  1. The itinerary is similar to the one the Volendam is doing out of Fort Lauderdale this Nov-Dec which is a 42 day roundtrip with overnights and stops in Europe and Africa. The pricing appears to be similar with the major difference for the '25 trip being the sailing roundtrip out of NYC which is something that they haven't done much of in the last 10 years.
  2. As I said it has appeared on some of the major 3rd party bookings sites which I am not allowed to mention in here but it is not yet on the HAL site. Those sites don't allow you to actually book it yet but do show the the full 45 day itinerary.
  3. No it is a single roundtrip cruise so your right not repositioning so I removed that word from the text.
  4. HAL's plans for the Volendam when it arrives in New York City after a 9 day cruise from Montreal on October 7, 2025 are finally starting to show up on 3rd party cruise sites. The ship will sail on a roundtrip 45 day transatlantic cruise to Europe and Africa with stops in a dozen countries including Portugal, Spain, and Greece, along with overnights in Rome(Italy), Alexandria(Egypt), and Istanbul(Turkey). After returning to NYC on November 21 it will sail on to an already scheduled 30 day Amazon Explorer cruise.
  5. We had over 18 inches of snow here in Central New England last weekend. That's 45.72+ cm!! Just not sure how many dogs that would be.😉
  6. Oh I agree that these were very likely not licensed service animals. If HAL allowed them on with whatever documentation that was provided then they need to take a closer look at that process. The more feedback they get from passengers like yourself and others about the issues then the more likely they will review their procedures.
  7. If you look at my post #849 as referenced by @Haljo1935 above you will see right underneath the area I circled in the ADA requirements a statement regarding public food service areas and how service animals are generally allowed in them even if that overrules state and local health codes. Now what the policy in International Waters is I don't know but I do know that when the health inspectors come on board the ships they best not fine droppings from any dog or human for that matter in any food service areas.
  8. But even with legitimate service dogs there are some areas where things can be challenged about their actions as noted here on the ADA page about requirements. @Haljo1935 rightfully so presented HAL management with information including photos that seem to validate violations of part 1 here. The dog(s) was unleashed and at one point even ran into her room after she opened her door. If a strange human being did that,(ran into her room when she opened the door), don't you think management would want to at the very least question that person about it?
  9. Recent DOB(Dog on Board)issues on Carnival and seemingly HAL ships too have got the attention of CCL corporate who through spokesperson John Heald they were addressed today on his FB page.
  10. As I understand it the ship's security team released this photo of a suspect of interest in the missing scooter incident onboard.😉
  11. Well they are scheduled to dock at Honolulu in around 11 hours at 7am hst. They have the Crown Princess to their Northwest heading to Kauai for 8am hst, and the Seaborn Sojourn further back bringing up the rear, so they are not alone out there.
  12. Thanks for sending out your first hand reports of what is happening. It sounds like for the moment they are getting on top of this. In October of 2019 the Koningsdam had a similar incident but also lost propulsion then. Here is the report on that one from the Cruise Mapper site.
  13. I agree and that's why I posted the above nine days ago. Long before they were known as Donkeys the real name of these animals that goes back to the Latin roots was asinus. We need to respect A**es cuz after all it is the 2020's now. https://veryinformed.com/why-are-donkeys-called-jackasses/#Conclusion
  14. Right! Now if they started offering freshly trampled grape juice, I'd pay for it just to watch the process.😉 https://youtu.be/GJIckkur_HM?si=Q0ZXkYPz6lrap_IY
  15. If you only think of the many Caribbean islands as being nothing but beach hangouts then you will never enjoy the true beauty and wonderful food, culture, history, and people of those islands. Yes islands like Aruba and St. Maarten are heavily geared towards the beach culture and can get crowded, but others like Grenada and Guadeloupe have wonderful lush botanical gardens, waterfalls and rain forests. Martinique even has it's active volcano named Mt. Pele which is a World Heritage Site that you can visit. It last erupted in 1932 and it's most infamous eruption was in 1902 when over 30,000 people were killed(more than twice those killed at Pompeii)leaving the city of Saint-Pierre as a sort of modern Pompeii. If St. Kitts is too touristy for you take the ferry to the nearby island of Nevis, famous for its large Plantations and the place where Princess Diana took William and Harry when they were young for some quiet time away from the press. And finally after the disruptive hurricane of a few years back San Juan, Puerto Rico has come back nicely and it's old city and new city areas are well worth a re-visit now. The Carenage, Grenada...
