  1. They don't have "approved" testing facilities. They have a couple of examples of companies that meet their requirements but they are just that...examples. Any facility that produces the appropriate documentation is acceptable.
  2. It doesn't say they only accept test results from those companies. Those are merely examples...at the very most recommendations...not requirements. The only requirement is that the test results are properly supervised and documented. NCL's documentation of the process is so good that they didn't even get the name of the company they've partnered with right. The name of the company is Inspire Diagnostics, not Inspired Diagnostics . Fortunately they got the company's URL right but that's because they just had to copy and paste it from their web page.
  3. A taxi or Uber when you only have to walk 1,000 feet? A 4-5 minute walk? Not unless you have some type of disability.
  4. It's a street level crossing of 12th Ave. at 48th St. You can see the crosswalk in this photo. There's a small center island between the northbound and southbound lanes of 12th Ave. where you can stand if you can't make it across the full width of the street on one traffic light cycle. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Manhattan+Cruise+Terminal/@40.7700321,-73.9974191,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipP3DZm00heUMMXxJeM9loiKPrQU8tGhOVqAQDUZ!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipP3DZm00heUMMXxJeM9loiKPrQU8tGhOVqAQDUZ%3Dw203-h114-k-no!7i5248!8i2952!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c25a151b7d5b8b:0x33e7db2f6f3ab119!8m2!3d40.7700321!4d-73.9974191?hl=en
  5. Sure. It's only about 1,000 feet from the hotel to Pier 88 .
  6. Just Bermuda, but two ports in Bermuda. First St. George and then Hamilton.
  7. Yes everyone must apply for the Travel Authorization. You're in Bermuda as soon as your ship enters its territorial waters.
  8. Yes, the process is functioning better now because Bermuda no longer requires the COVID test to be uploaded before you can receive approval. When they required the test results to be uploaded it meant that all the applications for any particular cruise could only be approved during the two day period before embarkation, which caused a huge traffic jam.
  9. Yes, the Blue Route runs every day but the Orange Route does not. Yes, that is the summer 2022 schedule.
  10. Both answers are readily obtainable on ncl.com. Just look up Prima cruises as if you were trying to do a booking ( one note...it's possible the first cruise or two could be sold out and don't appear on the website) For your Latitudes points sign into your account.
  11. And there's a substantially higher probability that an answer given here will be correct .😉
  12. FYI some cruise lines impose more stringent documentation requirements than those required by law. Since the OP is cruising on Carnival, not NCL, they have to follow Carnival's rules in addition to rules imposed by the Bahamas. While this is usually more of a problem on luxury lines even mass market lines like Carnival can have occasional quirks in their requirements. Assuming that Carnival doesn't have some unusual requirement (see my comment above) per the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism your GF's green card and valid German passport are all that's needed for a visit not exceeding 30 days: https://www.bahamas.com/plan-your-trip/island-faq/visa-immigration#:~:text=An original Alien Registration Card, stay longer than 30 days. U.S. Permanent Residents (Non-citizens) To enter The Bahamas, U.S. residents who are not citizens need the following documentation: For visits NOT exceeding 30 days: An original Alien Registration Card (Green Card) is required, along with a national passport (passport from country of birth). For visits exceeding 30 days: A valid national passport and a Bahamas visa are required for U.S. resident non-citizens wishing to stay longer than 30 days.
  13. There are no tolls on that route (17 to 3 to 495) in NJ. But you will encounter the cashless toll system on I 87, the NY State Thruway .
  14. In my experience only the specialty restaurants that require long pants require collared shirts. I've worn nice leather sandals many times and have never been turned away .
  15. Puerto Rico is part of the US. Your flight back to Illinois is a domestic flight. You'll go through the usual TSA formalities and inspections just as if you were boarding a domestic flight in Miami, New York or Chicago. There's one additional requirement when flying from Puerto Rico to anywhere else in the US. Your bags have to undergo an APHIS (agricultural) inspection before you can check them in for your flight as you are not permitted to bring many agricultural products and even some food products from Puerto Rico to the mainland US. Here's a list of examples from the SJU website: http://aeropuertosju.com/pasajeros/usda/ . The APHIS inspection lines are located near entrances to the terminal.
  16. Even if travel with a national ID card is permissible under EU rules or the rules of other countries the cruise line has the right to set more stringent standards such as requiring a passport. This is very common practice for super premium and luxury cruise lines such as Oceania and Regent Seven Seas...both part of the NCLH family, which require all passengers on all itineraries to have a passport with a minimum of six months remaining validity regardless of whether lesser documentation meets the legal requirements for the cruise. While mass market lines such as NCL typically will accept the minimum legally required documentation there is nothing preventing NCL from requiring a passport and if that requirement is documented on the website you have to assume it will be enforced. Having a reply to the contrary from the EU doesn't override NCL's requirement.
  17. Since the Norwegian Joy is the only ship that has been cruising to Bermuda from NY so far this year you might get a response if you post the question on the NCL board.
  18. July 4 isn't a holiday in Canada so I suspect there aren't any fireworks to see.
  19. Port Valet https://www.portseattle.org/page/port-valet-enjoy-seattle-luggage-free
  20. Yes, your passport and visa are checked at the cruise terminal on embarkation day.
  21. Uber, Lyft or a car service such as Dial 7 or Carmel Limo are reasonable and simple options. i think you'll find the fare to be well north of $100 due to high gasoline prices. You don't want to take a taxi...NY City taxis don't have to take you to NJ, with the exception of to EWR itself. They don't have to take you to a hotel in the vicinity of EWR. If a taxi agreed to do the trip to a hotel near EWR the fare would be unregulated and the driver could try to charge an outrageously high fare. If you were to decide to take a taxi to EWR itself you would then have to get the hotel's shuttle or a taxi or Uber from the airport to the hotel, defeating your objective of a simple option. You can check with ETS Air Shuttle https://www.etsairportshuttle.com/ for shuttle service from LGA to EWR, but again you would then have to make your way from the airport to the hotel.
  22. Every country has its own visa requirements . Without knowing your citizenship it's impossible to advise you of Bermuda's requirements. Even if you don't get off the ship you're in Bermuda as soon as the ship enters its territorial waters and have to comply with Bermuda's requirements. You do go through immigration when you enter Bermuda. Normally it is not an in person immigration check. The cruise line provides a passenger manifest to Bermuda which certifies that all passengers have met Bermuda's immigration requirements including a visa if one is necessary. Also as mentioned by @Charles4515Bermuda has a COVID19 Travel Authorization process in place, which could be confused with a visa requirement, but again without knowing your citizenship it's impossible to tell you if you really do need a visa.
  23. Total nonsense. I know that some passengers on other cruises lines, including NCL's corporate sibling Oceania reported they were allowed to remain in their suites...which include a balcony...during quarantine. There may be a variety of reasons why you are moved, but your explanation isn't one of them.
  24. NCL hasn't been owned by Asian investors (Star Cruises-Genting) for many years. Apollo Management bought 50% of the company from Genting in 2007 and received majority control of the board of directors as part of purchase. NCL's corporate parent, NCLH, was taken public by Apollo in January 2013. Apollo Management and Genting sold their remaining shares of NCLH in late 2018. NCLH stock is traded on the NY Stock Exchange and is largely owned by many investment management companies and mutual funds, as well as individuals. The current largest shareholder is The Vanguard Group, Inc. which owns 10.51% of NCLH . NCLH is incorporated in Bermuda and headquartered in Miami.
