  1. The wallet is open to the set sail pass before you enter the terminal. Facial recognition unlocks the phone and you swipe up, set sail pass is there. Someone can show you how to do it if you don't understand. As far as never having to function without a phone, you are just grasping for a reason not to use your phone. If my 86 yr old mother can open her phone to her set sail pass, anyone can do it. If you have that many issues with your phone, then it makes sense to use paper.
  2. My iPhone works just fine as a bookmark in my passport.
  3. Apple Blossom has been available at lunch in the MDR. It has also been seen in CK on most nights when we sailed Oasis.
  4. Same here. Our set sail passes are in our wallet on our iPhone. We avoid getting in line behind someone with their big folder of everything cruising who then inevitably starts handing out paper set sail passes to everyone they are sailing with.
  5. Adding your travel information is the first step, next is the arrival time and last is the health questions but those questions aren't available to just before your cruise. The app has been funky the last couple of days and there is another thread that someone couldn't pick an arrival time. Maybe there is a glitch. I would try logging out of the app and back in again as that seems to fix problems. If you are using the website, I would clear cookies and/or try a different browser.
  6. Part of the check in 45 days prior to your sailing is picking your arrival time. You can print your set sail pass from the website.
  7. I hope that is real. Tough grammar in that email, which is usually a red flag, but we have received emails like that in the past from Royal Caribbean. She does have a linkedin account but Royal Caribbean is spelled wrong on it. That is a real phone number. Hope it works out.
  8. I would send another email directly to the person who sent the email thanking them for the email explanation and the receipt. I would explain that you need an invoice or a letter that describes exactly what the "miscellaneous" charge is and that includes your parents names, the individual charges and the total charge. If they will not send that, I would submit what you have to insurance, along with the request for the additional information. If insurance then denies it or requests more information, forward that to the guy at the cruise line. Just be very specific and not longwinded. Good luck.
  9. Okay, so it does have the three different types. We are looking to take someone who can't get into the tub, so the difference is very important. The one with the split bathroom with the walk-in rain shower with the bench is perfect, even if there is only a toilet in the other bathroom, not both.
  10. Do all of the JS on Odyssey have two bathrooms or is Odyssey like the other Quantum class ships with the three different types of JS?
  11. We always stay at the Marriott Waterfront. Beautiful views of the Puget Sound. Walking distance to Pike Place Market and Space Needle. One of the things we liked the best was taking the Bainbridge Island Ferry. The day we went in May was absolutely gorgeous. It costs $9.45 roundtrip and we just took it over and back just to see the sound. Way cheaper than any of the other tour boats that were more than $50pp. We got gorgeous pictures of the Seattle skyline.
  12. It is up to you if you want to tip or not. You are supposed to get a zero receipt that you can add a tip to but most waiters don't do that. You can tip in cash, some do just $1. It is up to you what you are comfortable tipping for a drink that costs $10-$14 typically.
  13. Ziploc bag keeps things from getting lost or forgotten in the safe. We had a black wallet "lost" in the safe because my DH couldn't see it and it was flat against the side, tucked into the space between the hinge and the safe wall. I checked the safe and found it but not before the whole room was searched. I should know better that my DH can't find anything that is right in front of him. We now search the safe and have found loose change, a diamond earring and a JUUL pen. We left the change but turned the earring and JUUL into guest services.
  14. Leaving the bathroom door not latched leads to it slamming in the middle of the night from the motion of the ship.
  15. You should be fine if all goes well. We have been at our gate before 8am in the past. I would not try this if you are sailing on a holiday weekend, especially Thanksgiving weekend.
  16. Odyssey all the way. Many more food options and better shows. Much newer ship with better cabin layout and better furniture on the balcony.
  17. I like to get the refreshment package for the specialty coffee, bottled still and sparkling water, fresh squeezed OJ and freestyle machine. I don't get it on all cruises because I don't think I get my monies worth if we have a port intensive cruise. We have friends that get it all the time because they don't drink alcohol but love frozen mocktails.
  18. Just get a cheap little tea light or a tap light. We have a puck sized tap light that we use on the older ships that don't have a built in nightlight. The large mirror in the bathroom reflects the light, making it seem brighter. We have also used a small LED flashlight that I keep on my nightstand. I use it to get across the dark room without stubbing a toe and then just put it on the counter in the bathroom. It is actually too bright if I point it towards the mirror in the bathroom.
  19. Ah, I thought I missed a ship! The earliest time for our upcoming sailing was 11. I am used to getting earlier than that but we haven't sailed from Boston since the restart.
  20. Mocktails are in the refreshment package, not the soda package. They are non-alcoholic versions of the real thing. I just don't like drinking all that sugar, I prefer a nice cookie. 😄
  21. That is where we used to go too but started going to South Beach to try something different. There is a Snack Shack at South Beach too. We have taken the tram there but lately, we have been walking there. We go straight when you come off the pier and go to the zero entry end of the Oasis Lagoon. We walk a few laps in the pool before it gets too crowded and cool off a bit. We then walk the rest of the way to South Beach. There are lots of sign and a few people under umbrellas that will point you in the right direction. We have found a path that goes through the trees and bushes that takes you right to South Beach. It is shady and keeps you out of the roads that the trams run on.
  22. You can get ginger ale and club soda with the soda package. Club soda with a lime is my drink of choice most of the time if I am getting a drink at the bar. I don't bother getting a soda package or refreshment package though if the ship doesn't have freestyle machines.
  23. We have not found there to be lots of kids at South Beach. There are definitely some but not like you see at Chill Beach. We bring our own blowup pool noodles and just float out in the water past the Floating Bar and palapas that are in the water. It is usually pretty quiet out there until the tide goes out and more people go out to the sandbar.
  24. Quantum class does have some pullman in suites. We had a 2 bedroom GS and there were two pullman in the second bedroom.
