  1. I think that is why it was so funny .. and it came that way, not once, not twice, but three times. not sure if it was a communication thing or if they just ran out of salsa. They were good, nevertheless.
  2. Don’t even try them! I swear .. I can be so good about resisting them if they never hit my plate. But if I order them .. I’m a goner! They are battered and crispy on the outside, just the right amount of salt and so tender on the inside. They are like the best fries ever and they’ve been served like that on two different ships .. so, I think it might be a fleetwide thing. I have been surprised at how good the stir fried veggies have been in the buffet lately. Seasoned to perfection and never overcooked. Wow! So good. And I agree, I would love that to be a choice on the app. I’m always getting their chicken noodle soup or a salad, just to avoid those delicious fries. Oh .. and for a good laugh, the cheese quesadilla comes with catchup instead of salsa. OMG .. so funny!
  3. that’s the same one I’ve been getting, too.
  4. Oh and they seem to have multi colored cauliflower in addition to the white stuff. it’s so very good! I oftentimes eat healthy on a cruise, too as there are so many wonderful options. Do NOT try their new French fries, though. They are killer good! I keep asking if there is a way to order a meal on the app without all that temptation on my plate.
  5. That’s correct .. open only on sea days. The roasted cauliflower has a wonderful flavored olive oil based drizzle on the plate and I can’t remember if the chicken tacos have cheese or not (I don’t think they do) but you could always order them without. They serve it with a mango salsa that is really good but I always ask for some jalapeños, as I love spicy food. We have also split an order of the calamari and it is also really good. I believe one of the sauces that comes with this is like a cocktail sauce .. so, you may want to skip the other two as they possible have dairy. These are all on small plates .. on the right side of the menu, they have other options available. The pasta olio (someone at our tables ordered it with shrimp) is really good as well. While we never really go to the MDR for breakfast or dinner, lunch on sea days is when I always have to go for my fix!
  6. I love the new lunch menu and usually order the same things, chicken tacos and roasted cauliflower! I’m craving them just thinking about it! The pub lunch day will have a different menu, if they have one. I didn’t see it at all on our last two cruises but, there weren’t many sea days on those cruises.
  7. Not to mention, if they were able to book it and go and something happened to them, the insurance company that covers the excursion would not have to pay out, as they violated the contract.
  8. I think it was on the Dawn or Ocean Princess but yes, their specialty restaurant was outside by the pool. If I recall correctly, it was like $15 pp.
  9. I can second that .. we’ve been on four cruises on her so far this year and everything is in tip top shape!
  10. I’ve been getting the same error .. it doesn’t even try to charge my credit card as we have the premier package but won’t go through to actually reserve the table. I think @memoak is correct .. they are trying to update the reservation system and it is causing some issues on our end.
  11. I was just going to take the QuickShuttle bus .. so private. I couldn’t see a PVSA violation but it ends up we decided not to fight it as we didn’t want to get up that far and be denied boarding. We found a wonderful hotel to stay at in Vancouver and so glad we took that option anyway. We don’t care much for cities but found a great little boutique hotel up there so, it ended up to be a very nice trip.
  12. I knew that was just a matter of time. While I will really miss the Noodle Bar, it is unlikely we will be sailing on the Majestic after this year. Plus, I discovered that the Discovery has a noodle bar in the buffet area that was open every day. And … it is so good!
  13. We were oversold once and they asked us who the seat belonged to and we said it was ours. We are average sized people but just cannot stand someone that is heavy spilling over into our seat and I can’t chance being next to someone with strong perfume or cologne on without having breathing issues. Anyway, they never asked if they could have our seat back. Depending on who they assigned to the seat (nobody that needed two seats and nobody doused in perfume), I would have sold it back to them.
  14. I wish I knew. The cruise when I finally discovered it had no children onboard. It was super quiet and relaxing.
  15. We have booked the two seats through EZ Air but booked the middle seat on our own. it ended up being a hassle because when using EZ Air, they’ve changed our flights so often and this time was no different. And when they change the plane out, the seats may not be next to one another. It works so well to buy that middle seat, especially when it is not pricey but things can go wrong.
  16. I understand the Enchanted has an Irish pub known as O’Malley’s. I would live to try that. The Majestic has the Hollywood Conservatory rather than a Sanctuary. Love that area so much.
  17. I love the Noodle Bar! I have 2 cruises booked on her this year so, will be sure to take advantage of that venue while it still exists.
  18. I think so as well but we had a great time, nevertheless.
  19. No, that is a violation and they won’t allow it. Of interest, I know others may argue with me on this, but wanted to tell you of my experience. We were to travel from Seattle roundtrip on the Royal, take the bus from Seattle to Vancouver to embark on the Majestic before disembarking in Los Angeles. We were informed it was not allowed even for the life of me, I could not see the violation. We had the option of disembarking in Vancouver to stay one night there, so we did that.
  20. I am happy for those onboard to see the generous compensation being offered. Princess seems to have stepped up to the plate on this one.
  21. At the risk of beating a dead horse, my comment was to imply that since the passengers have no control over the situation, they should make the best of the time they have onboard. As someone else stated in this thread, the only thing one has control over is their own attitude. Getting wound up into a tizzy, to the point that they can’t derive enjoyment out of anything, is not going to help the situation. True, some people need to just vent and once they’ve done that, they are able o move on and find some enjoyment, despite their disappointment.
  22. By having no control over the situation, I was referring to the passengers.
  23. Yes, it was PV where this happened. I’m not trying to say I am a badxxx but worked in very sketchy parts of town at times in my life and you just get desensitized to being yelled at for no good reason.
  24. Our worst tour was down in Mexico and they guide yelled us at for going outside of the shop where he wanted us to shop. He wasn’t going to continue the tour until everyone on the bus bought something from the shop he took us to. That didn’t fly with us .. we refused to buy any overpriced jewelry just because he got a kickback from the store owners. It really ticked him off when we went a few stores down and bought something there. Then, he took us to the tequila factory and sure enough, he was made we didn’t buy any tequila there, either. We paid for the tour but no tip .. then he yelled at us for not giving him a tip! We just kept walking. It was a terrible way of doing business. While we usually tip a decent amount for excursions, yelling at us doesn’t make us dig into our pockets. Maybe it works on some people, just not us.
