    Day 7 Recap ( At Sea Day 3/6 )

🍽️ Craft Social Bar: I wanted to so something light and different. The description of Craft Social includes ‘bar bites you can make into a meal’ so I ate the Kobe Beef Sliders and Dry Rub Chicken Wings (very small sized wings) with some hot sauce on the side. I enjoyed them and consider them a repeat item.

@bnurick thanks for the review of craft social👍

@DJsDH loves wings, burgers and beers, especially about mid cruise. Looks like we need to check this out next month on EQ🍻

I think I mentioned since I was in a Bit€hing mood -   I had a chat with Yusel, MD about the poultry on the previous cruise.    He thanked me and said if there were any small issue just let your waiter or me know immediately.    I told him I didn't want to make an issue of it and he said - "no do it immediately, If you are experiencing it so are all my other guests and I an talk to the chef.

Last night they had scrambled the menus and the menu was the same as we had 2 nights before -  the problem with Luminae on E-Class where you don't have the MDR menu to order the Prime Rib.   Iain had the delicious Cod dish I had 2 days previous..    I asked Iain -  do I dare try the Herb Roasted Chicken.  He said no but of course I always listen and ordered it anyway.    It was FANTASTIC -  perfectly cooked and juicy.    Yusel came over to assure it was ok and I asked him to send my thanks and compliments to the Chef.

Glad to hear the poultry situation has been corrected!

Yuksel is such a consummate professional. He makes dining in Luminae so special.

I'm hoping that our MD in Luminae on EQ in a little over two weeks is half as accommodating and professional as Yuksel. 🤞

An aside on Luminae food.    Iain suggested I speak with Yuksel about the poultry before leaving a negative comment.    We were on the Summit to Greenland B3B he was also the MD.

On the positive side the Fish Cook really knows what he's doing and have enjoyed every fish dish we have ordered.

I agree with Iain on letting Yuksel know about the lack of quality in the poultry offerings.

I'm told that it is ship specific and at the Discretion of the Restaurant Manager.    He said they often shift it around especially so the last Chic night falls on a Sea Night.

I was doing a posting on my unpublished blog of the Menus and a picture of each dish and desert.   The menu from last week is different that this week with the same itinerary.   Why?   Unknown.

For Apex the Menus were not loaded until the day we set sail and the App is same as the Menu -

Well almost.      We went to Eden last night and the App did not show the Lobster dish.   I wasn't going to go if it was pulled so asked.    They said it was on but they don't list it on the App because they only offer fresh ingredients and if there is a supply chain issue with getting the Live Nova Scotia Lobsters they don't offer it.

    Thanks Jim!

Makes planning which nights we want to dine in specialty restaurants a bit harder to pre-plan🤣

    First world problems😄

"After our belated sail away, Gen Z and I dressed and headed to dinner at Murano.

For starters, Gen Z had the pork belly and I had the lobster bisque and mushroom risotto.  I’ve had mixed results with the pork belly at Murano, but last night’s left me in envy of my child (who grudgingly gave me a bite for review purposes).  The skin was perfect crisp and the meat beneath tender and juicy.  The lobster bisque was also a redemption from the overly sherry heavy one on Silhouette.  Sadly the risotto was a little under cooked, but that was the only fail of the night.

For dinner we split a mommy-daughter surf and turf of the chateaubrian for two and the Murano lobster and both were excellent as always.

For dessert Gen Z had some vanilla gelato and I had gran marnier soufflé."

  6. Planning on celebrating our birthdays on Equinox at Murano in May.

Wondering if we can order the Chateaubriand for two and one order of the Lobster Murano for the two of us so we can have our own version of Surf and Turf.

    TIA

  7. Good morning all!

    Thanks for the thoughtful responses.

We are flying in the day before so we definitely won't miss lunch in Luminae the first day. It's a perfect way to start the cruise. Last year on the Summit the wonderful maitre'd, Yuksel, asked our table location and table preferences. I am guessing it will be the same on Equinox.

@TeeRickMy DH is a professor at and we are both alums of Penn State. I was able to pre-book both nights. Maybe we'll try TG.

To throw out something different, my DH loves Tuscan for the first night. Watching the wake and the sunset after sailaway really is gorgeous. We love murano and luminae as well, but sunset during dinner is special.

    Thanks for sharing @OtherFigment👍

The last two times we have eaten at Tuscan we've been underwhelmed with the food and service. @DJ's DHloves Veal Marsala but both times he had tried to order it the wait staff has waived him off saying that it would not meet his expectations.
