  1. Thanks for the comments and I agree. Basically my offers are based on casino play and the cruise costs I am seeing are quite a bit higher than 2024 but then again cruise prices have gone up also.
  2. Looking at cruises for next year, it appears costs are up, ships are filling up with minimum deposits, and my offers are not as good as 2024. The issue with casino offers is you have to pay in full. If I wait to book then the cabin location may not be available. Will offers improve, will costs go down, will people cancel? I guess I could book with insurance and if I need to cancel either get my money back or get a future credit.
  3. Agree - the tour company said others are coming that aren’t on the cruise ship so they were going to stay with their time. I have a tour booked so no big deal. Also if it is really rough we can forgo the tour.
  4. Exactly why I did book a different tour where I can pay at the dock.
  5. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I just decided I’d rather have more options!
  6. I would also get them on chat - use every channel. I just googled carnival mgt and found the Senior Director of Customer Care with Carnival and her name is Arlene Brown. Email addresses arlenebrown@carnival.com and ABrown@carnival .com. You never know, you may not get any help but if a response is promised then it should be honored.
  7. Update - thank you all for your input. I have decided to cancel my original tour and book with another tour that requires payment at the dock the day of the tour. It was a gamble whether the ship docks on time, gets cleared and we get off the ship and to the meeting point on time. To stressful for this gambler and the alternate tour is well rated and as I mentioned you pay at the dock. So if the ship doesn’t make it on time, doesn’t get cleared on time etc - I’m not out my money but I also don’t get to go on the tour 🙁
  8. I would hope they would arrive early so passengers can get off the ship around 8 since it shows being in port from 8-5. But then again maybe I’m just wishing.
  9. Thanks and I agree. Meeting place is real close and I should have till 8:40 to get there with at most 5 min walk. 🍸
  10. Well the port is the Azores and it is a dock. They won’t wait but I am a gambler! Just curious what is the normal time to get off ship if ship docks at 8? Thanks all
  11. Can I make it to an 8:30 non-cruise ship tour? The tour meet is 3 min from dock and check in is at 8:30 and boarding is 10 min later.

  13. I get that but like the airlines they factor that into seating ie if you get to choose your seats you pay more on Southwest. I’m just saying there is a better way to handle this issue that is both fair to the cruiser and cruise line.
  14. Totally agree. Simple solution would be different prices for various types of cabins based on location, obstruction, 2/3/4 people etc. The airlines are a perfect example of how this works. additionally, this is what cause issues with customer service cause it does depend on who you get on the phone and how that person feels that day. When there are no clear cut rules - a squeaky wheel gets the grease (people start raising cain and oftentimes that works).
  15. Absolutely if I owned a business I would want to maximize revenue. However; in business it is very common that in a situation like this you pay less up front if the possibility exists that you may get bumped. I seriously doubt when she booked her cabin she paid less because of this risk.
  16. If you have had any meat options in the MDR - how has the quality of beef been?
  17. That’s an interesting discussion - I have the card also and asked a question about 3 month travel in Europe. Go back and read my post as I got some good info on the Chase card. I read Chase covers travel but specifics matter as insuring end to end travel. I hope others chime in on the coverage also.
  18. I would also include it depends on if you are only insuring your cruise or are you traveling in addition to your cruise. In that case, it’s probably better to get coverage for your total travel time and not just cruise ship insurance. BTW we use World Nomads.
  19. Caribbean does - sailed it last July.
  20. All the balcony cabins I have been in have them - not sure about the new Sun(which has a glass door).
  21. I wonder what the quality of the NY Strip. I have avoided the steak options the last few years as the quality has gone down hill.
