    Dilemma

This is indeed a very sad thread, and some excellent advice given. Certainly follow the UK threads as T & Cs are very different across the pond. A couple of additions you might want to think about (and may be possible now) 1. Are there any disabled cabins available to transfer to now. They sell quickly. You must keep a wheelchair in your room, and the set up could make travelling much easier. 2. When seeking insurance you must get worldwide cover and ensure cruising is covered: this is often an add on. 3. It seems you are intending to go to the Caribbean, so again ensure you have cover for USA, which again is often a separate premium pymt even for worldwide cover for us from these shores. I so hope you make your celebration voyage!
  2. In March my husband asked for a Wagyu steak, and was told that it was not available in QG. We know it can be had in the Verandah for a premium payment. No problem as the chateaubriand is spectacular. As for the Jubilee pudding, I think you might be pushing your luck, as they generally prepare items for just one or 2 people (if off menu). Whatever, I am sure you will enjoy the menus, and the flambé desserts will make up for the Jubilee pudding if not available. This is making my mouth water at the thought; so looking forward to being back on QV in November!😊
  3. In January had an aft facing suite on deck 5, no problems even in Bay of Biscay. Would have the same again in a heartbeat!
  4. On our 3 post covid QE cruises, we saw many crew whom we knew from the QV. It seems they were not hired for their last contracted ship.
  5. I am not sure these WC status levels have a lot of meaning at present! Boarding early is a logistical problem with so many expecting this as the norm, no WC parties (if you like that kind of socialising), and as for the internet package now, it is not fit for the 21st century! Certainly more costly as well. Whatever, it is always nice to be on board!😊
  6. Posted earlier on this thread about wishing to reserve a voyage S’ton > SFO in January when onboard. I just looked on the Cunard site: QG still sold out and 2 PG cabins to choose from. One is deck 4 the other deck 8, still at the exorbitant price compared with a few years back. So it seems they do chop and change their policy on different segments over the months. Never mind, an airline has our money now instead of Cunard!
  7. When we were onboard in January, we wanted to book S’ton > SFO, in PG 2023. The only option was to make a G’tee booking, and at £26k+ was not prepared to proceed when paying that sum without an allocation. Knowing our luck we would be assigned deck 8 under the buffet, and would not want this even for a short trip. We are now flying both ways!
  8. PG cabins are just fine on both decks. If you look at the deck plans, avoid the ones with the curved balcony as they are smaller (we have had one!)
