  1. Had to check the Kitten Cam at the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County to see what our little bundle of joy is doing. For a 9 week old, she is busy, busy, busy. Yup, there is one pedestal perch that she has staked her claim, and if anyone of her brothers or sisters attempt to share it...................nope, not going to happen. Yup, we are adopting a kitten with attitude, or she is just playing king of the hill. Well, little missy is in for a rude awakening when she comes home with us. Number one and most important, she will not have A perch to domain.................she will have 2. Did a Pet's Mart run last night. We decided to just pitch the old and go with new supplies. Yup, new cat carrier, soft shelled see thru netting. padded. toys 2 cushions new food dishes...... (Plural). toys 2 litter boxes, one downstairs and one upstairs Toys' kitten food kitten treats did I say toys. So if you go to the adoption site listed above you will see her on the pedestal to the left. She does have a name, but I will share Tuesday when she comes home with her baby pictures. The facility opens at 3pm. and I will most likely be in the parking lot at 2:45pm After car cruise today, gotta child proof her bedroom. Catch you later
  2. Just want you to know your daughter as well as your family members will be in our thoughts and prayers. I cannot imagine what you are going through, and what challenges the road ahead of you will bring. But it does sound from your post that your daughter is blessed with a great supportive family, that is always there for one another, but most importantly for her needs at this time. But, if you need a shoulder or computer to lean on, I am here for you as well I am sure the rest of your CC family. Take care β™₯️
  3. God luck to Owen. I am hoping your weather cooperates and all are safe. Here in Ohio we are supposed to be in the low 90s with high humidity. Just wondering what your weather will be like north of the border? We are taking both GTO's to a car cruise in as a fund raiser for the Fowler Historical Society, about 5 miles north of where we live. I am fortunate my GTO has air and the Spouse's GTO is just windows. He is going to be sweating his ***** off getting there. Have a safe weekend all................
  4. Today was a nice relaxing day on Portage lakes just boating along with some great friends. Lunch was at one of the lake front restaurant.
  5. Congratulations Your thread is one of the featured live thread cruise reports. Enjoy your cruise Be safe
  6. I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITING NEWS AND I PROMISED THE SPOUSE I WOULD NOT TELL ANYONE. WELL YOU GUYS ARE NOT JUST ANYONE SO HERE GOES. I guess you can say I am letting the "cat" out of the bag! It is official and next Tuesday we will be the proud parents of our new adoptive kitten. Less than 2 miles from our home is an Animal Welfare League, and after waiting for approval from the forms we filled out, we visited and found the one for us! She was just fixed, and resting comfortably. Now in the past the spouse has let me name our furry friends. I selected: Our first love was Martha the beagle. Since we built a Colonial style home it was only fitting I name her after the very first lady..............Martha Washington. Then came Anny, we adopted our first kitten from a farm on our second anniversary, hence Anny (short for anniversary). We had since lost our Daughters Cat Carrie earlier this year, and it is time to move on, it was a bad time losing her. So now the spouse has his day in the sun and has the honor of naming her. So once we have our baby, and has a name, I will post pictures Tuesday afternoon. (She is Purrrrrrfectttttt and beautiful and I love her innocent look). Now got to child proof a room, and attack Pets Mart. Be safe
  7. I can only hope that it returns to the original offering. When we did it about 7 years ago on the Allure, it was top shelf From the kitchen, to laundry to theatre, to crews quarters to bridge and engine room. The guide was so informed and it was great to get such detailed descriptions of every area, by one of the senior officers/workers discussed everything you could ever want to know. Then in 2019, when we re-did the All access tour, it was lame. Guide knew little. It seemed like we were bother some of the officers, by getting simple comments like ... When we went to the laundry we had to wait almost 30 minutes for someone to come and talk to us and then all we got was---------------- "This is the laundry.........................any questions" Where before we got to see and hear all you would ever want to know. From washers, dryers, to sterilization, to sewing and repair to cost for crew. or "This is the engine room" As you see their are many computers and monitors here........." The best was the Bridge Not one officer would talk to us and the guide goes, "Look around, you can take pictures, but no video....................then 5 min later..............time to go" No social afterwards, with treats. Did not get our previous kitchen apron. Got to keep the lanyard. Here is hoping it gets back to the original informational tour. Take care
  8. I feel that all of us set a goal, and do the necessary requirements to attain that goal. Whether it be cruising, education, social status or whatever. I know they are all different goals, but a goal for one person is not for another. That being said to those who are Pinnacle. Once again, congrats to those who attain Pinnacle status. You deserve all the recognition and benefits that you earned (paid for by the number of cruises). And in all our years of sailing to reach our current D+ status I have only encountered kindness and useful information from those who are experienced travelers on RCI. There were days in the past when the suite lounge was crowded and seats were saved by one and all, suite or Pinn. Unless they were wearing their sea pass or pin, I never knew what the status was. That being said, when I asked if I could sit in a "saved" chair until their friends came I was always generously offered the spot. And I did leave when the people arrived. I encountered and shared great conversations with all but one person in my cruising history. And I now know she had the attitude and not me. So I did what was best avoided her. I can only hope that the list of C & A members benefits can only get better and not modified to make RCI happy and Pinns affected in whatever way RCI could possibly think of now. I probably will never attain Pinn, but all in all just love cruising. Take care
  9. Yes there are (August 6th Allure) We observed many locals with nice wheel chairs to take you to the tram and also their were a few locals with sand wheel chairs. Not many. I was actually offered a ride because of my gait, but walking does me good and I graciously declined as I first got on the pier. It is well organized.
  10. @Tree_skier All that I can say is WOW. Well thought out introduction to your live thread. Here's to smooth sailing and cooperative WiFi, Zoom, internet..................or whatever the method of communication is..................to document your travels. Safe travels.
  11. @Sea Dog It sounds that Mr Dawson had a great impact on your life, as he did to others through his professional career. You are truly blessed to have worked and enjoyed the company of a humble athlete, friend and just plain caring person. The way you shared his legacy in itself is a great tribute. Thank You Prayers and kind thoughts for Mr, Dawson as well as his family and all he knew. May he rest in peace. Take care.
  12. Dani safe travels Happy Birthday.........to the spouse. And it sounds like you got the best gift of all.................... a great husband. Take care

  15. Ok I am no spring chicken here, and probably would be put out of my misery and used for chicken broth. But as I age my doctor keeps telling me the more I am walking the better I will be. Yes bad left hip and knee. Too the point of when I move the wrong way, OUCH! (hip pain more than knee) So, I try to move the correct way and walk and walk and walk. When watching TV I walk the house stairs, (3 flights on commercials). I get up when the spouse leaves for work at 6am Mon-Friday and walk the street at least 3 laps which is approx 3 miles on our street. When the weather does not cooperate I walk the mall at 7:30 with all the walkers. There I make myself do 4-5 miles. Why the CLS. I like it and it has stairs, yup, stairs....but also a railing to grasp onto when I have had a long day. And besides we can only cruise 2-3 times a year, so it can happen now. Oh next year a Alaskan cruises $$$$$$$$$ Trying another category...............booked differently. I know I am getting older, but do not want to have joint replacements yet, trying to keep the old ball and sockets moving, but when it is time, it will happen. P.S. First time I multi quoted. Take care
  16. Good morning Happy cruise day. Time to get ready and call for transportation to the port. Yup, your in a nice suite, so get the party started. The sooner the better Just get to the suite door and show your suite boarding pass as soon as you can and start the fun. Take care.
  17. Good morning Today when I woke up I checked my cruise point status on RCI. We returned home this past Sunday August 14, and our 8 day cruise gave us 32 points, during that promotion from last year. Now mind you, we have a long long long way to get to Pinnacle, but Diamond + will just have to do for many years to come. However to those of you who are Pinnacle.....................well done, and enjoy. I can only imagine the memories you have of being able to cruise so often. Take care
  18. Greg Symphony of the Seas Eagerly and patiently awaiting your review. There is no doubt in my mind it will be the best ever. In fact, I am sure your thought process already is active in the pre-planning phase. Take care
  19. I must comment on your knack of home maintenance. Years ago, when I got engaged my father was impressed that my husband to be could do and manage fix me ups . Rick could fix anything from a car, to home problems. Electrical, piping, and the infamous "running toilet" from that flapper hickey breaking and running. Your ability to do around the house tasks reminds me of his praise for those that know how to do these tasks. Too bad today many are too busy and would just pay for easy fixes. My one brother's world evolved around golf, and had not one clue on how to handle any home maintenance. His wife knew more than him. Thanks for sharing your day.
