  1. In the UK market we've had the NHS (Healthcare) discount applied alongside Voyagers Club discount on all three cruises booked recently. 1st time was given automatically second and third time we had to ask but got it. You only get 10% discount where "you're paying for the balcony" the guy told us for future reference and where its a free balcony upgrade you only get 5%. This was booking through MSC directly.
  2. That's a tremendous price. I wonder when I see these shirt cruises who books them and how do they get to and from them.
  3. Hi @lotstockI wasn't sure if we were able to do that?
  4. I've not done a short cruise but I believe all the benefits stated apply to all cruises.
  5. Wish they'd bring this offer to UK market
  6. Hey in most recent cruises there were no envelopes. You're very likely to get the same waiter and asst waiter in the MDR. Not sure I'd you're US or UK. In UK gratuities are included in fare but some will choose to tip separately individual crew members.
  7. Not necessarily true. I can smell a can of coke opened the other side of the office. I too can smell people smoking in their cars windows down...
  8. Whilst I can see how this could be annoying, I doubt whether this guy is actually out chain smoking cigars. For one, their not cheap, and for two, not many cigar smokers smoke one literally after the other.
  9. Don't forget your cigars
  10. I think when you book you choose early or late stated as 7.45 (as a preference) but onboard it is actually 8.30 - at least it was for me
  11. Okay I would agree then the guy is an *****.
  12. I don't want to infuriate people more, but has anyone asked the gentleman if he could smoke cigars inside? As in a fellow passenger.
  13. Looking on wayback machine this was the offer last November for US market.
  14. I tried using wayback machine to see what deals were available last November but alas the site isn't archived on the right dates. Keen to know what BF deals were offered to UK market last year.
  15. I more meant why do you think he is a slob / what is he doing that's slobbish?
  16. Well it is - as the "annoyance" must be restricted to certain times. Unless it;s groucho marx onboard I doubt he smokes more than 2 a day. Why is he a slob btw?
  17. I don't think that's the point - I'm just saying logically the offending guy can't be out there cigar chomping for 24 hours a day.
  18. Wow - that's great thanks @8420PR - out of interest what ones have you booked? I like the look of the short one from Southampton to Cork.
  19. TBH you should try out the MDR and buffet options. You might find that you enjoy them.
  20. Surely he can't be in the offending area 24 hours a day or does he have unlimited cigars?
  21. Wow that sounds an incredible deal. It all depends on what you want. If you're on your own and not a big drinker you could use your OBC for drinks, speciality dinning etc. What is it you're thinking of booking?
  22. I was not in YC on a recent cruise (can't believe that makes a difference) I had the premium internet - as too needed to work briefly. It was unusable for work. Had to hotspot off my phone. Internet tends to be okay first thing in the morning, and tends to be usable from 5pm-7pm whilst a lot of people are at dinner. Outside of those times it's not stable enough to work off.
  23. From SS's own website: Smoking Policies Most areas on board are non-smoking, and smoking is not permitted in guest suites or guest suite verandas or balconies. However, cigarette, cigar, electronic cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in the Connoisseur's Corner and in specifically designated areas. These areas include designated tables outside of the Panorama Lounge and the Pool Bar, as well as on open Decks 9 and 10 aboard Silver Spirit, Silver Whisper, Silver Shadow and Silver Muse; on open Deck 9 aboard Silver Cloud and Silver Wind; in specifically-designated outside areas on Decks 5 and 6 aboard Silver Explorer; in a designated outside area on Deck 4 aboard Silver Galapagos; and in the designated smoking area on Deck 6 on Silver Discoverer. So the gentleman in question is breaking no rules.
  24. I'm sorry but it's nothing short of hysterical that the anti-cigar brigade conclude the cigar smoking villain is major shareholder, or otherwise rich and powerful and therefore acting above the law and all things decent by smoking a legal product, in an area according to the screenshot uploaded is permitted. I understand cigar smoke might be unpleasant for some, but it sounds as if the guy is doing it outside. I just can't believe the smell is that ruinous to someones cruise.
