  1. Good morning to you all.. just woken up it's 815am 😊 if I can try to explain ...

I looked on silversea site ..looked up find a cruise & chose the Jan 2024 silver moon

Aqaba to Mumbai 16 nights ..& it came up with price £5700 for vista Inc  economy flight & transfer .. then looked at offers for this cruise which was a showing it's a Venetian sailing ..offer to upgrade to business class £99.00 per person each way ...

So you can imagine I was going jump at the chance.. so when I was told I could only be quoted for cruise only they took off £500.00 per person each  for air fare !!!

So why advertise it as all inclusive ...🤔 Does that make sense???

🚢 Have tried to send the copy..

Cruise from Aqaba (Petra) to Mumbai - MO240126016 | Silversea

  2. So much for my excitement in booking a cruise on silversea website for aqaba to Mumbai in Jan 2024 ( I know long way off !!) Price including economy fights & transfer with good price to upgrade to business class looked fantastic..but alas far to good to be true as they have come back this morning & said they can't quote for flights as it's to far out the time zone..which I can appreciate but why advertise Inc flights & transfer if they can't delivery 😞 back to the drawing board 🚢

    Climate of Mumbai in january

THE CLIMATE OF MUMBAI IN JANUARY IS PERFECT

the weather in Mumbai in january is dry ; it never rains.

The climate is very warm in that locality in january. The high seasonal norm is 86°F. On average, the recorded minimum temperature is 77°F. Thus, the mean temperature average on this month of january in Mumbai is 81°F. Note that these seasonal averages are in contrast with those observed in Mumbai in january with a maximum record of 92°F in 2014 and a minimum record of 70°F in 2011. You can plan to have about 16 days with temperatures above 86°F, or 52 of the month.

On average, in Mumbai, the days of january last 11:06. The sun rises at 07:15 and sunset is at 18:21.

With a perfect weather, january is recommended to go in this locality in India."

If our upcoming February voyage on the Moon is cancelled, we may just join you on that special Venetian Society sailing on the Dawn in November, 2022.  It’ll give me a chance to recreate the gourmand land trip through Provence & Basque that was cancelled in the fall of 2020.

Oh I'm hoping that your February cruise does go to plan but would be lovely to meet you on the special Venetian reunion sailing on the dawn in November 2022 ( perhaps you can do both ???🚢🍾🍾🙏 ) 😊 ??

If i recall back in the day we weren’t supposed to discuss Silversea on the cooler because there was space everywhere else to post about it.

The cooler was for EVERYTHING ELSE and ANYTHING ELSE.

Hence the topics not about Silversea.

I know that the cooler was a place created by Jeff. And to continue it, Cruise Critic made some rules.

Yes thank you spins ... It was not silversea cruise on topic .. I remember having posted about my first silversea cruise 2005 silver wind .. and got told politely cruise info was off topic 😢  will I ever learn !!!🚢😘

QSS, no topic is off-topic at the Cooler. We have been on other lines, but long ago before the era of the floating leviathans. It's a different experience.

Hold On a minute !!! I was hung strung & quartered way back for talking about cruise lines etc !!!! When I first joined the cooler!!! I'm still thinking it's a elete group ...

( Although all of you l would  say otherwise ...  I guess I'm not in the club  it's your rules ..

Ok enough of the attire debate, it has been rehashed so many times.

Everyone has an opinion, which is fine. Let us face it there will be NO consensus.

The ultimate arbiter is Silversea. At this juncture no one has convinced them to change their policy. Pax are still booking with full knowledge of the dress code.

Someone please put the topic on another thread or close this one.

This thread was to be about the adventures on the NEW MOON.

Yes you are right spinnaker although I had made a comment I was just waiting for the suggestion we move on as it's not really the thread ... guilty as charged..I'm always in trouble 😉 pleased you enjoyed your trip and somewhat little upset I cancelled the sailing in Oct  ..😞 but I'm sure I've done the right thing... looking forward to the silver dawn next Nov ... Enjoyed your posting about your trip

For this young(ish) fella, I hope that never happens.  Formal nights are still a highlight for us, since we live in a super casual state, and one of many reasons why we sail Silversea.

Couldn't agree more stumblefoot.. MDH loves to dress & always packs his tux...he also wears jacket & tie most evenings...

It's nice to enjoy lovely food , company, in a fabulous environment

Chas,  you have a great eye!  I didn't even notice the  "low" until you mentioned it. I need to be more attentive.  🤣

I spotted that ! Earlier today! But didn't like to mention it!!😉

I recently got an email about the two 2022 Venetian Society cruises. The one to Southeast Asia looks very appealing. Has anyone been on a Venetian Society sailing, and know what the benefits are? Are there special shore events that provide added value?

     Thanks for any information.

The Venetian society always  on several occasions offer  additional 5% on a cruise for Venetian guests ... The reunion sailing offer a few little extras...

Had my first reunion sailing sept 2019 silver spirit ( which I   happened to get my 100 days certificate ☺️)  and had a special land trip ( foc)

Also thoughout the sailing lots of little presents left in cabin several times over the 9 nights ... Some guests knew each other having sailed over many years & hundreds of days !!! But it's all the same fabulous experience ... I just this morning booked for the 7 nights Mediterranean cruise silver dawn ..( have already got a sailing in April 2022) cancelled from last year 🚢☺️

Hi friends, just want to wish all of you a good weekend. I fly out to Chicago tomorrow morning😃

I have been looking at their weather and it shows showers every day☹️.....hopefully it won't be too bad.

My heart goes out to those families in South Florida......that condo that went down looks like it crumbled in a war zone😞.

I will be home Monday afternoon. Looking forward to getting away.....pre-curser for the BIG TRIP👍

Enjoy your trip Lois and take care ... Be young be foolish and be happy ☀️  happy cruising next month .🚢

As Spins mentioned and actually those folks sailing on the Moon, we all received an email about the new boarding time.  Yes, it is nice to board earlier but I really don't think it is a big deal. (Just my opinion).  They are trying to do everything to keep all of us as safe as possible in these extraordinary times.

Spins mentioned it earlier in this thread.......I am sure the earlier boarding will be back.

Hi Lois 🙂 we just made a comment about earlier boarding pre covid as some of us were not aware this was a perk !!! Yes agree it's all different now as so many protocols are in place ( price one has to pay to want to cruise at this time !!!)  PS don't forget your 😷think of us in Europe who cannot get away so easy as you in USA etc can do !!!

The wearing of the mask is so minuscule in the scheme of things.

Most of the time you are not wearing it.

To give up cruising for a rule that really has little impact on enjoyment, well at least for me, its a worthwhile trade off.

This cruise is nothing short of spectacular.

    Over the Moon.

Hello spins 🚢 love reading your posts & photos of your experience around the Greek islands...it looks absolutely amazing ( have done it several times)

It's not the wearing of masks that I'm choosing not to cruise this year as we in the UK have had to & still do wear masks in all indoor venue's & public transport!!😷 But it's the government statement & medical center that has advised that all unnecessary travel is a no go !!!! So cruising for us at this time is out of the question...also Greece & the islands are not on the list to visit without tests & isolate for 10 days on return!!!

Also the most important issue for me is as I have myeloma my insurance companies ( several I have approached) all say no cover at this time so it's for me anyway not just about covid it's any other issue that could arise for me or my husband needing to claim ..please believe me spins we would be on a cruise in a heartbeat 💓 but just not at this time ... Interested to know nationality break down ???

    Happy cruise ☀️☀️🍹🍾👙

    We are aboard.

Details to follow but its amazing to see so many of the crew.

Wow it's amazing !!! Your on your way !!! As I mentioned before on other threads I'm not that brave to travel at this moment ..and Greece being on our no go area  it was something we would not consider to do...so so sad as Athens us only 3.5 hours flight from London for us !!! Can't believe that the USA can go !!!

But that said I wish all the best & hope you all have a amazing experience!!!

We in the UK are being encouraged not to travel untill most of the population is double vaccinated!!! Which thankfully won't be to long ... But it's still masks wearing in all indoor venue's & public transport..I have read the USA since  2020 the masks wearing has been very hit & miss & I hope it won't set us back by you wanting to travel so far a field ..

Happy cruising & look forward to hearing from you & all your experiences on the moon( which I cancelled sailing in Oct 2021 feeling it was still to soon !!)

Again wish you all happy sailing 🚢🙏😷 ..... Keep safe

  17. Omg !!! It's almost here !!! June silver moon sailing... As I posted before that I'm not that brave to venture into cruising at this time and will wait untill 2022 when I hope a little more settled... I know covid is with us still but here in  the UK as of Monday 14th June are out of lockdown completely on 21st June will not happen so it's still masks wearing all indoors & public transport!!! ( Although I'm probably the only silversea pax to use public transport 🤔) also Greece is on amber list  so it's not advisable to travel there or the islands!!!  For me it's not just about the tests and stay home after the cruise but as I mentioned before I'm a cancer patient so even if not covid related my insurance company would not pay if even I have a fall or any slight injury..( that said they won't cover for any travel to red or amber country's)  so it's another year in the fabulous UK!!!

Wishing you all the best for your upcoming silversea moon sailings keep us all posted

    Bon voyage 🚢😷🙏☀️☀️

  18. Hope all you that have booked on the June sailing on the moon have a fabulous time ..

Jealous yes ! Wish I was going no! I'm not that brave to travel still at this time

We in the UK are being advised not to travel to Greece & the islands & travel insurance would be all to complicated to consider travel at this time ( I have a medical condition myeloma) so it's not just about covid it's other problems that could arise ...

I had been looking to sail on her in Oct but cancelled & will wait untill 2022!!!

That said hope to receive all your photos, videos and thoughts on the trip...

Once again wishing you all a fabulous cruise 🙏🚢😷🍾🍾☀️
