I’m sorry that happened to you. Seriously, that is not ok and I would have reported it to Guest Services. Only been on Carnival once, looking at booking two more. Always treated so well on Royal, even with just the Soda or Refreshment package. I do tip extra, especially when they bring us the Sodas to the table in the bars, but it’s after getting such good service.

Royal has Anthem of Seas cruising to Norway in 2024 from Southampton starting on May 12th when we are booked. Anthem has Fjord cruises at least into July. Anthem started sailing in 2015 and has already had enhancements, and does have an enclosed Solarium. Royal is sending Indy in 2025 and she is not even going to Geirangerfjord, a must see, so if you wait till 2025, you could miss out. Good Luck! 😎

I’m going in May on Anthem as Geirangerfjord is a must see on my Fjords cruise. A dear friend and co-worker booked a balcony on Anthem when she learned the Fjords are closing. This departure, May 12th, is extra special as we will be in Norway for Constitution Day on May 17th. 2024 is Anthem’s last season in Southampton and after seeing Emma’s cruises Fjords cruise on Anthem in May 2022 and Matt from Royal Caribbean Blog’s doing the same trip last May, don’t want to miss it. Royal is sending Indy in 2025, but not going to the ports I want. Would urge you to go this year, if possible. The major cruise lines will not be able to catch up for many years as they have no zero emission ships (Even LNG is a no go) and none are planned at present. So the clock is ticking. On Sea days MDR or Windjammer. On Port days just Windjammer, or pizza at Cafe Promenade. We came back from Shore at 3:30pm Windjammer was closed, no seating at Cafe so we paid to eat at JR. It was ok, thought it was silly to pay extra for a burger/hot dog & fries on a cruise that time of day.

Yes, I booked on Royal’s Anthem cruise from Southampton to Norway’s Fjords for next May, 2024. A dear friend has already booked a balcony cabin as she doesn’t want to miss the chance to cruise into Geiranger. 2024 will be Anthem’s last season to Norway. If you can, please don’t wait for 2025, as the cruises will be more crowded and expensive. The expedition cruises are great but way to pricey for most families. Good Luck!

As of spring 2023, Barcelona port shuttle is 5€ each, RT. Malaga about the same. Alicante has a free shuttle. At Toulon, we docked across the Bay, if you did not book an excursion Water Taxi was $20. each RT, or you could walk and get the ferry for 2-3€. Cartagena you can walk into town. Ajaccio town is adjacent to both dock and tender.

MSC did not handle it well, either in terms of food or passenger comfort. A passenger reported to our Royal group as she is booked with Royal and wondered how they might respond. A passenger from Carnival said they were well fed and needs anticipated.

Started on smaller ships. Now working my way up. Was on Empress, Majesty, Rhapsody and was just on Radiance. Booked on Explorer next month and Anthem this fall. Loved Radiance, perfect size, great solarium, beautiful views everywhere and has a proper outside promenade to walk around the ship. Looking to book on Jewel, Radiance’s sister ship. The only thing I didn’t’t like about Radiance was the Windjammer seemed a little too small for the ship, especially at full capacity. As it turns out, Radiance has a smaller Windjammer than her sister ships including Jewel. Radiance had an Izumi added to the rear of the Windjammer and has a Samba grill on deck 12 where Izumi is located on Jewel, Brilliance, and Serenade. Not a big fan of all the pay extra specialty restaurants. Remember when Johnny Rockets was the only specialty restaurant! Anyway, going to book Jewel for her 15 night spring 24 transatlantic! Trying Explorer and Anthem, too, but don’t plan to book be on the Oasis class, at least for now. Love the classic cruise ships!

Agree with you, another included food option like an El Loco Fresh would be great! But, it looks like they had only more pay extra venues planned. Going on Explorer next month. Surprised she has fewer included food/snack options than Radiance. Thanks!

Royal Caribbean is going to homeport Rhapsody of the Seas at Haifa for Summer 2023. Rhapsody sails there in April. Yet,, most of Royal’s 2024 cruises have been published, but nothing for Rhapsody returning 2024.. Wonder if terminal work could be an issue?
