  1. Yeah, I guess we won't try it at those prices. I thought $29 was high especially after you have "paid" for your DR meal. And I guess I'm comparing to what I know with Princess, but I am surprised everything it seems on Celebrity is significantly higher than I am used to. Not complaining per se, just my observation. I am looking forward to trying Celebrity, even thought we wont' be eating in the DR or the Specialty Restaurants.
  2. So, question. We have the elevate package, which I guess is now the classic drink package. So I can ask the room steward to empty out the fridge of whatever is in there when we arrive, and stock it with water and whatever soft drinks we want (because of our package)?
  3. My only experience is with Princess, but everything seems higher. Princess charges $29 for their steak house, and it looks like Tuscan grill is $49 "on sale".
  4. And that is fine, 8:30 will be fine. We normally do express walk off, but like I said, our flight isn't till 11:30, so this will be different not rushing off the ship super early.
  5. The cruise planner online says $30 a day to upgrade, which seems outrageous to me given people's complaints that the upgraded internet still didn't allow them to surf. That seems super high to me for an "upgrade". I think the daily price for Princess, which is stream level is like $12 or something.
  6. We generally aren't much for onboard entertainment, normally just go back to our rooms to either watch the on demand options or stream. With Princess there are lots of on demand options, and generally could stream on the internet without much issue, but I have read on here that Celebrity doesn't have much TV options to offer, and even the stream internet isn't that good.
  7. Can you explain? On most of our cruises out of FLL, we have somewhere between a 9:30-10:30 flight, so doing walk off by 7:30 made it so we didn't have to sit around too long at the airport. With an 11:30 flight, not sure i see the need to get off the ship before around 9am. Am I missing something? Now with that said, on our last cruise in April, we had a 9:30 flight, was told the last night of the cruise that we would be as much as 3 hours late back to dock, so we tried to get our flight changed, but nothing available. Didn't end up getting off the ship till 8:20am, got to the airport by 8:45, and was in a long line at Delta. A rep raised her hand if anyone was on the 9:30 flight, and we and about 3 other got her attention, and she took us to an open lane and checked us through and we made the flight. Don't like to cut it that close, but figure if we are at the airport 2 hours before flight, that should be plenty. I think at FLL if you get there too early they don't let you go on to the gate, not sure if that is still true or not.
  8. I am looking forward to trying the food on Celebrity. I've always found Princess food to be okay, and plentiful, but not anything special. I do like the pizza though.
  9. Services meaning what? I assume they will serve breakfast in the buffet that morning, and as long as I can get more coffee, I probably wouldn't be looking for anything else that morning.
  10. If I wanted to upgrade one wifi plan from surf to stream, am I best to do that prior to boarding or after? I have read what seems like a discount to upgrade once onboard, but wasn't sure if that was true or not. Also, on disembarkation from FLL, with Princess, we have always done express walk off, take our own bags and leave the ship, does Celebrity do that as well? Our flight isn't till 11:30am, so we were thinking to just stay on the ship till 8:30 or 9 and then walk off. Is that do-able?
  11. You are welcome to drink to your heart's desire as long as it doesn't infringe on my vacation was my point. Edit: I have seen poor behavior from people who were obviously drunk, including some cursing and screaming at other guests and staff on several cruises, across several cruise lines. My point in my post was that allowing drink packages, while cash cows for the cruise lines, creates problems as well.
  12. And unfortunately, I think a lot of people view that they aren't driving or at real risk of falling overboard, they view it as the opportunity to drink to excess constantly, which ultimately causes poor behavior, and make the experience for responsible drinkers and non drinkers less enjoyable.
  13. I just read the packet you can download with your itinerary and their disclosures and such, and no where in the prohibited items did it mention extension cords or power strips, which I found interesting.
  14. Drink packages are cash cows for the cruise lines, but trouble for passengers.
  15. Do the fridges in staterooms have freezer compartments? We will be on the Infinity next month.
  16. I wonder if the A/C issues are mostly balcony cabins. I know with all the glass and the opening and closing of the doors, etc. We are in an inside cabin, and we generally have had better luck with the A/C keeping the room cooler in inside cabins than balconies, but our experience is only with Princess and not Celebrity.
  17. Yeah, it seems some people in comments have said it was good, and some not. Might depend on location as some sections might be having issues and some not. I'm not sure what I will do if we can get the temp down around 72 or lower in the cabin. I will have to talk to someone who will do something about it. Even just showering and getting ready for dinner in a warm room is miserable. We do take fans with us now on every cruise just to help.
  18. The current guidelines are if you are "fully vaccinated" for less than 10 day cruises you do not need a negative test.
  19. That can change from one week to the next
  20. I always have a couple of hotel room cards for this purpose as well.
  21. My understanding is with either drink package bottle water is included, so my plan is not to take any onboard, but just get several bottles and take back to my room from a bar.
  22. I alwasy take a couple of USB powered fans and never had an issue, but that was with Princess.
  23. Thanks for your review. Ugh, I was hoping the A/C issues were resolved. I would be banging the captain's door down if I had what you experienced. We board in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to be extremely upset if I have a warm cabin. I sure hope not as I'm looking forward to the cruise.
