  1. I agree. It appears only those who ask now get them.
  2. Tea and coffee making facilities are available for all cabins sailing from and to the UK. If they are not in your room, ask for them. We had them on Regal’s sailing this year on 1 June. It appears that Princess now only now provide them if you ask. We have never had to ask before! They are also available on P & O, NCL and Saga sailings from and to the UK.
  3. Our 6 year old grandson had a card to get on and off the ship and open the room door, but it had no ‘spending’ power. Guest Services can change the facilities on the card for you.
  4. We were on the 1 June and agree - it was chilly on the ship and I needed ‘sleeves’. It was a great cruise.
  5. We had tapas in Vines on Regal in June but only after 5.30 pm. A couple had burger and chips delivered which kind of (for us) ruined the ambience of a wine bar!
  6. Caribbean Princess July 2024 now available with the new package details updated!
  7. Where did you dock in Liverpool? Have been to Liverpool many times on Princess and never had a shuttle bus. Have always docked opposite the Liver building with only one security check into the ‘secure’ area and the usual check on the ship.
  8. It doesn’t matter which side we choose our balcony cabin, it is NEVER on the sunny side when in port 🙄!
  9. The Red Hook ferry is extremely busy when a ship is in port. The ferry isn’t very big. Last year we queued for an hour to get the ferry from Brooklyn and nearly 2 hours in a queue to get back which was made worse by people ‘pushing in’ 😡. Never again!
  10. On one Oceania trip we had a man from the US wear an array of UK football shirts every day for 10 days.
  11. Article on BBC news this morning that the City cruise terminal is to close. Sorry I’m not tech savvy enough to post a link.
  12. Last year we took the local bus from the cruise terminal into the city and back. It was very easy and cheaper than the Princess shuttle. Found the bus routes and timetables on google.
  13. So can one person take 5 cases - asking for a friend with a shoe problem…….!!
  14. I wonder if there are any plans to mail medallions to British customers.
  15. In the first instance, have you contacted Saga with regards to their policy as to which electrical devices are allowed on the ships?
  16. There is a dock in Kirkwall at Hatston Pier which is about a 2 mile walk to the Cathedral. An NCL ship was docked when we were there so maybe there’s a shuttle bus for those passengers.
  17. This year on Regal we tendered into Kirkwall pier which is right on the edge of the town - about 5 minutes easy walk to the Cathedral.
  18. What a lovely review. It’s so refreshing to read a review so positive. May the travel gods continue to shine on you and your family.
  19. We missed our first port, Guernsey, as it was too rough for the pilot to get on, but it was warm on deck out of the wind (around 68 to 70 degrees). Cobh, Dublin and Liverpool were all about the same temperature which, for us Brits, was nice and definitely shorts weather. Belfast and Greenock were cool around the mid 60s (but still in shorts)! Orkney was the coldest - probably mid 50s and no shorts. Fleece jackets and hats were in evidence. Edinburgh was sunny, in the mid 60s but windy - we had lunch on the deck in shorts and t shirts. Le Havre was drizzle and misty first thing but warm and sunny (mid 60s) by lunchtime. In summary, British weather is a lottery - be prepared!
  20. Thanks for you ‘live’ reports, we were on this trip in June. Did you get a tray with kettle / tea and coffee making facilities? There is usually one in all the rooms - if it’s not there just ask your steward if you want one. Hope the weather is kind to you - it was for us.
  21. On Regal in June for 12 days - didn’t get anything 😥!
  22. The X99 is £6 each way - £12 for a day ticket. No change is given but you can use contactless.
