  1. I didn't say that, and sometimes I wear long pants to the Terrace Cafe, but on a day when I've spent a long day touring ashore in hot weather I prefer to wear shorts. You seem to be having difficulty understanding the concept of someone exercising a permissible choice under the dress code versus conforming with your personal wishes. It's attitudes like yours that have caused us to never share a table with someone we don't know in the GDR or a specialty restaurant. On our first Oceania cruise we were seated in the GDR with another couple and the man, wearing a sport coat and tie, spent the entire time mumbling under his breath about people who didn't wear a coat and tie...in other words me...and I was in full compliance with the dress code wearing khakis and a button down shirt, which is my normal dinner attire on Oceania. Rage on if you wish, but i have nothing further to say to you on this topic.
  2. What's published onboard in Currents takes precedence over what the website says. Your first use of "Wow, does it really hurt to wear long pants for dinner?" came in direct response to a post about shorts being worn in the Terrace so you certainly did pick out the Terrace. Your snarky comments clearly project an air of "I have the say over what's right or wrong". Don't tell me or anyone else what is or isn't a big deal.
  3. I guess you're on Celebrity Summit when it's going to be anchored for part of its stay because only two ships can dock at a time. Am I correct that the Sunday you're talking about is June 5 ? If so Enchantment of the Seas is scheduled to sail at 1 pm per the port schedule so I doubt you're going to have many of that ship's passengers going to Horseshoe Bay that day. The Norwegian Pearl is scheduled to dock at 10 am so they won't be contributing to any early morning rush to Horseshoe Bay. Given the schedules I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get a mini bus.
  4. I'm not 100% sure of what you're asking, but the authorization is only for a single cruise. You have to identify the cruise on your authorization application.
  5. Yes, dressy sandals are fine. The rule really means no flip flops and the like.
  6. As I said it's in the Currents. Here's an example . Look under "Dress Code" on the left hand page: You don't make the rules and you have no right to criticize anyone who is following them.
  7. I suggest you read the dress code published in Currents the next time you're on Oceania. On my cruises it has always stated that shorts are permitted in the Terrace Cafe at dinner.
  8. They normally distribute the ferry schedule on the ship because it differs depending on your cruise's exact itinerary. Since NCL ships will still be doing a significant number of Bermuda cruises in November my assumption is that they will still be operating the ferry.

    Day passes

Since the Elbow Beach Hotel has been closed for a couple of years there won't be any big crowds there waiting for taxis to get back to the ship.
  10. It's too dangerous to walk from Dockyard to Scaur Hill Fort in daylight, much less after dark. About 4 or 5 miles over narrow roads . BTW, you could get from Dockyard to Hamilton at about the time you want on Sunday because the last ferry departs Dockyard at 7 pm. It's getting back that's the problem. http://www.marops.bm/Documents/Ferry/Summer Ferry Schedule 2022.pdf
  11. You may be able to get a mini bus at that time if a driver has just brought passengers back from the beach and wants to return to pick up more people, but I wouldn't guarantee it. Generally you can't expect any vans offering return trips to the Dockyard after 5 . Never leave your valuables unattended on the beach. Bermuda isn't a high crime country but it does have crime...there's crime everywhere in the world...and you're making yourself a target by leaving anything unattended anywhere. Figure about 25 to 30 minutes for a mini bus or taxi to travel between Horseshoe Bay and the Dockyard.
  12. Bermuda now has a variety of small electric cars available for rental by tourists. They're a substantially safer way to get around on your own than the scooters. As far as speed limits are concerned...no one seems to obey them any longer and passing the underpowered rental motor scooters on Bermuda's narrow roads is a local sport.
  13. OK...if it's Enterprise the office is closed on Sundays, in case that's when you're traveling.
  14. The Saudis bought over 8% of CCL in April 2020 and at least at the time became their third largest shareholder as a result, so it's not at all surprising that Carnival would turn to them to buy Seabourn.
  15. That would be an empty threat because NCL has no other place to go in the Northeast where its extensive year round operations can be accommodated. NCL can stomp its corporate feet and have a temper tantrum but really doesn't have much leverage. In any event the current situation is a product of problems directly attributable to the pandemic and should eventually resolve itself. I'm sure that the shoreside services contractor has had problems filling job openings just as many other businesses have. These are per diem employees and I'm reasonably sure a substantial percentage of experienced employees did not come back to work after the lengthy pandemic shutdown. There's additional workload caused by the COVID protocols...checking the vaccination and COVID test documentation. For Bermuda cruises the process was even more cumbersome because of their travel authorization process that still had to be completed for numerous passengers who had not received approval prior to arriving at the pier. That should ease somewhat now that Bermuda is permitting test results to be verified at check in similar to how it's done for other itineraries, but the passenger's possession of a travel authorization from Bermuda will still have to be checked. The bottom line is that right now you have fewer employees who have less job experience being required to do more work, which creates the mess everyone has seen at MCT. Since NCL doesn't own or operate the terminal what authority do they have? How much power does it have under its contract with the PA? Can Greyhound insist that its bus passengers wear a mask while inside Port Authority Bus Terminal? Can United Airlines require its passengers to wear a mask while inside Newark Airport ? Doesn't that authority rest with the Port Authority, not the common carriers who use the facilities?
  16. NCL's recommended Inspire Diagnostics test isn't required. Any source of comparable tests is fine.

    Day passes

I agree that day passes don't make much sense in Bermuda. We've bought them in Mexico and on some Caribbean islands but have never spent so much as a minute thinking about buying day passes in Bermuda.
  18. I haven't been to Bermuda this year so I can't say with certainty but at one time they were sold at the Dockyard but they haven't been for a few years.
  19. This is the NCL board. If you have a Celebrity question you should post it on the Celebrity board. In any case you're wrong about Bermuda not requiring tests. You still have to get tested, you just don't have to upload the test results as part of the Travel Authorization form process. You now just bring the test results to the pier and they'll be verified at check in.

    Day passes

Elbow Beach is closed and there's no indication they will be reopening in the foreseeable future.

    Day passes

All the years I've been going to Bermuda and I had no idea that they had a day pass.😯
  22. Assuming you're arriving at a typical early morning time, yes. BTW...you said you were renting a car to drive to the port. Where are you returning the rental car and how are you getting from there to the port?
