  1. Show's in the Red Room were at 9:30 on my cruise except for one night when there were two showing of Duel Reality.
  2. On the aft yes, but the mid ship in the renderings has the bump outs on deck 7, while it looks like they have been eliminated in the final build. VV didn't really take advantage of that area the way NCL and MSC did with pools and hot tubs, so I'm thinking it won't be too big of a loss.
  3. That's great! You can see it in this video at about 15:50
  4. The link below has an actual pic of the Brilliant Lady at the ship yard. It looks like they may have eliminated the aft overhang on the sides of the ship as well as the mid-ship overhangs that are just outside the roundabout on deck 7 ( I liked that area but it seemed to be rarely used). https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/3500062?page=1&navList=homePhotoFooter&list=latest&timestamp=1669732500
  5. That third pic is an old rendering they've been using since at least before the Valiant Lady launched.
  6. Certainly passengers prefer the older historic locks, so maybe that's what they're going for. It would be a big change through as a ship can't be wider than 106 ft.
  7. Still makes no sense, as the Norwegian Bliss which is much larger in every dimension has sailed through the canal.
  8. Reddit is not the best source for information. At 125ft wide all of the lady ships can easily fit through the Panama Canal new locks which are 180 ft wide. Here is a link to the ship builder website which mentions the ship is identical. https://www.fincantieri.com/en/media/press-releases/2022/fincantieri-brilliant-lady-floated-out-in-sestri-ponente/
  9. Brilliant Lady is identical to the other ships.
  10. I saw that too. Should be renamed the Rust Bucket Princess. Anyone know what the crane ship that was pulled up to the Emerald was for?
  11. I read this article months ago, but would take it with a grain of salt. It's from three years ago and mentions VV and the Port of San Diego in talks with one another. It would be great me though😊 https://www.thelog.com/local/port-of-san-diego-contemplates-exchanging-marinas-for-cruise-ports/
  12. People were smoking cigars in both areas on my cruise. Not sure about shisha.
  13. Maybe they should eliminate the "whole cruise" option. Seems like it would be put to better use if people only booked the times that they plan on using it and it would increase capacity.
  14. If you think vaping is bad, you won't believe what your breathing in from the ships funnel.💨
  15. Looks like Princess is done sailing from San Diego now that the Diamond has returned to Japan.😔
  16. Aside from the mobile phones this sounds exactly like Virgin Voyages 🙃
  17. I disagree! Food is delicious. 😋 Best you'll get on any cruise line owned island/beach. IMO of course😀
  18. Does anyone know if you can eat at the bar in Razzle Dazzle and Extra Virgin?
  19. Exactly, and this is true of bars on land too. Sometimes you can get a really good deal when ordering a cocktail off-menu at a bar.
  20. Airfare to Europe is insane right now. It could have something to do with it. Also, Brilliant Lady is the fourth of four almost identical ships. That could make being on the Mermaiden Voyage less special to some.
  21. I'm a bartender for 17 years now and am always on the lookout for properly made cocktails. While I didn't order any martinis, I found the best cocktails to be made at On the Rocks. It was last month and there was a medium build Asian male bartender who made excellent Manhattans (stirred of course).
  22. I was on Valiant Feb25-March-5. I think it was the first cruise with the new system. If I wasn't greeted upon sitting down, someone was there almost instantly when raising the flag. I didn't know that it wasn't always that way so I was surprised that people had had trouble on previous cruises.
  23. Awe that brings me back! Such a great day with delicious food😃
  24. It looks like Disney is coming in with all guns blazing. I hope they are successful where so many other cruise lines have failed in Asia. Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Costa, and Princess all built mega-ships specifically designed for the region and all but one ship from Royal Caribbean (Spectrum of the Seas) failed and were quickly withdrawn and sent to other areas shortly after debuting. The industry in Singapore is certainly much more stable than China, but it will definitely be a challenge filling such a large ship that does not have a casino. I hope I'm wrong.
