jacket is required."  Nothing here about sport coat on formal night, even if dark color.  And having a requirement that goes beyond the dining room is definitely old fashioned.  But I must be "respectful."

You dress how you feel you feel comfortable.. for my husband & I we enjoy dressing for dinner & to my husband there is no such thing as a casual evening so please don't try to bring it down... Yes dress how you want to but if others still want to keep the traditional dress code of silversea then let us ... We can do casual anytime, but dinner on silversea we like to dress up & I know some of you out there have questioned does it make for a better experience well for us yes but to others maybe not..I have posted several times on this subject & I can't believe its still being questioned... Few photos of dear husband and I ( have posted several times) ...we can do dress code & causal..

I am currently on this itinerary on the Dawn but have only eaten in SALT once, I enjoy all the other options too. Particularly being on deck at Hot Rocks as I was last night in blazing sunshine - it felt like it ought to have been lunchtime - IMO it would have been a waste to be indoors at the solstice this far north, we are at Nordkapp today.

However I do look at the menus on the interactive app and it looks like about half the SALT menu is 'regional' and doesn't change much, and about half is 'local' and changes daily or every few days.

And yes, the dishes are all Nordic cuisine - that's the whole point of the SALT concept.

There are plenty of different dining venues if you want other cuisines.

P.S. the overhead heaters at the Grill and Spaccanapoli are fixed and working well.

Sunday afternoon. Mid 70s, sunny, and not humid. Perfect weather for a leisurely stroll somewhere, so we went 15 minutes away to Peebles Island.

This island sits in the Mohawk River, just before it converges with the the Hudson. A nice 2+ mile loop through the wilderness, but within sight of civilization.

We walked the perimeter of the island. Here's Waterford on the other bank.

This tree is somehow hanging on. Looks like it could walk away.

Yes, that's a Great Blue Heron!

Further along, a pair of geese with at least three little ones. They are on the river bank in this photo.

On the other side of the island, the world-renowned Cohoes Falls. Not Victoria, but closer.

Not all wilderness. This is some kind of six-cylinder engine. Rusting away.

Back to the spillway for another view of the herons. There are two now.

    Love this @Lvshack

Thinking back on the Rascals:  songs like Just a Little, Groovin, Lonely too Long, introduced me to soul music with their versions of songs like Mustang Sally.

    Have a blast at Wembley!

Absolutely amazing...untill this evening..( it's now passed midnight here UK ) I've not heard of them so after seeing them I have looked up several songs & yes I agree with your list . although I didn't know that they had a version of Mustang Sally which I have just listened to..& very good... Keep rocking

I know John Williams the Head chef at the Ritz well.

    He was previously at Claridges.

He is a proper grown up chef.

The Ritz dining room is a wonderful place for dinner. The Ritz also has a dinner dance on a Saturday evening that we regularly go to.

Oh they have just shown the dinner dance .. Looks fabulous Mr Luxury.. you definitely enjoy the good life ..🥂..   dear husband and I are off to Palma in June to stay at the hotel convent de la missio which we luv it has a British Michelin star chef Marc fosh based at the hotel... Perhaps you will invite me to the Ritz sometime 😜...

    Yes,that's a given.

You don't get food looking that good on a ship.

I read your comments with tongue in cheek I love your humour😉 I'm sat at home watching a repeat of the TV program INSIDE THE RITZ HOTEL .. now that's how it's done ...on my first silversea cruise silver wind back in 2005 I was sat next to the great grandson of Escoffier in the dining room...

  11. We have always used silversea air included .. since my medical issues we now only cruise Europe...( Never get  tired of sailing around the fabulous Mediterranean..) for us the business class flights ( well club Europe 😂) is a good price when you include use of the private lounges.. transfers from airport to ship & ship to airport.. we are on the moon in Oct & our travel agent advised us 26th Jan our flight ref number...when I went into my silversea log in it was all there ...I'm can't speak for others from over the pond how it works but maybe for us this side it maybe a lot easier to organise...only 2 - 4 hours flight maximum..

  12. I will always remember my first silversea cruise ..2005 silver wind.. ended 10 nights in Monte Carlo & we had a late flight back to the UK & were given a day room in the hotel de Paris Monaco.. (foc)... It was fabulous and the icing on the cake was being picked up outside the hotel by a Mercedes S class to catch flight from nice  happy days 🥂

OP was uncertain about number of formal nights and folks have tried to clarify, without interjecting judgement or opinion.
Let’s give OP helpful factual information for packing and planning.

Pack what ever you feel comfortable in ...as I have said on so so many occasions if you have to ask how to dress for dinner !! Well !! How do you dress when you dine out at home .. just enjoy the cruise..each to his own( as we say here in the UK!) Chill relax 💃👗👔🍾 x

  16. We don't need a breakdown of dress code .. we dress for dinner every night ..yet again it's a personal choice...I have said on many occasions there is no casual night for my dear husband..but he can do casual when appropriate 😂..happy crusing 🥂
