  1. Embarkation port only any other and will be confiscated till end of cruise.
  2. I booked the Renaissance yesterday price dropped by $25 and I'm a marriott rewards member
  3. Of course not this is all new to everyone so better to be safe than sorry. I was recently on a cruise to Hawaii some guests were not even asked for proof of tests.
  4. @Oceangoer2For those who collect points and don't travel or wish to buy merchandise with rewards points you can choose to redeem to pay down your credit card statement.
  5. You can still continue collecting points but it won't be 3 points per dollar for everything. Best to log on to their site and compare. One thing for sure if you use current points to pay of CC you will lose some of the value.
  6. @Oceangoer2not at all. I have the TD first class infinite card and there are some changes coming effective October 30. The biggest one is the annual fee and it doesn't effect me, is going up to $139 from $120. The points earned on their booking site is decreasing by 1 point to 8. Gas, restaurant and grocery purchases are increasing 3 points so that's great if you eat out a lot. All other purchases are decreasing by 1 point. I am going to compare this to the TD aeroplan card to see if it makes sense for me to switch. I fly Air Canada a lot and free first checked bag is appealing. I just returned from Amsterdam last week on AC and paid $155 for 1 piece of checked luggage.
  7. Its always there even if I book on the Hilton site it states resort fee is payable at hotel or if I pay in CAD the charge is at exchange rate of 1.3022. I stayed in January and had an excellent rate which included a hot breakfast for two people. I went slightly over the $20 limit for a drink and a coffee so paid the difference which was minimal. Having said all this I have a lot of points on my CC which I want to use by October as the bank is changing the terms of the card then and I will probably switch cards at that time.
  8. I'm sailing out of Fort Lauderdale so can self test 3 days prior. Will take a video
  9. Hilton has always charged a $30 USD resort fee. Sometimes its added to your booking upfront so unless you break down the charges you will not see it.
  10. @-Lew-would you recommend Hyatt place 1 night pre cruise? I need to book something soon for September and now it's a toss up between Renaissance and Hilton both on 17th Street. If the Hilton was a decent price I'd stay there but don't want to pay the $30 resort fee although it has been renovated and is very nice.
  11. @ssbeard1also Einstein bagels for breakfast and Southport raw bar both walking distance. The boatyard is pricey I ate there this past January.
  12. I would live to see the testing come to an end but not at the expense of having incorrect documentation at the pier and being denied boarding.
  13. They only mention it when you check in. I did forget to mention that the resort fee also covers wifi but I already have it with my Hilton Honors.
  14. All I know is the premium package covers drinks up to $15. On a couple of occasions when I was at the Sky lounge I was able to get martinis not covered by the Elite drinks package.
  15. Thats odd. My Hawaii cruise on the Eclipse in May did not offer anything during HH at the Sky Lounge. I will be on the Equinox in September so will make a point of checking it out.
  16. Its actually quite a long walk if you have mobility issues not sure about the steps but I wouldn't worry about that as they will help you on and off the water taxi.
  17. I'm afraid it may be a thing of the past. I've done 3 cruises on S class ships since covid and it has not been staffed during HH on any of my sailings and I used to enjoy mingling with other guests there even did shore excursions with a couple I met.
  18. I've been on most of the S class ships in a balcony cabin anywhere from mid ship to aft and never had issues with noise. Just make sure when you book your deck or location has cabins below and above and you won't go wrong.
  19. @Ipeeinthepoolsdo you need my email address?
  20. Are you kidding? Honour system. That's pretty scary 😳
  21. Is it time stamped and dated? If not it could be anyone's test.
  22. Mine is 10 nights so will do a self test but how do you provide proof, etc. I've never done one but have kits at home
  23. On my last 2 cruises the bar in the Sky lounge was not even open during HH.
  24. They have always had a resort fee and I have stayed there several times. $20 of the fee can be used towards food and drink but if one doesn't use it they will still charge the full amount on check out. Part of that fee is for the use of pool towels.
  25. I'm debating whether to stay at The Riverside or Renaissance Fort Lauderdale. Prices are about the same.
