I travel because I am able and as long as I am able I will continue to travel😃.....I don't have anything that prevents me from going.....and to be honest, I don't feel bad at all......they are just issues that have happened to me in the past few years. Some folks age gracefully without any health problems.....once I turned 60? They all hit at once..........(I am now 63).

I'm pleased to hear that Lois ... I love to travel also and have over 59 plus cruises ...

But I follow your medical problems with interest..you seem to have to go for so many tests etc & I was only wondering how your travel insurance works for you ... I've just reached my 65tn birthday this August ..being diagnosed with myeloma in 2013 !!! ( Real game changer for me ref traveling)  so again lois I'm sorry to hear about your medical problems but you are able to travel without it affecting your travel insurance...

You say you don't have anything that prevents you from traveling so here's to you girl 🍾 xx  ps I'm not going to age gracefully !!!😉 Live& let live ...

Booked 3 silversea cruises for 2022/2023 !!! & One crystal cruise in 2022 ( although silversea my personal favourite) ..have you looked at Mediterranean 2022 silversea dawn Venetian society reunion cruise !! We have booked !!!

Sending positive vibes to you lovely lois R....

    Hi Coolers, TB, cute bear😀

Well, this is another couple of weeks of Dr's appts/procedures/tests for me.........

Had a GP appt last week...today was blood work.   Yesterday saw my Kidney Doc and she wants me to have an Ultrasound on them which will be Tuesday.  And tomorrow I have a follow up Endoscopy with the GI Guy😲..........never ending.   Wish me luck on all of it please🙂

Hi dear Lois ..hope you are all ok from all your medical problems you seem to experience!!( Bless you) I'm living with  a incurable cancer of the blood myeloma..

And I'm just wondering have you can travel so easily all over the world with your medical problems???.. your travel insurance must be sky high...mine is just to travel in Europe!!!  Hence why I've not travelled outside UK since last cruise 2019!!!

But wishing you all good vibes with your medical problems.

Hi🙂, yes, you have to submit a new password. What details are you talking about? You just click on that link that already has your email address and they email you a temporary password and then you change it.  Easy Peasy🙂

Yes Lois it was as you say easy peasy...I was just worried about them asking to use a new password with all the problems they have experienced I thought it might be a scam !!! Once again just paranoid !!! But now all sorted 🚢

Hi Lola ... With ref to Daveywavey!!! I think he's departure from  the cooler was just  after one evening way back when I posted a comment on Stanley Gucci on BBC Graham Norton show ( I mentioned this as Lois was watching his Italian cooking adventure) and said how I enjoy Graham Norton !!! Daveywavey posted a comment ref  Graham and was not very complimentary about  Graham ref his hygiene!!!! Then someone posted a comment about Daveywaveys hotel ( can't remember who)  and since then no response from him 😞 I have replied to a few of his old YouTube channel of various cruises that I still  watch & enjoy & he said he was giving the cooler a break !!!! Maybe he will return...

Sorry should have read tucci!!! ( Must have my next silversea dress code on my mind lol !!!)

    Good morning, coolers

Reef Knot - you are very intriguing:  maybe you move for work reasons?  Obviously do not want to pry, but is that the reason?  I think French is the second language in Tunisia?

I  miss Daveywavey and Jeff - I wonder if either of them read this rubbish occasionally.

jp - just looked up your cruise; what a lovely itinerary.  We loved Bonifacio in particular, and one time we were there were able to dock right in town, on a tiny ship (Seadream) and have dinner outside looking at the view.  One of those memories which remain with you.   I see your ship will take about 180 passengers, it would be nice if it were only say half full,  for the passengers if not the line's finances.  Looking forward to reading about your adventures.

So these are "special" cruises, but there's no advance information about what will make them special? They are described as having "an array of benefits, one-of-a-kind events, and exclusive experiences ashore" and "exclusive receptions and once-in-a-lifetime events". It sounds nice, but it's so vague that it's hard to know what is marketing hype ends and what is truly unique about of these voyages.

I'm booked I paid final payment today  for the Mediterranean 7 night ... Enjoyed a reunion cruise ( last one before UK lockdown) sept 2019 on silver spirit and had a fabulous time ..also it was our 100 day plus so got the certificate & free laundry yep hee ...😊 There were lots of goodies delivered to the suite. Throughout the trip ...

It was great to see so many guests with 1000 of days and the mix of passenger base was very interesting... It had a little upbeat vibe the panaroma Lounge was good fun most nights ( if you like that sort of thing)  I do !! it will be fun 🚢 look forward to meeting new friends 🍹

Yesterday while Bob was on his usual walk, he was hit by a car that blew through a stop sign at 35 mph.  He was airlifted to Shock Trauma and will have surgery today.  I am thankful that he is in such good shape for a man his age.  His injuries could have been so much worse considering the MOI but he will have a long road to recovery.

    Stay safe everyone.

I don't know why but for some reason my reply to threads are not sending !!! I sent one to you emthbsam as soon as you posted about poor Bob... Sending lots of love & best wishes for a good recovery ..😘

Totally agree. You highlight the main reasons we were introduced to Silversea in 1997 and have enjoyed annual cruising  with them ever since.

yes it suits us but appreciate that it’s not for everyone. We also hope the replacement of the wonderful Fab Four of Shadow,Whisper ,Wind and Cloud by a fleet with more than double the passenger numbers which seems to be a policy of the new owners who built their reputation on mass market cruising does not succeed at the expense of the luxury we have been fortunate to enjoy for 23 years.

Well I have responded so many times and for some Reason not getting through ( maybe I've been black listed ..lol...)

My response to this thread about dress  which keeps popping up each time a new silversea guest wants to ask about dress code ! And change the code!! Well if you have read the brochure & posts they must get the ideal ??? Yes ? No ?? My husband and I started cruising in 1989 on mainstream lines but even back then Rccl in fact ( which now own silversea) it was a very dressed affair ...but they have become to big and somewhat shopping mall springs to mind !!!  So I do agree if you don't like to dress then maybe it's not for you ???

Few of you who know my threads ref dress codes will know that my husband has no concept of causal!!😉

Photo of last night on silver spirit sept 2019 Monte Carlo ( causal nite )

Thanks for that reminder of the Saga experience, Kohima.  I had forgotten about the cheeses; served at the right temperature and lots of choice, unlike most other lines.

Oh Lola can't believe you have popped up on saga .... I've only just replied to a silversea comment from you !!!!  Well I have  been very very bored today & have looked at regent.silversea( my favourite ) and seabourn...( Don't like the concept of the "elete  the retreat!!!)  And also saga where you popped up!!!

My friend lives in portishead Bristol & sent me a photo a few weeks ago from her balcony at home with a saga ship passing through so I thought I would look at there website ... Southampton is only just under 60 miles from home and it does sound very appealing ..no long drive to Heathrow .. air flight .. but still sat on the fence a little being it probably all British passenger base ( don't get wrong I don't have a problem with that but it's nice to meet people from all over the world ... Or maybe after 32 years of cruising would it matter ...  Oh and the cheeses wow very British old school ...keep safe happy cruising 🚢 soon day soon

My apologies if I wrote out of turn recently - It is the sort of topic it is easy to talk about personally to anyone, but unless you have a gift for words, which many Coolers have, and I obviously sadly lack, can come across as rather rude or unkind when put 'on paper' for everyone to read.

I have enjoyed many cruises on Silversea and Seabourn over the years - though of course not recently, and at present with my home circumstances it is hard to visualise when I might manage another.  But I live in hope.

    Lola

Good afternoon Lola ... I don't know what comment you made recently I seem to have missed it ...have gone back a few pages and can't find anything!!! From all your other posts you have always been very polite and would not think anything rude could come from you ... My husband &I enjoy cruising ( silversea our personal favourite) but have not cruised since 2019 having cancelled 1 for 2020 & 2 for 2021 both feeling it's still not the time  & issues with our travel insurance ( have mentioned before I have myeloma so not good for insurance at the best of time!!) We have however booked for 2022 & looking  at 2023 ....

Hope ok to be talking about cruising on this thread ...

    Weather here is stormy

@Lvshack  Here's what it shows on the US website:

As you can see, there's no mention of business class air as an offer for this cruise. At least we've clearly established that it's definitely showing different offers on the US and the UK website. I don't know if it's normal for US and UK have different air offers (other than price) for the same cruise.

Since the £99 price for an upgrade is clearly a mistake, I'm guessing this is placeholder text and the whole mention of business class air is a mistake.

Yes it did seem to good to be true 😢 but again as I said before the price showing on the website including economy flights is not being offered ..just cruise only with a air credit .... So my point to silversea is the misleading information that it includes flights !!! Wait to see if it gets updated nearer the time flights are released for this cruise 🤔

  15. Hi cruiseej .. yes that's right but you can see when you look for offers with this cruise it states it's a Venetian sailing & business class upgrade ... So again my issue with silversea is that flights are not offered spat this time so that price quoted was the £5700 per  Less £500 air credit !!! So the website is misleading which I told them ...

I think 99 pounds for the BC upgrade is a huge typo!!

Silversea London office rang me back this morning after my travel agent raised the query with them . they apologize for the error & that no 2024 cruises released were with flights( economy or otherwise!!!)  I said I think you need to look at the website certainly UK & have the fares removed as it's very misleading 🚢 so looking now late Oct 2023( always have to go when my husbands Motocross racing season has ended)

Although sailing in April 2022 with crystal so he will miss a few rounds then ..😞and have booked a 7 night cruise on the dawn Nov 22 special Venetian reunion sailing

Happy sailing ...but not until next year for us

Good morning to you all.. just woken up it's 815am 😊 if I can try to explain ...

I looked on silversea site ..looked up find a cruise & chose the Jan 2024 silver moon

Aqaba to Mumbai 16 nights ..& it came up with price £5700 for vista Inc  economy flight & transfer .. then looked at offers for this cruise which was a showing it's a Venetian sailing ..offer to upgrade to business class £99.00 per person each way ...

So you can imagine I was going jump at the chance.. so when I was told I could only be quoted for cruise only they took off £500.00 per person each  for air fare !!!

So why advertise it as all inclusive ...🤔 Does that make sense???

🚢 Have tried to send the copy..

Cruise from Aqaba (Petra) to Mumbai - MO240126016 | Silversea 1.38 MB · 6 downloads

Don't think my copy will download??? Try again ..as your silversea website may show the price in a different format !!!
