  1. So many people say how different MSC is to the other lines. I have been on over 25 cruises (3 MSC) and have found them to be more similar than different to any of the other lines I have been on. Especially in the Caribbean where you still go to the same crappy islands as everyone else. The only reason we go on a cruise in the winter is for some good weather and to meet other people and relax. When we want a real vacation we take a land trip in May or September to Europe or Hawaii. I can honestly say I have not liked or disliked any cruise more than the next. It is almost like Groundhogs day when we board. Don't be afraid of MSC.
  2. Ya, that makes sense, Don't tip the people that actually decide to work. Worst excuse ever.
  3. I have yet to go on any excursion offered by any cruise line that was good and not a complete rip off (Caribbean or Europe). If there are any let me know. I find it to be much better to do some research of the port and go on your own or book through a different company.
  4. Has anyone been successful (from past experience only) getting two rooms upgraded with joint bookings? We are both looking to upgrade from a balcony to YC with the exact same bid. We don't want to be split up, so is this worth the risk? Do they take into consideration we have a joint booking?
  5. Absolutely false. the water on the ship is fine, but no where near the standards of bottles distilled, PDW or spring water. I am in the industry and am offended and will challenge that statement. You need to get your facts correct before making false statements.
  6. I believe the heaviest I found was 30 kg. About 66lbs.
  7. So even if you get 2 meals per day, it's $35. How is that more than the other lines? This is so minimal it's ridiculous. Show me one other line that is apples to apples that will cost you less, or even close. If you can find it, you should have booked it because the one you currently booked just went up $35. Unless, you order 3 or 4 plates per night.
  8. So why didn't you book a different cruise line? Was it the only cruise availabe? Your statement makes absolutely no sense.
  9. Again, Only $5. Order 2 meal per night and it's $35 for the week. It blows my mind how many people whine over these petty things. I know, I know it's the principal, right?
  10. Something tells me I won't be running into any of the negative commentors in the gym.
  11. You mean the portions were standard upscale restaurant size, not Golden Coral size. No one will go hungry on a cruise. This is an absolute genius move. Why should I (or anyone else) be paying for someone else's extra plate in the cost of my cruise?
  12. This should have been done years ago. No one needs 2 dinners. The excuse that you just wanted to try a little is b.s. If that is truly the case it's only going to be $5.
  13. J walking is also illegal, should that be enforced? Why waste the cops time busting weed sellers?
  14. Why would the Police station care? There are so many other things to worry about in NY. My cop friend was specifically told not to even bat an eye over weed or any transactions. Weed is legal and we just need to accept it. You don't have to partake but no need to bash those that do. My guess is at some point they will have weed humidors on the ships. (At least Carnival anyway)
  15. Mostly legit review, especially no draft beer. But straws too short? That's just complaining to complain. NCL doesn't even give straws.
  16. How does priority tender access work if we are gold members? Does it actually get you on the tender any faster or is it pretty much a joke? Is there a separate line? Can the two other passengers we are linked to join us even if they are not gold? Thx
  17. Add more complimentary food options or have more main dining rooms open for lunch. All buffets are gross on all cruise lines. So, I am not knocking MSC, just buffets. Yuck.
  18. What I understand is Gala Night is the first sea day, which is the first day after embarkation. Is that correct? It just seems soon, it usually seems around day 3 or 4. Not that it really matters, I just don't want to waste a Butchers Cut night then. I'm sure I will figure it out, not my first rodeo. However, MSC is definitely non conventional and are always changing things.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong. From my understanding you can pre purchase specialty dining before the cruise, but you cannot make reservations until on the cruise, is that correct? If so, is there any way to see the main dining room menu for the week so you can book accordingly. I would not want to miss the Gala or Italian night. Thx
  20. The biggest difference to me by far is the entertainment. If you like the shows and live bands, like the Beatle's tribute, you will be very disappointed in MSC. Their shows are the worst at sea. I personally don't care about the shows and think they are all boring (even the good ones on NCL and Royal), but I do like a good live band that plays current and or classic covers well. NCL does that better than anyone, and that is where MSC falls flat. Not a deal breaker, because you get what you pay for. Other than that, they are more the similar than different. You are on a big ship and you eat way too much average at best food.
  21. I have read mixed responses on this topic, so I am just asking for a CURRENT update. Can any one confirm or deny the the Classic Margarita at Hola Tacos on the SEASCAPE is covered under the Easy Plus pkg. If not, are you just paying a difference if over $10?
