Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Everything is already priced in so when there's a surprise the stock moves more than usual. Good news is bad when it's not good enough. Bad news is good when it's not so bad. Then there's looking at the future and what the price should be. I bought 100 shares. It'll probably go down more but I lost so much more in the casino on this cruise. 11 more days to go...
  2. Maybe they mean without other people. On the Prima transatlantic I’m on heading to Iceland there’s one guy out there the times I’ve looked around midday. One guy, two hot tubs. The bartender could use the other one if he wanted.
  3. For Manhattan NY a few days ago, once I got past security which only had Haven and not Haven lines and they didn't check boarding times, I used the casino line. The usher didn't check my boarding pass at all. The sign didn't say Pearl or above. I couldn't tell if the agent did anything with the casino status because they processed the Latitudes priority and casino lines together. But after that, we still waited to board the ship and casino seemed to be behind Latitudes people. It was kind of a ship show on this boarding. I don't know how they do it if many more people are there and everything's backed up. Next time I'll.... Ignore the boarding time and get there early to get through security ASAP. Use the casino line if it seems shorter than Latitudes (I'm Shapphire). Board the ship with the group that goes first. (Casino or Shapphire but I'm guessing Latitudes).
  4. I just matched my Crown and Anchor Sapphire to MGM Gold. I'm hoping I can do something similar with Unity. It might be casino status to casino status though. My Prime might not get much on Unity.
  5. I would love more transparency on what the port fees, taxes, etc. for each port are... it seems higher on NCL than other lines. This change seems like a good way to hide this if in fact NCL's are higher. Oh and "expenses" sounds so sketchy.
  6. It depends if they did anything differently for a longer cruise or a transatlantic? For better or worse. Personally I never noticed anything different from a shorter cruise. Does anyone know? Is there any extra cleaning or maybe they change the bedding out completely in the middle?
  7. A few hours before my flight NCL sent a confirmation with the wrong flight time! Maybe it's a JetBlue thing but I guess I should double and triple check everything and do it often. Having a middleman isn't always a good thing.
  8. You can get the refundable OBC online as a gift to yourself. The max is $500 but you can buy two. I also have the nonrefundable shareholder OBC and usually just burn it on Internet but you can use it on excursions, shopping, etc. It'll automatically take from that first before hitting the refundable OBC.
  9. It depends but I have asked and gotten the following: Two entrees at the same place for one dinner while solo (Onda on the Spirit) Two meals at different times using one voucher because I was solo (Food Republic on the Bliss) It's a bit much given the amount of food so I don't do it every time.
  10. For the Latitudes people that get the 1 free bag, have you tried more than 1? I was on a 14 nighter and to my surprise they let me get away with 2 bags. The second bag didn't even have the voucher and was later in the cruise. Maybe I'll try 3 next time. Was it because it was a long cruise? Is this unofficial? Is more than 2 free possible?
  11. No but the FAQ clearly says: "The Shareholder must own Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) stock at the time of sailing." It doesn't say you have to be owning it the whole time. People do book cruises years in advance. I should note the form you sign and submit doesn't say anything about this or even that you are agreeing to the terms and conditions. Then again, it also says singles paying 200% are entitled to the full OBC but I've always received the full amount paying less. I guess they can do whatever they want. I email a photo of the form and a screenshot of a relatively recent statement. I doubt they care since they are very liberal in granting this. I've gotten it for casino cruises that were heavily discounted. Others have gotten it even on comped cruises. Other lines like Royal and Carnival do not allow this. So far I've taken the OBC maybe a dozen times only to give back some of it when the stock goes down so there's some risk. Fortunately I didn't own it pre-pandemic.
  12. I’m surprised at the responses. I would panic. Does this happen when you call? It hasn’t for me. I would think if they were trained properly they would know how to check prices, availability, etc. without a courtesy hold.
