  1. Since we must fly to cruise Cunard, and have just purchased a black tux I can’t imagine buying a white jacket and packing it in additionally. We are already at 4 large pieces of luggage for a 16 day trip. @lissie I know you can do it in much much less. I can’t in cold weather.
  2. I logged into our booking and can’t find it - but, perhaps I’m not looking in the proper place. Would be part of the boarding pass/payment/picture process? If so, I’ve completed all of those parts and don’t see the health check.
  3. QM2 M318 July 31, 2023 - Gala - Black and White July 5, 2023 - Gala - Unspecified at this time
  4. @D&N Oh my word - a virtual tree! I need it on my iPad for the cruise! (I must admit I’ve packed a small length of the homemade garland to wrap around…???…in our cabin.)
  5. @Bigmike911 We were at F&M around Easter a few years ago and would have loved the hampers. We’re going to prepared to purchase this year. Our church had our annual Swedish Breakfast charity event this Saturday and we were short handed. I enlisted our son and daughter in-law to wash dishes for 3 hours. I think they deserve a nice hamper in thanks. Thanks for the heads up about not being able to ship anything with alcohol. That makes perfect sense. @Host Hattie I wish you were going on Saturday! We might bump into each other.
  6. @Bigmike911 The website says they can ship to the U.S. for 25. which is not a bad deal. We thought about ordering from the website but it will be more fun in person. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. @richard_london pay extra for “comfort and service” ?! I would hope that is part of every cruise for everyone. Comfort? Well, maybe a bed with no mattress or cold water only in the shower. Service. Come to think of it on Celebrity this summer we could elect to only have the room serviced once per day rather than twice.
  8. Yeah Mr. Tonopah! @D&N I’m having trouble visualizing the tree. Upload a picture please?
  9. We’ve always celebrated Advent with the wreath and readings. I still have the nightly prayer of thanks I received in Sunday school as a little girl. We love sitting by the tree, with a fire, John Rutter carols, and a good book in the evening. The longer it is up the better. Although, no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving.
  10. Thanks @BigMac1953. I’m really excited about this and hope it happens. Problem: What would we do with it? Our walls are covered with paintings of sailing ships!
  11. @fourmile.ranch Thanks for posting those pictures. I don’t think I would be happy with those cabins. 😞
  12. @longton Thanks for sharing this information. I hope there is an auction on our TA this month. I will have a paddle in hand!
  13. @Bigmike911 So good to hear from you! I’m glad you’re getting the rain you need. We had our first snow this week, and I’m looking at a skiff on the sidewalk this morning. Seattle doesn’t work well with snow due to the steep hills. I need to go to the drug store today and I’m not looking forward to it. I decorated last weekend so the grand boys could enjoy. The tree has fewer breakable decorations this year and I had to whip out a dozen crocheted snow flakes which he moves from branch to branch. I have beautiful garland that had to remain in the box. The tree looked bare, so I cut up all of our homemade covid Christmas masks from the last 2 years, cut them into strips, and enlisted the 9 year old to help me create a truly memorable garland for the tree. One week from today we will be landing in London and then boarding QM2 on the 15th. Fortnum and Mason is on our list for next Saturday. Hampers will be shipped to family this Christmas. I’m excited to see London decorated for the season.
  14. @longton I’m going to be nosy and ask, “How much was your winning bid?” Feel free to tell me it isn’t any of my business. I ask because I would love to do this as a Christmas present for my DH, so it would need to be surprise. I don’t like losing at auctions.
  15. We carry a luggage scale with us whenever we travel. You hook it onto the handle and then lift. It has been very accurate. It fits easily in the front pocket of our luggage and weighs next to nothing. It allows me to pack without worry. I believe I bought it at a Staples store.
  16. @Tonopah I’m glad your life is starting to return to normal. I thought of you on Thanksgiving and the difficult times you are having. I am excited to read your novel review.
  17. December 15, QG, cruise #1 for us. Boarding pass says 12:45.
  18. @bluemarble Thank you! We board in 18 days. Thanks for the pictures!
  19. For me, early dining is too early, late is too late. As a diabetic I try to eat at the same time every evening which is 6:30. When we board I hope to book 6:30 for every night. We are assigned freedom dining on our booking. We aren’t big on attending shows and with rotator cuff tears there won’t be any ball room dancing! We shall see soon, 21 days.
  20. No, just no. Someone in the kitchen is out of control.
  21. @Poole Boy I hope all of this turns out well for you and the others on this cruise.
  22. @bluemarble That is an amazing pic. I hope you’ve enjoyed your day.
  23. Clue in a clueless American please.
  24. 21 pound turkey. Dinner at 5:00. Porcini, pork, apple and cranberry dressing. Lots of traditional. Magnum of 2011 Drouhin Louise Pinot Noir, Magnum of Schramsberg California Sparkling, 1977 Grahams Vintage Port. Dishwasher is running. More to be done in the morning. Soup to be made tomorrow. So wonderful to spend Thanksgiving with everyone. Good to hear from you @Bigmike911.
