  1. Good morning. Had time to see what is new on the threads today and found your live travels!!!!!! Happy to see and follow your vacation. Wishing you safe and fun get away as I follow along with you. And besides we are under a weather advisory 3-5 inches of snow, 35 mph winds. So I will truly enjoy seeing the Caribbean scenes. Be safe. Enjoy.
  2. I actually took the time to do a visit to my Symphony cruise thread yesterday. Glad I did because this morning at 12am you could start your registration and request your check in. Initially I was thinking tonight. Anyway the window opened at 12:10 am and we got the earliest time which was listed at 11:30-12:00. Catch you later. I have not thought of posting live from Symphony, there have been so many threads about her travels. and it seems the newest ships hold the most interest. Anyway. One never knows. Be safe.
  3. Hi all!!! Been a long time since I’ve posted about my busy days. First and foremost tonight when the clock strikes 12am. I can schedule my boarding time for Symphony of the Seas in April. Next. Still traveling to babysit Miss Zoey who is soon to be 15 months old. Walking - talking - busy busy young lady. Keeps me on my toes. And finally. Since I have been averaging over 8,000 miles a month on my car we decided to buy a new car while the trade in value is still somewhat decent. So after we attended the Cleveland car show I fell in love with another Chevy. This past Tuesday the dealers in our area were offering double show incentives. So. My baseline on a trade in Blue book said $15,000. So enter dealer candidate #1. Had my car in my color. When I told him I wanted to talk business. My questions are? 1. What is the trade in value? 2. What are the incentives when doubled? 3. When can I get the car? 1. Well this was the stick in the mud. the offer was $11,400, for trade in. I just. Hmmmmmmm But gave him a chance. 2. The incentives we’re amendable. —-first responsder/ health care $500 —-$1,000 loyalty —-GMAC loyalty. —-Extend the 3 year usual factory warranty to 5 years for free. Now I do not or have never worked for GMAC nor any family members but they would say I did and give the discount. Then he goes. So in essence it is a tad over $15,000 when we add the incentives to the trade in. So I called the spouse and he agreed. SOLD So they go if we can get you approved for a loan you can pick the car up at 9 am. I go if I pay cash can I get it today? Of course 4pm. So. I drove home at 5 pm with my new car. Be safe.
  4. Oh Mr Sea Dog. I have hardly been on cruisecritic and sorry to hear about your needing surgery again. Here’s to a speedy recovery. Take care. 💕
  5. After our daughters sandals were stolen from her lounger while swimming at one of the pools we purchased a Kyss bag. We lock it to our lounger at the pool. Not in “Prime Area”. But a lounger , or a chair. We have always had open chairs around us so we are not chair hogs. We just use one chair. We put our valuables and sea pass in the bag. Peace of mind. Be safe.
  6. Some suntan lotions will remove the printed on information.
  7. I have dealt with symptoms of intermittent RLS for over 20 years and finally became more frequent 5 years ago to the point I needed help. At first just walking the stairs….up and down about 10 times seemed to help. (Yup at 11pm some nights). After meeting with my Dr. I was started on the lowest dose of Ropinirole at bedtime. Now I am still on the lowest dose but I with his advice take it three times a day. 90% of the time I sleep without the restless legs. The other times I am fighting the dreaded ache, feeling of muscles moving—— ( there not moving ), to the point I still have to get out of bed and walk. In five years the dose has stayed the same but it increase from one to three times a day. I have a lot of room for adjustment if down the road it is necessary. It works for me. The cause—— Wish someone would know. It just afflicts some people and I am a “some”. The only injury I had was on a 25 mile bike run and fell off the bike on left leg and that was over 30 years ago. Still unknown if that could have precipitated RLS. Talk to your doctor and see if it is right for you? Be safe.
  8. Went to our churches fundraising last evening. Took some chances on the “Chinese baskets raffle “. Out of the 30 basket selections and putting tickets in on ten choices I won 3. Two children gift baskets (for Zoey) and One Pizza stone and supplies for daughter. It was a fun night. Enjoy the day.
  9. @Sea Dog Oh Greg. Sorry to hear about your frustration. But it’s done with. Over with. Tomorrow is a new day. Stay focused like I know you can. Find something to let your emotions out on. And when you start more PT next week think and do your best. You have undertaken a surgical procedure that WILL not only improve your pain free status but your quality of life. I have my utmost confidence in you. Be safe.
  10. Lizzy keeping warm till her dinner. She knows we eat first. Then it’s her turn. Today Lizzy is enjoying the warmth of the fire. Be safe.
  11. When I was a senior in high school ( private school) our board of directors received a grant from the state of Ohio to teach non traditional classes. One that interested me and I was selected to fill one of the 15 spots allocated for girls (240 students applied) was called “How to” “Drivers Ed” “Not behind the wheel”. So a local auto repair shop was contracted and a school guidance counselor was the coordinator to plan a 10 week program, to teach other non mechanical skills and field trips. 1. How to check and change your oil 2. How to fill your window wash fluid 3. How to check tire pressure 4. How to change a tire 5. How to change windshield wipers 6. How to read a map 7. How to change spark plugs 8. How to jump a dead battery with cables 9. How to clean a car. Interior / exterior and proper way to apply and remove wax. 10 How to drive a stick vs automatic. 11. How to drive on icy roads avoiding skids. 12. Then it included a visit to police station to talk to a cop on what consequences could be when breaking safety rules and getting arrested. 13. Finally a visit to the local hospital emergency room to meet with a physician talking about injuries and fatalities caused by un - safe driving. Speeding, not paying attention……. And the emotional impact when your parents arrived and were updated on your accident. From grim and some dim. My father was so proud of me that I took the initiative to complete this course. I learned so much and had fun. My mother in the other hand was upset because “ sewing “ was one of the other classes she thought I should take. ( to this day I use a loyal seamstress). Your sharing of teaching basic car skills brought back great memories. Oh, I passed the course and was selected to go to state capital (Columbus) to give a presentation. That outing is another story. Another time. Be safe.
  12. From your posts on various threads it is evident you are truly a committed dedicated professional practitioner. But as you age you will in your heart know when a life change is just for you. It is not determined by age but the readiness to move on, whether you slowly go part time too retire. Various factors affect your timing from health all the way to financial security but more importantly the new role life has to offer to keep you busy. Seems like a lot of mumbo jumbo…… But for me, I have moved on from Nurse Anesthesia to community involvement. From volunteering to church representations on committees to still providing basic nursing assistance to neighbors to being a major part of my daughter/son in law and granddaughters life. The motor home for vacations, and weekend get away and of course cruising. And the basic wifely duties at home completes the calendar of events. You will know when your ready. Be safe. Sue.
  13. Tractor with snow blower at work. Just a couple inches today. Lake effect tonight. So unknown what we could “really” get. Stay warm.
  14. Morning visitors. Rest of herd in woods behind house. This herd is a threesome. The luncheon time just has a loner. and The dinner herd consists of 7 members. Eating from our “backyard” trimmings pile. Leaves, branches and cleanup from garden.
  15. Yes Schools closed her in our county. DH on way to work. Roads snow covered ( not excessive). Taking his time, left early. Between his tractor snow blower and Kubota I don’t know which boy toy he will pick to plow when he gets home at 4:30pm. Last year he only used it about 3x. He has been eager to do it this season. Me, well I watch him through the window. Just making sure he doesn’t get into trouble. He usually does our 2 neighbors as well. Be safe Stay warm.
