Thanks ShazM I believe that the person who left the review was on a lower deck and referred to the lifeboats. -

Thank you all for good information. I had read somewhere that a passenger in this cabin number on a different Quantum ship said she could not look straight down and sea water just a lifeboat. -

Hello, US citizen sailing first time MSC Virtuosa October 22, 2023 from Southampton. I wish to make a cash deposit instead of credit card on board ship. Will I need to change money to pounds before boarding or will MSC convert, and if I do not use whole deposit will cash returned to me be in pounds? Thanks I searched🥰 and couldnt find a thread to answer my question only that I can make a cash deposit at Guest Services.

thanks for info. Need to book this week because also booked Symphony of Seas leaving Barcelona 10/29 to return USA and wanted an inexpensive cruise as a filler. Port intensive cruise so I wont fret. Maybe use room service for breakfast, I have some mobility issues and use a walker

Hello cant find where school holidays for UK are listed for October 2023. I am booked MSC Virtuosa 5 day October 22, would this time be a school break? Really inexpensive cruise rate just wondering why.

Thank you MAVIP for the detailed info. I believe this would be possible for me, Thanks again

Hi I am booked on MSC Virtuosa and would like to visit Delft from Rotterdam cruise port. It looks to be easy traveling by bus and metro. Ship is in port 8 hours. Cant find a tour that does this from Rotterdam. Any help or suggestions. I am 80 and use a walker.😆

Thanks Zach eases my mind on the retrieving luggage part. I am booked on Symphony of the Seas Barcelona to FL so I dont need to worry about return.

Hi am booked on TAP Portugal MIA to LHR October 17, 2023. (Great one-way Price) I have an almost 2 hour layover/ change in Lisbon. Question is, do I need to retrieve my bags in Lisbon for any reason. I know in US they would go straight through to my destination if on same airline. If my flight is delayed (which I understand TAP has a problem with) should I change my flight to include more layover time in Lisbon? If flight is delayed will TAP automatically board me on next flight available? I have requested wheelchair assistance. Just checking into hotel in London so no problem with later flight.

Hi Wayne, love your reviews and your family is wonderful. My friend and I are sailing the 1st of May repositioning cruise to Baltimore and just wondering if you remember what movies were playing on the pool deck. We are both 80 years old and dancing with headphones although we might do it, watching a movie is more our speed🤪

Hi Island2Dweller you are the person who can give me the info I need. I am an 80 year old solo lady using a mobility walker havent been to Europe in many years. Will be flying from Miami to LHR in October to board a cruise in Southampton. When I land in Heathrow do I retrieve my luggage first than immigration? Also what is the process when I fly BA from LHR to Barcelona for my second cruise 10 days later. Thanks for any info.

I am on Symphony of the Seas Oct 29th Barcelona to FLL. I wanted a cruise out of a Northern port to add on. Found a 5 day MSC that was very affordable. Flying from MIA to LHR on TAP Portugal with a few days in London and 2 days in Barcelona before cruise all for a very affordable vacation. Going Solo

I booked a cruise on Virtuosa and had no idea of 5% and $50.00. A happy surprise!!😃

LHR to Southampton. Does this plan make sense?
skings replied to emmak8's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
Okay Budget wise I have booked Holiday Inn Express Adanac Park. I know you all say too far away but I have mobility issues so cant walk any distance so would need taxi or bus. In reading reviews of the hotel, customers mention a public bus stopping nearby. Can anyone verify? I would be arriving late day before my cruise so really no time to tour around and price is much lower in October than any other hotel. My next question is regarding MSC Virtuosa docking at Horizon havent seen any discussions of MSC cruises any feedback? Thanks. I have lots of time to plan before cruise. -
Very helpful thank you Canuker Sandra

Researched and found that the bus seems to be the best way to travel

Hello which would be easier for an 80 year old with a walker traveling solo? Southampton using public bus or train to Heathrow or Gatwick This would be the end of October. Any info would be helpful haventnt been to Europe in 40 years.

Hi will be disembarking from MSC cruise in Southampton on Oct 27, 2023 and needing to fly to Barcelona same day. Would bus or train to either Gatwick or Heathrow be less complicated. Cant afford private car although the vans that tour Salisbury and Windsor look interesting. Have hotel booked for Barcelona.
