Im not sure about Rome but I’m cruising on the Getaway on February 6 & when I looked into an inexpensive airfare from San Francisco to New York I was told I would have NO control of what flight I would have & it might be a Red Eye. Plus I wanted to arrive 3 days early & I would have to agree to their hotel at $ 1,000. Of course I said NO. Tom

I had 2 bids on the Getaway going from an Inside to an Ocean View & Balcony for a February 6, 2023 cruise. I canceled both bids & plan to wait until w weeks before the cruise to see if the bidding prices have gone down. Since I’m traveling solo I’ll have to pay double. What are people’s experiences…Bid early or bid late? Here’s the current bidding offerings. Tom😀

Not sure about NCL but in San Francisco & Los Angeles no need to show your passport as you simply stand in front of a screen & it takes your photo. Tom😀

I was just on Princess & was told the deck, 6 or 7 depends on the tide. I assume it would be the same with other cruise lines. Tom😀

I noticed that an inside stateroom was cheaper than my studio & when my agent contacted NCL I was moved to an inside stateroom at no additional costs. I have bid for an upgrade, Ocean View or Balcony. I’ve kept a screen shot but when I check a few days it shows by bids cancelled. Here’s 2 photos showing my bid accepted & then showing no current bids & lots of cancelled ones. I’ve used chat & they suggested to make another bid. My latest bid was yesterday. Does this have anything to do with NCL moving me into a inside stateroom? I’ve also forwarded my screenshots to NCL. Interesting when I go to the bidding page it still has me in a studio stateroom. Tom🤔

Another suggestion if your putting your luggage outside to take a photo in case you have any problems as a back up. Tom😀

I got a complimentary upgrade when my agent contacted NCL as the inside stateroom was cheaper than my studio. I now have an inside stateroom. I have bid for an Ocean View & Balcony. When I go back & look at bidding it still shows that I have a studio stateroom & that I haven’t made any bids. I have a email confirming my upgrade request so something must be wrong with their site. I’ve bid before on Princess & when I’ve checked it shows my bids. When I click on the link in the email that I was sent confirming my bids it shows my bids were cancelled. I’ve not cruised out of NewYork but my preference is to arrive early to avoid any long lines. Take that into consideration if you choose to arrive later. I just cruise from San Francisco & was inside the terminal at 10 am with no long line outside. Tom😀

I keep all of the necessary documents in an app on my phone & have been able to show those on some other cruise lines. I always have copies as a backup. Can I use my phone instead of the paper documents? Thanks! Tom😀
