  1. Unlimited to the fact that you can get as many as they will give you from 5 to 7 pm. They really don't squawk about soda and water. I've asked for a can of coke and water at the same time no ???? asked. Also wine and water. I rarely get a drink package as not fussed about their wine selections. I've even had a premium wine poured as part of my HH benefits. Yay Decoy. 🍷
  2. Oh what a shame. I took my 11 year old Grandson on adventure of the seas mainly for the water slides and Perfect Day at Coco Cay. I was surprised at how nice the Diamond Lounge was on a very old ship.
  3. I like RCIs diamond lounge. The snacks and canapés really good some were hot good selection of cheeses and wine. Unfortunately I only found it on the second to last night of our cruise.
  4. They also have an Aspen coffee. Espresso Kalua baileys and Francgelico. Topped with whipped cream. 😋
  5. Martini bar so crowded from 5 to 7 its sometimes hard to get a drink there nevermind a place to sit.
  6. I was on an RCI cruise last summer with my Grandson and was able to get a glass of wine with my HH benefits and he usually ordered a coke or a Shirley Temple. No charge for either. The red wine was a Robert Mondavi.
  7. So important for our kids to learn especially with such high credit card debt.
  8. That's a great price. I too an not keen on the IV but if the upgrade was not too expensive its worth it.
  9. If you have the first class visa then the rebate is $3.00 unless you keep 3K in the USD account at all times. Another point of consideration is when traveling abroad (Europe) and making a purchase if the terminal gives you a choice of paying in CAD or Euros choose Euros as the conversation rate will be crappy. The bank will convert unfavorably if you choose to pay in Canadian $. Found out the hard way. Was in a rush and not paying attention.
  10. The fee is $4.95 US a month but waived if you keep $3000 in it at all times. I've only had both cards just over a month so will see how it works for me when I cruise in October.
  11. I just returned from a cruise last month and made a purchase of $2000 on my home trust visa card. The rate used was 1.3675.
  12. If you have the TD borderless account the rate is 1.3952. Currency exchange kiosk is 1.3895 and simplii financial is 1.4160. I just don't like carrying a lot of cash around when traveling so will use the US visa to pay my onboard account and a couple meals out.
  13. I buy my US cash from a currency exchange kiosk. They give an extra half % off for seniors every Monday. Still better than any bank's rate. Fortunately the TD bank is close enough for me to walk so I can just deposit when funds are low.
  14. I always take unopened bottles of water to my cabin for the next day. Don't drink sodas. One poster said he carries a tote bag and loads up.
  15. Thanks for the info. I have a couple of cruises coming up later this year and normally my bill is under $500 many times its just gratuities and the odd drink. I'll put some cash down and pay the rest on my CC.
  16. I have the borderless account and keep 3K in US funds at all times to avoid transaction fees and will use that to pay my US visa. The whole point of getting that card was to pay for my cruise account from the cash in the borderless but if the card gets converted to Canadian then US its really pointless and becomes extremely expensive. What concerns me is the charges are all done through a computer system and it would recognize my card as a Canadian card issued by a Canadian bank.
  17. What about paying your onboard account with a USD account issued by a Canadian bank? I just got the TD USD visa card but if I use it onboard does the system recognize it as a Canadian or US card. The first two numbers are 45 which all Canadian visa cards start with.
  18. I recently booked the wine tour for the Ascent. When I inquired once onboard I was told it was never offered on E class ships and they would switch me to the food and wine pairing at no extra cost. Questioned it the next day and another guest relations person said it was cancelled due to lack of interest. Finally saw it in the planner and there were over 200 guests in attendance. 😆 yep. They sure don't know what they're doing.
  19. I had sushi for lunch at raw on 5 when I was on the beyond in March. Not impressed so skipped it on my Ascent cruise a couple weeks ago. I get better tasting sushi from my local grocery store with better presentation. Also, service was slow.
  20. I happened to be walking past the Mast Grill last week on the Ascent 13 night TA. They were preparing all the veggies for the Magic Carpet dinner which I heard was overpriced at $129 per person. Seems you're paying more for the experience than the food. I could have done a better job at home of those grilled veggies which would be cold upon serving.
  21. The prime rib in the MDR wasn't good either. I sent it back and ordered pasta.
  22. I would not do the wine tour again but for different reasons. It was offered on my very recent Ascent cruise in Eden right out in the open with others not on the tour sitting at the bar. Appeared to be a couple hundred in attendance. Very poor quality wines I tried 5 out of the 12 they had. I spent the hour eating some snacks and chatting with another couple. Most people cleared out within 40 minutes. Another money grab for Celebrity.
  23. You are correct just read disclosure statement and it says foreign currency transactions not eligible for cash back.
  24. No I use TD Canada trust and now have the US visa card but in order to avoid monthly fees and waive annual fee you must keep 3K in a borderless account at all times. It used to be 5K so obviously they've lowered it.
  25. I also have the home trust visa which I am considering canceling now. Just returned from a TA on the Ascent on Saturday. Last week tried to put a rather large purchase on it and it wouldn't go through. Called several different numbers and finally reached a foreign country who said it would take 10 business days get an increase in line of credit approved so put balance on my TD first class visa.
