Completely Agree! The word hovering explained our experience as well - but not in a bad way. It felt as every time you walked into a room or venue, or the sliding doors opened and you walked outside to one of the pools, someone was immediately on hand to offer a drink, etc. Very attentive service!

Have a wonderful cruise!! I enjoy your posts - thank you! My husband and I have been on both MSC YC and Explora. Some things felt very similar to us, but other parts of Explora were different. The food knocked our socks off on Explora, and the comfortable guest/crew ratio (we were on one of the November sailings, around 60% full, if that). We hope to continue to cruise on both! Enjoy!

Hello! My husband has extremely sensitive hearing and loud music (or unexpected loud sounds) will cause him to have headaches. We always travel with his re-usable silicon earplugs (Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon). He will use them on the ship and even on excursions, such as shuttle buses or boats that have music or a narrator with speakers. If he didn't use them, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the theater shows, live music, certain tours, etc., so we definitely recommend them! You are not alone, and to be honest sometimes I think I should use them too, especially when the singing in the shows is way too loud! 🙂

Hello - we are on the 10Nov sailing (2nd half of a Caribbean, San Juan to Miami 7 day). I was hoping once it was paid in full, we could see more excursions (and select them), but unfortunately could not. I called Explora Journeys and the representative walked me through the site, asked me what I saw, etc., but I was still unable to book excursions. He told me to contact my travel agent or he would book them for me. I can view a small description of a total of 27 tours for 6 ports - if you include San Juan and Miami (+ the 4 islands). I'm not truly ready to book one of these, as they don't interest us and several are over-priced. I asked if they would be adding excursions and he said he didn't think so, but anything was possible. I understand that some of the offerings are more unique, but would like (a few) options of some more traditional tours - not necessarily the party boat - but a simple shuttle from St Kitts to Nevis would be nice. We've been to Ocean Cay a couple of times, and I'm pretty sure they had more than 4 choices for rentals/excursions, if you include 'rent the beach mat'. (Maybe they will be included, ha ha). A few days ago I was looking at one of the other luxury lines and they had 27 offerings just for St. Lucia. Was just wondering if anyone else is missing some of the traditional offerings and larger selection of tours? Thank you and have a great day!

I took my own Stevia packets on my last two MSC cruises. They may have had Splenda (or similiar), but I don't recall ever seeing Stevia or monk fruit. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your helpful information. I have read through and apologize if I missed anything, but would you be kind enough to advise if you experienced the following? We were on the Seashore in May 2022 and Meraviglia in November 2022 and most of these items below were missing from the Meraviglia. Our butler told us (when he introduced himself, which sort of left a weird impression) not to expect the same amenities and services that we had experienced on the Seashore (newest flagship at that time). We are trying to decide between Seascape or Seaside and I'm wondering if there will be a similar inconsistency between the two, due to the Seascape's newer status. You mentioned the seafood extravaganza, but was there an evening buffet on deck 20 outside one night? I thought they called it 'dining under the stars'? Or anything similar in the evening on deck 20 (not necessarily late night party). Curious if they had the snacks out in Topsail throughout the day, or did guests need to request them? Did you say they had the afternoon tea, but only once? If so, do you know if this is the standard going forward? Did they offer the afternoon canapes/little treats in your cabin? Or just the turn-down evening small chocolates only? Ocean Cay - we missed on Seashore due to weather but they still served the special lunch menu that day in the YC restaurant. We had a shortened stop on Ocean Cay on Meraviglia and it was understandable that food would not be served on the island. But when we asked if they would serve the Ocean House menu onboard, we were told 'no' without any reasoning. I was perplexed because I knew they had the food onboard, but guess they saved it for the next week. Curious if you have experienced this either way?
