Hi water coolers .. I know I don't contribute much to this thread but follow it with much interest .. the  today's funnies I laugh 😂..so much.. my husband and I were booked to go on silversea silver moon Oct ( 12 nights Barcelona to Athens ) but we have to cancel 😢as my pesky myeloma has decided to rear its head again ( after 10 years stem cell transplant) so I will be back on chemo & a further stem cell transplant... Happy days 🥂 but I'm hoping that the cruise for 2024 will be on !!! . keep the funnies coming..silversea cruising since 2005 ...

Yet again the dress code appears on so many topics... nothing wrong with that but dress code is so personal to so many ...as I have posted on many silversea threads ( having cruised with silversea since 2005 😱) it's how you feel about dress code ...my husband & I always dress for dinner ..it's a special time to dine over several hours  but once again it's a personal choice...but really should you be asking how to dress when your on silversea?? Happy cruising 💃🍾👗👔😂 photo of husband on last night of cruise ( for him there is no casual night 🤣)

I think it's maybe a European ( British thing) Mr luxury ☺️. Hi all long time since I've communicated on the Silversea site !! Just a quickie it's been a very sad day for us ..as our queen of 70years was laid to rest in a fabulous grand state funeral...god bless the queen ..long live the king 👑...

In the UK the amount taken off the cruise fare door to door is  -£70 per person not wanting to use the private transfer to airport..& - £400 pounds  

( sterling) each for not using Silversea air package... For us here in the UK it's a good deal door to door with Silversea air..but we take off the private transfer cost as we live a little outside the milage zone ...  Will be crusing in Nov on the silver dawn ( first cruise since 2019 !!! ( Well not first cruise but first since covid ) ..

Hi Lois feeling a little left out of this thread 😢 I posted the other day alongside other postings  to which you replied & no comments on mime about being in Palma when the ship arrives Wednesday 6th !!!& Wishing you well ..I just thought maybe some kind response would have followed !!! (Maybe I'm not in  the in crowd!!( After 15 cruises with Silversea !! But sending you very good positive vibes with your setback !!!

I'm now starting another round of chemo then a other  stem to follow 2nd one  (I have myeloma!!) But I'm so positive  & still take what ever life throws at me !! I follow your  threads with great interest as always!!nplease give me a wave when I'm at the port looking at the fabulous silver dawn 🚢

Hi Lois .. not been on cruise critic for a while but have been following your posts with interest as I'm on the dawn in Nov 2022.. but I am posting a thread today as untill you listed your ports of call I was excited to see your in Palma on 6th July which is when my husband and I are away on the island for a short trip staying in old town near where the ship will be docked !!! I did ( although I knew the answer before I asked ) If it was possible to visit the ship as we would have been able to do pre COVID but of course the answer was NO 😞.. so we will take a stroll and look at her from the pier ...

Yes agreed answer to another thread !!! I'm as of August this year in the pension party !!

We in the UK have had a somewhat disappointed change of age to receiving our state pension..I myself have had to wait to age 66!!! When it used to be 60 ..( for women) so anyone born in the 50's had to wait a little 6 years later to receive our state pension ...I'm going to receive it aug 2022 but by this time( as I have never had children or any gap in my working experience have actually contributed over 50 years  into the state pension !!! I'm I upset !! Yes you bet I am ... Almost £ 50.000 less in my bank account !! A few cruise missed ..anyway it's getting political ... Chill out my husband tells me 🍾🚢👙🍹 😉

Hi all ..we have booked 2022 & 2023 and have enjoyed receiving our 5% Venetian member discount ( on certain sailing) & 5% 100 days !!! ( Plus free laundry ) I personally have no issues with the door to door prices ( just have the door to door transport taken off the price as we would not use that portion of the fare )  ...most of our Cruises now are short haul around the Mediterranean ( due to my health issues) but more then happy to cruise & enjoy the experience of meeting so many interesting people from further afield!!  Happy sailing 🚢 ...

well me again !! I'm at home now watching our local news and to be honest ..why I'm I worried about sailing on on fabulous cruise ship when there is do much still going on in the Ukraine!!! It's so so sad ..and on other posts people wondering what champagne, or cavair being served !!! In the scheme of things is that all you have to worry about ??!!! 😞

Lvshack - you have mixed me up with someone else; I have not cruised for about 4 years, and am not likely to for a while, as I lost my other half at the end of last year.  Maybe one day I will feel like cruising again, and pluck up the courage.  This leads me to say to you, while you are able to do so, you should make the most of life, and try not to worry about things.  I find that the memories of good times are much more important to me now than possessions.  Go for it while you are young and fit enough!  I know you have some medical problems, so do I, but at least we are here!!

Oh bless you Lola please accept my apologies to you .but as you have been posting ( I have not really payed attention to😞) I know from a post some time back now you had mentioned the passing of your dear husband and I'm sorry to hear of his passing !!..

I maybe should not have made a new thread as it's probably under the the tread of future reopening plan ( !!!??) But anyway .. yes I will continue to enjoy the cruising experience as I have done since 1989 !! ...my medical condition has changed since 2013 with a blood cancer diagnosis of myeloma 2012 !! But I'm this July 8 years after stem cell and still ready to Boggie !!💃.. I'm just frustrated about all the protocol on not just cruising but all travel other then UK !! 

Hi ship mates ... I'm excited & still very nervous about starting cruising again after a long time since sept 2019 ( fabulous silver spirit Venetian reunion) .. have had 2 cancellation cruises since but now booked for Nov 2022 silver dawn ( again special Venetian reunion sailing) ..I know lots of you have been cruising again since 2021 ..lois, Lola jp etc to name a few !! So why I'm I so questioning my decision now after booking last August when I thought it must be all over by then !!!🙏.. I'm not worried about wearing face masks ..it's just the thought of being on the ship & testing positive & having to stay in isolation for ???..I welcome your feed back... Just another question .. whilst I'm in Palma Mallorca in July silver dawn is in port what are the chances of look around as day visitor 😉

Can I just add to this topic that I think it's all getting a little personal now likewise on other silversea threads ..not blaming anyone in particular but I'm getting a vibe it's from crystal ex passengers wanting to try silversea  asking various questions and perhaps not liking the response.. 1.dress code does seem to be a problem 2.dinning options ..3.size of cabins !! I could go on ...please just give silversea a try & if you don't care for them then try another line untill you find your alternative to crystal...I myself love silversea 💃
