  1. and if you don't accept and are knocked out during not acceptance moment? forfeit right to defend yourself, perhaps? PS. I'm editing: just read the post # 62 (that going along with my comment).
  2. Hardly correct - they (the stuff) most likely couldn't even hear food orders from nearby tables.
  3. In general, it's improper - these days people record everything whatever they might think displeases them (I'm not discussing this particular situation though). Judging is everything today.
  4. Or... better yet not to complain at all (we learned from a couple during our cruise last June on the luxury yacht-like Ponant Le Bougainville when, of course, as I previously wrote, there were so many downgrades as everywhere else these (as some try to imply as "new norm") days) - it would be superior to complain with a purpose of just to please someone's "liking it".
  5. What's a difference? Everyone complains about everything for every cruise line and other vacation options (hotels, resorts, restaurants ...) these days. Sounds like there is nothing to switch to. As I wrote on a few occasions - "Anticipation of death is worse than death itself"" - today we live and world "operates" in aftermath of that anticipation; and I only hope that current conditions are, at last, actual aftermath, not prolonged anticipation like extension of emergency on January 11 (as a "lovely" indeed gift for my birthday - Federal Public Health Emergency Updates for 2022 (asha.org)) after almost 3 years of fear, because, otherwise, eventually, there is nothing be left to complain about.
  6. Each item on its own is justified; however, a dozen (or more) of them combined makes pleasure and total relaxation (needed and expected by buying an expensive vacation) going away for many (we actually, are not in that group of many but completely understand their feeling regarding these matters). It’s not discussible, it’s just a matter of fact.
  7. Overall, it’s strange: there is no a reason for this matter. It’s just doesn’t make sense. I’m talking about locals. If they want tourist’ money for alcohol, it would’t work, anyway, because people will not go to the shore to buy it ONLY due for a lesser availability of it on the ship.
  8. If it is a local law, it would affect all cruise lines that stop there. We just returned (January 5) from a Regent cruise, and during our stop at Grand Caiman bars operated as usual.
  9. We just came back from the December 20, 16-day Regent Splendor "Christmas on the Canal" cruise: dress code was not strict. No one was in shorts for any dinner (formal, semi-formal, and non-formal nights); however, it was a mix of tuxedo, casual , and even less than casual on any given night including the New Year eve.
  10. I didn't expect such a generous gift for my birthday!
  11. walking (going) backward... it's tough, because one might stumble with a worse outcome than this kind of walk itself. As repeated so many times - "The fear and anticipation of death is worse than death itself." Voyage, Voyage!
  12. For my agent this ("sitting on hold") is by far the biggest obstacle: he spends 8-10 hours just that every single working day (he works 9 am to around 1-2 am next day). It's really crazy! And it's getting worse and worse by month for most cruise lines calls.
  13. Seriously? 1 bottle is enough for entire cruise for real drinkers? More like 15 bottles for 7-day cruise.
  14. Interesting. Including hard liquor? Unlimited number of bottles? No corkage fees?
  15. Thank you. I just surprised they don't include a "classic" package (their price is high enough to justify it) like all other luxury cruise lines do. Do you know whether you may but it just for 1 person in a cabin if the cabin is booked for 2?
  16. How much is a drink package? I expect it to be not too expensive, because it's like an upgrade from "wines at lunch and dinner". We are planning to book our first Viking cruise; that's why I ask all these detail-oriented questions.
  17. Yes On Celebrity and similar others. However, on Ponant and Paul Gauguin it is actually really fresh and tastes so good! They buy multiple different fish from locals (in the morning right from the ocean in the local market) and prepare different styles each day.
  18. Yes, true. My point is some meats taste at least sort of OK after being frozen, but beef wellington is one of those that are definitely don't.
  19. Previously frozen beef wellington is never good.
  20. I don't think it's a recommendation but rather just a discussion and comparison, and why not? If someone likes something, it doesn't mean that person is related to that something in any way.
  21. No, not all luxury and small ships require full payment a year in advance: for example, Seaborn and Ponant are 3 months, and Regent is 4 months, and I think Windstar is 4 months and Silversea is 5 months. What was strange about beer selection? Also, isn't beer for extra to pay? I read and heard that alcohol is only include during lunch and dinner, and it is only wine (no beer or hard liquor), any other time any alcohol is extra.
  22. I remember 1 old cut back in Blu a few years ago: on our first Aqua cruise there was a special breakfast moving muesli station - a waiter was coming with a cart having multiple available ingredients and berries to make your own muesli; it was so delicious! Then a year later we had another Aqua cruise, and that station was gone. When we asked, the answer was "What is a muesli station? I don't understand you."
