Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Well - to answer my own question lol NCL just replied and said this 🙂 so I’ll print this out and bring with me posting here in case someone else has this query “YesAirline approved batteries are allowed on board the ship”
  2. We have two cruises booked. NCL and Celebrity. I found Celebrity so easy to navigate to give details of my scooter ( a 39 pound 17 inch wide folding scooter with a Lithium Ion 278 watt hours airline approved battery - which is classed as dry cell - all good ) NCL form is a nightmare - as NCL often are !! and we are Sapphire so we should be used to this lol but its the first time I need to use a scooter . I have sent them an email to ensure my scooter battery can cruise travel as we spend 2/ 3 weeks on land where I need the scooter most and then finish up with a cruise so scooter rental is not an option. All airlines have said yes. A Google search and searches on here returned an extremely limited amount of info. Anyone know for sure please ? Anyone who has dealt with NCL will know a different rep will give a completely different response so Id like some third party experiences
  3. I have an inside booked for one person on the Epic transatlantic in April. If the price drops after final payment and I add on a second adult at that time and we upgrade to a club suite, do NCL reprice the cruise at that dates lower going rate ?
  4. Oh and the ship REALLY moved a lot. Very uncomfortable most evenings. Having cruised 7 times in 14 months, this ship required seasickness pills every day whereas none of the other ships did
  5. On the Sun last month it was back to an in person muster at 5pm ish loved just getting on board the ship and going straight to the muster station after watching the video at home
  6. The cruise director for one. Entertainment never flowed. They used the tiny Windjammer bar for the incredibly popular Raime ( so no free seats etc ) and wasted the lovely Spinnaker bar at the front for karaoke every night (virtually empty) Most of the speciality restaurants are all one big room, separated by a partition and different furniture ! No prizes for trivia Not keen on decor. Small atrium ( as an older ship ) Food good but not great like others. Ship had a funky smell to it when we got on. They do embarkations at various ports so felt more like a ferry than a cruise that we all got on at once. The ONLY positive for me was the outstanding itinerary ( Canaries ) and we did 8 excursions. I was on the similar Sky in October ( Caribbean ) and that was much better Tiny buffet too edited - interestingly myself and separate cabin cruiser mate both did not get a post cruise survey … clearly they dont want to know its failings ! If this had been my first NCL - Id not book with them again.
  7. Ive been on 7 cruises in the last 14 months. Epic, Breakaway, Escape, Epic, Escape, Sky and Sun. The Sun was my least favourite of all ships by fat and Id not sail on it again.
  8. Oh fantastic !!! great spot - thank you very much for posting ! 🙂
  9. Im a UK Amex member and I have saved this deal down. Im about to make final payment on a transatlantic from NY what does “Journeys departing from UK mean?” only sailings out of UK ?
  10. I have to cancel a couple of cruises for other reasons, but Im asking this change coupled with an increase in service charges are my reasons to cancel and ask that be fed up.
  11. Ive already changed my December NCL TA to a Canary Islands cruise instead as Bermuda was still listed. I’ll spend my money in Europe instead. I have another TA in April and will be changing that if Bermuda is still included. Im not going to go to the expense of flying all the way to New York from the UK only to get there and possibly test positive and not able to board the ship and then have to sort a flight home. I have absolutely no desire to visit Bermuda on a TA.
  12. I suspect its a very small percentage too considering the amount of people on this thread anxious to prepay tips to avoid a negligible yearly increase and get away with paying the old rate
  13. Good !! I was booked on an NCL calling at Bermuda for 6.5 hours in Dec. Its still showing on the itinerary, so I changed my cruise to a Canary Islands 11 nighter instead and can look forward to my cruise rather than fretting about tests etc and cruise being abandoned and making contingency plans.
