  1. Good to see you join in OB! No Light House pics yet, we are still in Alabama.🤣 Maybe sometime after boarding!
  2. I was looking for the sun all night last night..... and then it dawned on me!
  3. This is from a person that cruised Icon earlier in the week. She was in a wheelchair. "The elevator works fine, and after you get used to it, I think it is better than the old style. They even have it set to work for blind individuals." This is from someone currently on Icon. "The new elevators are fantastic. No more throngs of people pushing their way into each elevator then stopping at every floor. The most stops I have made is 2. Waiting an extra minute or two to get an elevator that then makes few stops is definitely a plus."
  4. WOW! That is so special. From the videos and from others on now, I think we will love it! Thanks again for sharing.
  5. On a scooter yes. Not even sure you could turn around in an elevator on a scooter. From actual experience, it is much easier to spin around in an elevator and much quicker than trying to back in. The electric wheelchair does a very tight 360. One tight spin and you are turned around. If I remember maybe I will have the opportunity to video the experience and post it here. It happens so quickly I will have to plan it before the doors open.
  6. I will surely check this out. I just noticed a great review on an Icon Accessible room posted here in the RC section. They were on the same deck. I loved seeing that she could go out on the balcony with the wheelchair and into the bathroom. Something I couldn't do on Voyager last October. It was also nice to see she rented the same wheelchair I am renting , Whill Ci2.
  7. Thank you so much for taking the time to video this and post it! We will be boarding this Saturday and will have an Accessible Balcony Room on Deck 12. I rented the same wheelchair. Last October out of Galveston I tried to rent the Whill Ci2 but without notice they subbed a Jazzy. I love seeing you able to get out on the balcony and into the bathroom. I love the size of Accessible Rooms. On our Live Review some are wondering about wheelchair accessibility. One asked about the ADA symbol on the elevator pad. How was your experience with the new elevator system. Feel welcome to post on the live.
  8. I will be renting a wheelchair this cruise so I will try to remember to post here my experience on the elevators and other places. Usually the 1st and last day is a challenge. On Voyager last October I only ran over toes twice when spinning around in the elevator. 😆
  9. I am happy to see a plug next to the bed. Means I won't have to hang a cord across the ceiling to be able to plug in my Trilogy (CPAP)!
  10. would that be a good sail away area for us all to meet at?
  11. Sorry for the misunderstanding. We are visiting family in Huntsville. Sharon has over 30 family members in Huntsville. We will spend 2 nights at her Mom and sister's house. Our usual cruise couple friends are cruising with us but due to work they will be taking a different flight. Even without taking kids with us I bet this "kid" will love it! 😆
  12. I am pretty sure that I got the idea on this thread. The handheld luggage weigher is so nice. We are packed and on the road. We are taking the trip to Miami in steps so hopefully I conserve enough energy. We plan to be in Huntsville Al tonight, spend a day Thursday with family and then drive to Nashville for a direct flight Friday evening. If all goes well all should be good to go Saturday morning. I am sure my energy will surge as we meet up with @FromSea2ShiningSea H & M, start exploring the ship, and see the others we all know. Exciting!
  13. When people lately heard I am cruising again they ask, where are you going? I had to think about it. I told them it's more about the ship. We have been to St Thomas and Cococay enough that we plan to stay on the ship. St. Kitts has been on our itinerary before but got canceled so we plan to get off there.
  14. Wow crazy. I can't imagine eating 32 oz of meat.
  15. @dani negreanu So thankful to see you find the opportunity to spend time with your family! Nothing is more special especially in trying times.
  16. Maybe they are waiting for Ken to finish his Chops dinner. @Ourusualbeach Did we miss something? It's not three days at port is it. I don't ever remember a Royal Caribbean ship leaving this late.
  17. I have not heard what time tonight. I am surprised it hasn't yet. My pics from last Saturday showed it was to sail at 6pm and I have pics of it headed out at 18:30 or 6:30pm. makes me wonder when we head out Saturday.
  18. You still have a chance to see the Icon and Ken cruising out of Port Miami.
  19. That would be nice not having to wait until 1pm.
  20. What does your sister think 🤔 of the Icon so far? See if you can find a good sail away spot. One where we can easily get some Peach Daiquiri. 😆
  21. Thanks for posting. I have always loved slides. Since my mobility has changed the odds of enjoying the slides has really dropped. It looks like the raft slides may work.
  22. I missed it. I didn't know it was happening. I did notice they waited until it got dark before they left.
