  1. Hi Selbourne, bit confused with this thread which ships are getting money back? Is it just those who booked on day one? Are some people saying there has been a price drop on day one bookings? I have just checked our Arcadia cruise in Oct 24 and the price for our cabin grade is £900pp higher than we paid. I have now checked some of our other cruises and none of them have gone below our price on day one.
  2. We are booked on Ventura in 25 as we did not fancy freedom dining for 35 nights. However having been on Iona for 3 weeks earlier this year we would have no hesitation in booking her for the 5 week cruise to the Caribbean.
  3. You brought it up to prove your point. So I pointed out that I cruise as much as you. Why make that comment?
  4. Yes as I do 6 a year was well. See my signature. Recently on Britannia, Iona, Aurora and Ventura.
  5. Was that recently? One wonders why they do not do it now as this would be the only time I can think of where there has been this kind of change. The town / local authorities seem to provide one now.
  6. Leaving the door open is not a good idea as it affects the air con / heating in a number of cabins on either side. P&O ask you not to do this.
  7. Selbourne going back to Haugesund, have P&O ever provided a shuttle in this port. To my mind P&O have not been to this port in the last 10/15 years apart from the recent cruises. Which I think is a because they cant get into Bergan because of the hight of the bridge in the fjord leading to the port.
  8. Odd is it not that the staff I knew from other ships were quite happy with Iona. I have never found staff to be much happier on smaller ships.
  9. Well Selbourne we loved the the atrium.
  10. You seem to have a great deal of faith in them. 🙂
  11. I have not had one either.
  12. Why not the ship is the same temperature as it is on Winter cruises to Norway. They air con can be fierce. Most people wear what they would wear on any formal night.
  13. I am afraid you may be too late. The recognition of P&O status stopped in 2017. You had to cruise with Princess before that date to retain your Princess status. I registered with them way back before 2010 but did not sail with them until 2016. So got in just in time. I is Elite. 🙂 after only 1 cruise. 🙂 . On the cruise we went on we were invited to the party for the top 10 most traveled passengers.
  14. Possibly I* am juicing up with the company you describe but I am not 100% sure
  15. Sorry but from what I have read the words ‘Barge Pole’ and ‘would not touch with’ come to mind.
  16. If there are a lot of Caribbean they are given slightly later times eg. 12.30. On Britannia recently the amount of people around when we arrived was light. That was at about 11.50 for 12.00. Just a small queue of very naughty people. Much as it had been on Iona.
  17. When there are 3+ in a cabin there is the usual making up of the spare bed. That has not stoped.
  18. Foe that one I suspect that the formal nights were set for B318 and not changed for B318N. Or rather not changed on the personaliser until late. When the question was asked on a forum I was on it was implied that some of the form nights appeared to be port days. I said that that was wrong and predicted the change that came.
  19. The maps were useless, speaking as a geographer. Not easy to read at all.
  20. I think not as they are not Mini suite equivalents. Even though the cabin was about the size of the one on Britiannia. Certainly no champagne.
  21. Formal nights tend always to be on a sea day. On very rare occasions they are on 0port days but only when one of the two sea days is the last day of the cruise on a & night cruise.
  22. Selbourne, you mentioned the water in the room, the free tins. We were in a cabin which on Princess would have been a mini suite. Like the D deck cabins 9on Ventura. You still get the Champagne and chocolates on departure day. In this cabin we got the tins of water, on both cruises.
  23. Our disembarkation on Crown Princess was an absolute shambles . They were late in getting the luggage off and so there’s were no porters to help. We were told by the staff on shore that we should have arranged assistance!!!! Major row time. Put us off them altogether. Never had any problem in any of our 50+ P&O disembarkations. We enjoyed Princess but it was no better than our P&O cruises.
