  1. It totally benefits Royal as a cost cutting effort: fewer room stewards, less towels to wash, less laundry attendents, less water to produce on board, less cleaning chemicals for the rooms, less soap in the laundry. All under the guise of "sustainability". That would mean cabins being done last would have morning service completed around time for dinner (think of that, it would be twice less stewards) when the former night service would be executed in old pre-shmandemic days. Voyage, Voyage!
  2. Nice to see you here! In 2 days our countdown starts! Mikhail
  3. rather more like exponential and pretty soon going to factorial (n!) direction Voyage, Voyage, everyone!
  4. The majority of them, not just cruise lines! Recently, Hilton removed soap bar from the room stating "just use body wash" (which I actually don't even use for my body; I use an actual hard soap bar which, by the way, saves resources that so many are recklessly screaming about these days).
  5. Everyday learning something new... I had no clue (seriously!!!) until this moment that taking medicine for any cause makes others sick. I will remember it for my upcoming December 20 16-day Regent cruise - by any means, I will refuse to take any medicine no matter how I feel! Voyage, Voyage, everyone!!!
  6. It doesn't bother me either. It's just a simply a masquerade (especially, considering on top of that, with pieces of cloths over ones' air intake, too): I imagine a picture perfect (not my picture, I don't make pictures on cruises; just figuratively speaking, picture) - couples with tuxedo, suites, pants, shirts of all different kinds (sleeves, no sleeves...), jeans,... shorts, swimming attire, all blended together, and everyone is pretty, pretty, pretty happy!
  7. That's how the majority are regarding thermal spa that's for a fee on any main cruise line. No one cares; however, for us it's one of the most important key points of cruising (I spent hours there every day and go twice or more on sea days); so, we either book an Aqua class cabin on Celebrity or pay whatever fee is on other cruise lines.
  8. In June we had a 13-day Ponant Le Bougainville cruise from Nice to Istanbul. We flew from Buffalo at 8 am 3 days prior to embarkation (actually 80 hours)! While sipping espresso in the Buffalo's the Club lounge waiting for our departure to Chicago, we got a text message from BA that our London - Nice flight is cancelled, and... because of that for our convenience (I'm not joking) they also cancelled our Chicago - London flight! Absolutely Perfect, right! We immediately called BA requesting to give us our flight and our business class seats back. They said they cannot do it; they said they only can do if when upon arrival to Chicago we approach their representative. So, hold our breath hoping no one purchased our seats yet until we are in Chicago. In Chicago they rescheduled our flight to London with our seats and booked us on a later in day from London flight. When we arrived in London, we learned that our new flight to Nice is also cancelled, and they can only give us the same flight for the next day that would be a day prior to our embarkation. We decided to go to a gate for the next leaving flight and asked to put us on a waiting list (the plane was sold out, and there were 4 people ahead of us), and only because we had business class tickets, they agreed to move us to be first on the waiting list. In the end, there were no business class seats available and only 1 economy class available; then I don't know how right before closing the gate they released another economy seat, and we finally flew to Nice. Later we learned that BA cancelled our flight next 3 days in a row (!!!) for the same leaving time as they gave us for the cancelled flight, and all other flights from London to Nice were overbooked meaning that if we just agreed rescheduling for the next day flight, we would miss our cruise (again, leaving home 3+ days prior to the embarkation time). What's a lesson from this event? I even don't know what to say anymore these days! Perhaps, to fly a week earlier??? Who can afford that (financially and vacation time-wise)?!
  9. I agree - it is so tough. Besides, cruise lines refuse to discuss almost anything without an agent. However, I still cannot blame my agent after having 22 years of dealing so nicely with him.
  10. It's a very funny video of a famous French song with 3 poor people desired for voyage - 2 of them a voyage was granted, and the last guy ended voyaging in his own closet (it's much better to watch than being described, of course) pretty, pretty, pretty much as all of us for a while lately. Last sentence was "Happy Sailing!" in a Slavic language.
  11. It's easy to write and say. He did not get any income for almost 2 years. I wonder how many people may survive while still trying not to get any assistance and stay decent. Meanwhile (watch to the very end), https://youtu.be/sM2ZhByFcDk Cчастливого плавания, everyone!
  12. Again, it's not their fault to begin with. As to cars manufacturing, they are still struggling on so many levels for exact the same reason. Also, for example, my cruise agent (he is an owner of his agency) has built the very strong business within last 24 years, lost all but 1 of his employees within a few months after March 2020, and now was able to afford to hire just 1 more. Do I have to blame him for all issues I've been dealing with cruise lines for my last 5 bookings with him? No way! He still pushes himself to limits (as you described it) by working 15 hours every day including weekends. I have no idea how he survives mentally and physically. Unbelievable! Voyage, Voyage!!!
  13. It's an improper comparison (different fields, approaches, sources, environment, resources). Besides, one may not blame cruise lines for any matter related to March 2020; blame the real cause if one wishes, not businesses having been pushed to bend all that time because of it.
  14. I do not call shocking anything these days (cruise lines suffer as anyone else due form … I will stop here what’s a reason of it). Just an example, in March we booked a Celebrity aqua cabin on 10-day Caribbean cruise on Beyond for April 2024, then price was raised increased by $400 pp, and now (since 4 months ago) price for the same cabin category on the same date is $1,250 more per person.
  15. So funny!!! - that's my best experiences on any cruise line/ship for over 20 years! I was on the Edge twice and spent hours in Eden on every single day! The same way as I spent hours every day in the SEA Thermal Suite while I'm sure the majority would say they either don't care about it or hated it (too hot, too steamy, too quiet, "too naked", too whatever).
  16. then there will another indefinite number of replies of all colors and specters for that particular item. Relax, everyone, and enjoy (to the very end) https://youtu.be/sM2ZhByFcDk Voyage, Voyage!!!
  17. Then under a group Cruise Only rate would be even less than a regular Cruise Only.
  18. Funny... We were on the Edge twice (April 2019 15-day Transatlantic crossing and December 2021 7-day Caribbean): the Eden is best part for me along with the SEA Thermal Suite (spent hours in each of them every single day!).
  19. it is the Cruiser that ultimately pays the price. I'm good, and I'm feeling alright...
  20. sure... the same as it is a taxpayer's responsibility to follow ALL blah, blah, blah... they create chaos (not cruise lines, of course)... and wash their hands... "this is how we do it..." Hoping at the end, not "ending up" as a guy from end of the voyage below... https://youtu.be/sM2ZhByFcDk Voyage, Voyage!!!
  21. Generally no but if booked direct with a Celebrity CVP I'd call them and give it a try. I've heard of a very few cases where it has worked. If you use a TA I don't believe they (like us) can see the current pricing on sold out cabins. It depends on terms and conditions of each promotion/sale/deal for each cruise line. If terms allowed, you may cancel your booking and immediately re-book your cabin with a current deal (there will be a slim chance of someone else grabbing your cabin during those few minutes while you will do your process). Again, the key word is "re-book" - you would be able to do it only if term allow it. Besides, you also need to look at cancelation fee if it is applicable for your current booking in order to compare an actual benefit of re-booking.
  22. I'm getting sick (literally) just by reading this thread alone (even with camouflage).
