  1. Exactly, it is a completely different situation.
  2. Completely different situation. Anthem sails from Cape Liberty not NYC. There is a cruise port in NYC that ships sail from, including Royal Caribbean on a very rare occasion. The Port Canaveral/Orlando thing is not a big deal at all, some just make it seem that way.
  3. It has done it on NE/Canada cruises at times. We have done Bermuda and also the Bahamas a bunch of times on Anthem and have never gone around, maybe some day lol
  4. Cape Liberty is in Bayonne, New Jersey, not NYC. It is within view of the Statue of Liberty and on a very rare occasion, the ship will take a lap around the island, but usually you just head out to see under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. It is cool going under the bridge since there isn't much clearance. Weather when we have sailed has run hot to freezing cold as we have sailed many different times from there. Seas can be rough at times, more so in winter. When are you considering sailing from there?
  5. Deck 6 has many obstructed view balcony cabins. There are also some on deck 7. Deck 13 can hear noise from the pool deck above or from Coastal Kitchen and some of the other food venues. Side of the ship isn't that big of a deal as you are going roundtrip. We have stayed on decks 7, 8, 10, 11, and 13 on that class of ship. We had noise issues on deck 13 and motion issues on deck 8 forward. We prefer to stay at or aft the aft elevators on that class of ship.
  6. There is also a parking lot across from the parking garage that is used if the garage is full.
  7. They had dueling pianos years ago on Sovereign. Not sure if it was on other ships.
  8. Anthem is definitely worth it! Have sailed Anthem many times and love the entertainment. We Will Rock You is excellent. Spectra's Cabaret is really good too. Most of the Tribute Bands we have seen have been really good too. Lots of food options, both included in your cruise fare, like Cafe at Two70 and Solarium Bistro, or at an additional cost like Chops, Jamies, and Wonderland. I can't wait for Anthem to get back to Cape Liberty.
  9. Quantum was supposed to be there today but headed to Dawes Glacier instead based on the live report. There are a bunch of pictures on another site that show the damage. It is in an area that we were lined up for the White Pass excursion last month. It is the only dock that Ovation and Quantum can use, so time will tell...
  10. I hope your son feels better soon and no one else gets it. I tested positive on Quantum in May and ended up quarantining in Seattle. My DH was negative and flew home due to work commitments. He ended up positive five days after he got home. Many on our sailing tested positive after the cruise and did not test on the ship so they could fly home. I was too sick and ended up having to go to medical. The ship is sailing full capacity and the crew is really overwhelmed because so many are in quarantine. I saw many crew down in medical that were testing positive as they were in chairs in the corridors in medical as the rooms were full.
  11. You can see the catch fence at the previous slide in this picture.
  12. We were on Quantum in Skagway on May 19. You can see Discovery Princess in this photo on the right. Quantum had just left the berth behind Discovery Princess. You can also see the area of a previous slide that now has a huge catch fence at the bottom of it. From the linked article, it looks like the middle area on the hill is what came down.
  13. She can very easily get someone else to do it for her if she is unable to carry them.
  14. Steward will take suitcases upstairs. No need to carry them yourself.
  15. Their signature shows they are on Adventure. They have one of the new JS that are all the way forward on deck 11, that is why she is saying bow.
  16. Oasis does have an accessible loft with an elevator in the cabin.
  17. Yes, I am aware of that. I was just trying to help them understand the cabin configuration as the quads aren't always available for two.
  18. Make sure all four of you are on the same bus, not just at the same hotel. We did a cruisetour in 2018 and there were two couples that were traveling together but were on separate buses. The two buses ended up in the same place at the end of each day but we were not on the same schedules, close, but about an hour different. At more than one stop, the two couples met for lunch and caused one bus to have to wait for the late couple because they always chose the later schedule. Led to some upset people as we sat on a bus and waited. We were pulling away from one stop, leaving the couple behind to go with the other bus, when they appeared. All they had to do from the beginning was get one couple to change from one bus and tour guide to the other, but they didn't. Just make sure you confirm that you are on the same bus when you meet your tour guide. 🙂
  19. They were able to book three in a cabin for two?
  20. So sofabed is by the balcony, so no need to move cabins. Are they planning on using the sofabed for the child or requesting a pack and play? The sofabed has a trundle that pulls out that can be left at the lower level, so no need to worry about child falling out.
  21. If they are in connecting balconies on Ovation, the right cabin of the pair is the cabin that sleeps more than two and will have the sofabed by the balcony.
  22. That doesn't look good even to my untrained eye. Sorry he needs to have surgery. Sending prayers for a quick recovery.
