  1. Speaking of itineraries... has anyone managed to get a straight answer from Crystal as to when the missing itineraries are going to populate on the website. I am not talking about the World Cruise segments because I understand the reason they are not up on the website yet. I want to see all of the other missing ones. If anyone knows why this is delayed I would love to understand what's going on.
  2. Lots of great things to be excited about. I haven't drilled down into pricing yet for various voyages but I am sure the solo passengers are very happy. From my limited exploring of itineraries, just now, I think the price for solo cabins will be well received by many. The jump to Aquamarine Veranda from a standard balcony stateroom seems more favorable than old Crystal but I haven't compared enough voyages to make an assertion on that price structure. However, I do find many mistakes in the description of suites/accommodations. I wonder how the person in charge of the suite section of the website can get away with using the wrong diagrams to describe the floor plan of the new Aquamarine Veranda Suites on both vessels. Many of us seasoned travelers can spot the mistake. If my memory is correct they are using the old Seabreeze Penthouse Suite (PS) diagrams from both Serenity and Symphony instead of the Seabreeze Penthouse (PH) to illustrate floor plans for the Aquamarine. The 'up to 323 sq ft' would match the old Serenity PH floor plan which never had a living room/bedroom divider (and this number would be slightly smaller for the Symphony equivalent). I wonder why the new website would not quote the smaller Symphony stateroom/suite size. I feel that would be the right thing to do because the room sizes are smaller and its noticeable. They need to go in and clean up this section to show correct floor plans and be honest with the size. In addition, for this particular category the photos they are using are a mix of PH and PS examples. That is just sloppy. It appears they stayed with the color palette and design of the Seabreeze PH for the Aquamarine Suite which makes that color scheme inconsistent with the refurbished suites and staterooms, unless these are just place holder images, which is entirely possible. The Symphony Crystal Penthouse also received a nice contemporary makeover but it seems the Serenity Crystal Penthouse looks the same as it was before. All in all, I think this is an exciting time and I can't wait to experience the new Crystal product.
  3. RTR: We had our antipasto at Santapupa Trattoria Romana, Piazza Navona 40. It is situated in the north west corner next to the Neptune fountain.
  4. As promised... (see post #571) I recently returned from my cruise and wanted to report back on our short stay in Rome. Again, thank you to the contributors of this thread who assisted and made great suggestions. The Albergo del Senato is a wonderful small hotel and we would definitely return. What a shame we only had a short stay in Rome before continuing on our travels. We stayed in room 204 which faces the Pantheon and has a small, but usable, balcony. The room was compact but beautifully furnished with lovely bathroom amenities. We were very comfortable and this suited us on this particular trip as we were not unpacking our cases but rather working out of smaller bags for our Rome stay. If I was planning a longer time in Rome and needing to open cases and settle in then I would opt for one of the larger rooms and the hotel could assist with making a room selection. Although it was not an issue for me but it may be for some, the noise from the square continues late into the night so if you are a sensitive sleeper this room facing the Pantheon may not be the most suitable. The rooftop bar is the quintessential Rome roof top bar that you would come to expect from a delightful hotel such as this in the center of the city. How wonderful it is to sit and enjoy drinks listening to the ringing bells. Pure magic. We walked about 10 miles a day visiting all of our favorite spots from previous visits to Rome and fell in love with the city all over again. Aperol spritz and antipasto on Piazza Navona is something we thoroughly enjoy doing and I think it is one of the best places to people watch. On the go we grabbed a delicious prosciutto and cheese sandwich at L' Antica Salumeria across the square from the hotel - make sure you ask for the thin rustic bread (sorry, can't remember the name of it but I am sure one of you can chime in!). I connected with the hotel ahead of our stay and they assisted in booking us at Osteria del Sostegno which was divine. We selected a wonderful Amarone and then continued to stuff our faces course by course. Sensational pasta dishes followed by grilled veal and vegetable sides of chick peas w/ rosemary and chili and a sautéed spinach dish. The restaurant is a short stroll from the hotel and should definitely be on your 'go to' list the next time you are in Rome. Photo attached of antipasto on Piazza Navona and a short video of the view from our Albergo del Senato room with small balcony. Thank you all, Ashley IMG_2095.MOV
  5. @Bamer5 - I checked the third party page today and my correct cabin assignment is now showing. As I suspected it also adjusted the minimum bids down slightly.
  6. I have a similar situation for an upcoming Ruby sailing (one month out). I am booked in a Club Class Mini-Suite and have not received the email yet so I found my way to the upgrade bid page on the website. When it takes me to the third party bidding page it shows me as in a Mini-Suite (not CC) - all subsequent bid opportunities are therefore priced as if I am not already booked in Club Class. Frustrating. I called Princess to ask that my correct booked category show on the bidding screen as this affects the suggested bid prices. The person I spoke with just didn't understand what I was trying to achieve. I will try again tomorrow. Other than myself and Bamer5 has anyone else had this issue? The page offers me various Suite upgrades for bidding but the pricing is not reflective of my current level of accommodation (actually the pricing is not attractive at all). The system thinks I am in a Mini-Suite and therefore offers my first bid option as an opportunity to go from a Mini-Suite to a Club Class Mini-Suite. Why would I bid to be in the category I am already booked into. I am sure the minimum bids for the suite accommodations would be adjusted slightly in my favor if the system was showing me in my correct category. Any suggestions on how I can get this changed on the bidding screen? Thanks
  7. cleobella... We had our antipasto at Santapupa Trattoria Romana, Piazza Navona 40. It is situated in the north west corner next to the Neptune fountain. We did not eat pizza in Rome on this visit but I am sure others here will have plenty of recommendations for you. Have a fabulous upcoming trip! Ashley
  8. Slidergirl, that is an interesting piece of information regarding the sink hole. Thanks for sharing for those of us who were unaware of this incident. I did a quick internet search and was able to read up on it and see images. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary with regards to evidence of a sink hole or exposed ruins. I presume it has all been repaired and covered over. I wonder what happened to the seven exposed travertine slabs, according to the article I read, which dated back to somewhere between 27 and 25 B.C.?
  9. As promised... I returned home from my cruise last evening and wanted to report back on our short stay in Rome. 10. Sunprince, thank you for identifying those suites and I will go back and reference the deck plan. I will also review past threads as you suggest Nancy, thank you also for your comments. I have followed your posts regarding your Seabourn experience. I will get in touch. Ashley
  11. Please can you help me understand which veranda suites are of the larger size. I note there are two sizes but looking at the deck plan it is not clear as to which ones are of the smaller variety. I am considering an Encore voyage and this will be my first Seabourn experience so I am not well versed on my understanding of suite location. Thank you.
  12. Mitina - thank you for that list. Super helpful.
  13. Thank you all for your fast replies. I will work with my TA in identifying which PV has our preferred configuration. I will also comb through past threads to see if I can find the list referenced above.
  14. Good Morning. I am considering my first Viking ocean voyage and in reviewing options within the PV1/2/3 categories I note two different window/door configurations in the website images when you select accommodation. Some images present with a sliding door plus an additional floor-to-ceiling window. In other images only a sliding door. My preference would be to have the extra window to bring more light into the stateroom. Is it that the additional floor-to-ceiling window features in a particular sub-category, such as PV1 but not PV2/PV3? Thank you for helping understand how to select the right sub-category. Ashley
  15. I just wanted to say 'thank you' to all of you wonderful contributors. Such great information you have shared. I have enjoyed reading this thread and yes, I started at the beginning! Rome hotels are astronomically priced for my upcoming October visit but you all helped me delve in a little deeper to find the 'gems' nestled in this beautiful city. Thank you for the suggestions of Albergo Del Senato, which I just booked. I promise to come back and give my report. Extra special thanks to @cruisemom42. Ashley
  16. The Bali-Sydney itinerary was a good one for us. It would have been nice to re-connect. Last we cruised together was in 2009, Regent Mariner from Auckland to Los Angeles 🙂. Enjoy the WC.
  17. I am now catching up with comments others have made on the two Japan threads which speak to the Shadow itineraries. I was not aware of the Foot & Mouth issues in Indonesia.
  18. Thank you TurtleMichael, we were considering the Bali-Sydney voyage over the holidays as it worked with our schedule. I guess I have to rethink cruise plans at the end of the year. Is SS planning to make further renovations or modifications to Shadow prior to the World Cruise? Three months seems a long time to be laid up ahead of the World Cruise. I wonder where the ship will be for that time period. Hopefully more information will start to surface. Hope you and yours are well! Ashley
  19. Not sure if its a website glitch but I noticed Silver Shadow voyages have disappeared from Sept '22 - Jan '23. It picks up in Sydney for the World Cruise. Can anyone shed light on this?
  20. I see what you mean. I think I mistakenly interpreted the wording to mean P2P was going away (expiring) on May 31st. But what you are saying about the current pricing for P2P expiring on May 31st only to be replaced with potentially 'new increased' pricing for P2P will show up shortly thereafter. Got it.
  21. It looks like Silversea will end the Port to Port fares at the end of May hopefully putting an end to pricing confusion. I just received an e-blast stating as such.
  22. Excellent news that Silver Dawn will now be the official vessel of future World Cruises. This is very appealing.
