  1. Good morning. Early riser this morning. Very good chance we will beat some heat records today. Interesting news story on Weather Channel yesterday about the drought they are having in Panama and how it is affecting the Panama Canal. The fresh water levels are getting low and they have had to cut back transients by 30%. So I hope they start getting some rainy weather as that really could mess up many things including some of our booked cruise. Toilet Paper? I’m going to leave that to @RedneckBob! We have enjoyed Copenhagen and have cruised from there. Will be watching NASCAR racing from Daytona tonight and will be cooking a favorite curry chicken dish. Thanks Rich for the Fleet report and for Vanessa’s detailed Care/Celebration list. Enjoy your weekend and stay cool and hydrated. Bruce.
  2. Was there in 1970 on R&R from Danang.Believe the club was around a river or there was water? I was SSGT E-5 at the time and pretty burned out and it was a much needed R&R.
  3. Have no clue as I stated in my post. Was just presenting a current issue the Canal is having. Plus I would presume transient reservations are done well in advance.
  4. Ray, I remember the great Mongolian BBQ’s at the Navy Club in Taipei. Great food and was like 50 cents a bowl if my memory is correct.
  5. There was a news feature on the Weather Channel this morning discussing the current drought in Panama and how it’s affecting the Panama Canal. Fresh water levels are down and they have to cut back on allowed shipping transits. I believe they stated 30%. Executives of the Canal discussed their concerns that it could worsen if drought continues. We are transiting the Canal in January and that could affect our World Cruise itinerary. No idea if drought is why Koningsdam itinerary change but it would make sense to cut back on partial transits before shipping that requires full passage.
  6. @Live4cruises Disturbing to hear of your DH’s fall. I had a fall earlier this year on a cruise. I was so fortunate that I didn’t have some serious injury. Let him know that some strangers care and are praying for him. Many of us need to be really alert while walking and always use a hand on a support rail or bannister. Bruce
  7. Different processing centers. Some better then others.
  8. Not everyone will get this. The one person you don’t want to see in your hometown during Hurricane season.
  9. Good morning. A late start this morning. Currently 82 and will climb to 96 later today. Keeping an eye on the tropics as there is a system that has a 70% chance of developing and entering the Gulf. There is also another system that could cause problems for our friends living in the Maritimes. Tis the season. Spent a week in Taipei many years ago and those photos are all on slides which I’m getting ready to toss. Received our renewed passports yesterday so that was a relief and will allow us to start applying for visas for our upcoming travels. Thanks Rich for the start and thoughts and prayer for all who are experiencing some significant issues and decisions these days. Have a great Friday and weekend. Bruce
  10. FYI. Need to renew your passport? We did. Submitted June 29 and paid extra for priority mail and processing. Received our new passports today Aug. 24. Message is don’t procrastinate as it’s a rather slow process.
  11. FYI. Need to renew passports? We did. Submitted June 29 paying extra for priority mailing and processing. We received our new passports today Aug 24. Just saying don’t procrastinate as processing takes awhile.
  12. FYI. Need new passports? We submitted our for priority processing and mailed them June 30th and they were just delivered today Aug 24. Message? Don’t procrastinate it’s not a few days process.
  13. Plan on bringing blazer and open collar dress shirt for what they call their formal night. So our plans are basically dress as we would on Azamara. I’m done with tuxedos.
  14. Good morning. Had a great visit with a dear friend at his home on the bay. While there we were treated to a great dolphin show in shallow water. Watched the debate last night and now enjoying my first cup of coffee. I have quite a list of what I would consider strange music. Vanessa thanks but you can remove me from Care List. Memorial is not until next month. Already 85 degrees outside so another scorcher. Tonight my plans are to attend our small church group and there are some chores on my to do list. Welcome home to Sandi and Debbie. That was a great itinerary and thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Bruce
  15. We have cruised from Montreal/Quebec City to Port Everglades on repositioning cruises 5 times. Has always been a favorite. We are doing it again this October on the Seabourn Quest from Montreal to Miami. Fourteen days with overnight in NYC and a late night departure after a stop in Charleston along with regular stops along St. Lawrence and Bar Harbor. Only smaller cruise ships can sail from Montreal as larger ships cannot pass under the Jacques Cartier bridge. Larger ships depart from Quebec City. The Seabourn cruise is probably going to be past peak foliage and on previous cruises we have experienced great weather, snow and some affected from hurricanes. We enjoy the feasting on seafood and ports of call. We have done most of the highlighted excursions so this cruise it’s the ship and walks in ports. We also have done a May repo cruise from Florida to Montreal. Our TA told us about this October cruise and it was a great deal so we jumped on it. Our experience is repositioning cruises do have some attractive prices. Will be our first time on Seabourn and last cruise of the year before our Azamara Onward World Voyage.
  16. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thank you. My Sue arrived safely and is enjoying the seventy degree weather. That’s a lot nicer then our current 100 degrees!🥵
  17. Glad she liked them. Getting harder to find as several of us use the same sources and many of the Me Me’s are inappropriate for posting here. Where is the big anniversary dinner going to be?
  18. Good morning. Already seems a long day as I got up at 4 AM to drive Sue to airport. We have been to today’s port of call. Trying to figure out how spring daffodils get their day in August? Our house cleaner will be here later on or I would consider going back to bed. @Vict0riann Happy Birthday!🎂 We went out to dinner last night to a local Italian restaurant. Pretty much a local gem secret but so popular one needs a reservation. Fantastic food and huge portions. Voted this year best Italian restaurant in Emerald Coast. If you drove by it you would never think of stopping and dining there. Another 95 plus extreme heat index day. It will be nice to get out to Oregon in a week and enjoy some cooler weather and beach. Thanks for the Fleet Report and post. Enjoy your Hump Day. Bruce
  19. Biopsy results. It’s a wart!😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  20. Lobster is everywhere along with Blueberry Pie! Enjoy. Don’t forget the lobster ice cream!😁
