  1. Not sure it has to be an either or...some excursions are small group. And if you have OBC and get it for free then that makes a huge difference too
  2. So I didn't want to be the first to call in case it was an IT mistake, but now that someone else has, I went ahead. The rep assured me my internet had been upgraded to premium and there was nothing I needed to do once onboard (eg, go to the iLounge). She saw the voilucher and said it automatically did the upgrade. I booked through a TA so I couldn't get a copy of my invoice from her, but she said my invoice will also reflect this. I will contact my TA and get an updated invoice. If someone else can call and get the same answer it would make me feel better.

  4. Lol, why are you arguing a point no one disagrees with?
  5. Because the receipt you get clearly states the price you paid covers the duration of the cruise. If it was just for a day, it would a) ask for a quantity you want to purchase and b) state that it was for one day and not the entire sailing. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand that we ALL agree X messed up. You most likely should have been charged 9.99 per day of your cruise, so 70 for a 7 day sailing, instead of 10. The only debate is whether or not they will honor their mistake. If it's too good to be true it's a ln IT f up and you should jump on it before it goes away 😀
  6. Interesting. I think everyone else was afraid to call 😀 thanks for doing this...hopefully they honor the people who did buy it.
  7. See @mahdnc response. Who do you think is ignoring it? it also clearly states 9.99 for the duration of the sailing...and that's the point. Either that statement is wrong, or the per day statement below it is wrong. But X sold this to a lot of people and it clearly states that what they bought is for the DURATION of the cruise. Whatever the price SHOULD have been is irrelevant at this point. The product purchased is for all 7/9/14/whatever number of days you are sailing according to the receipt. Now, whether or not they will HONOR that is a different story. And I haven't seen anyone post that they're going to complain and never sail X again if that is the case. I think we will all just take a refund and move on.
  8. You actually said what I was trying to say in a much better way. X is our cruise line of choice now because we're older, but we still sail carnival once a year or so so that we don't get too old 😀 The superficial things on the ships are pretty much the same, but some excel in certain areas. X has the best food at sea IMHO for example, while Royal has the best physical activities. The demographics, like you said, do vary wildly.
  9. Seaside was my first MSC ship and I was blown away by it. As others have said, Mera is more closed in. With Seaside you'll be hard pressed to find a place where you CAN'T see the ocean. I will say that I prefer the YC pool deck buffet on Seaside, but the pool deck itself I prefer on Mera. I also like topsail better on Mera, but I prefer the overall ship design on Seaside. But, as others have said, you can't go wrong on either. And I agree with what @Georgia_Peaches said about an inside cabin.
  10. Europe is my favorite place to travel to and, in general I agree with what you said about talking. However, I've found that once you start to talk to Europeans, they open up and are super friendly. As for cruise lines being the same, I agree with that too. The differences are more subtle. For example, Royal tends to have more adventurous activities and production quality shows. Carnival is more wild. NCL has great specialty restaurants and good free food options. Of course these are generalizations. If you want, you can have pretty much the same experience on each line if you cruise for sun, pools, and islands.
  11. That's just how MSC works... unfortunately. Not trying to be funny...I'm serious. Things that work for one won't work for the other. It's frustrating af, but once you get onboard things go pretty smoothly...you just have to deal with all the crap to get to that point Call them and if that doesn't work hang up and call again to get a different rep who might be able to help you.
  12. Depending on when the cruise was you can still get points for it
  13. On the page where you select the rate you want there will be a link...you have to click that and add your voyager number. You'll know it worked because the prices will go down.
  14. Wow...liking the American vibe isn't something you hear often from Europeans 😀 I'll return the compliment by saying I love your food and beer Anyway, you got good answers but I will say in terms of stuff to do, the newer ships from carnival, royal, etc have more. For example, on royal ships you can do simulated sky diving, bumper cars, ice skating, rock climbing. Royal and Celebrity have escape rooms (the latter done in a non traditional way, but still...) This isn't a knock against MSC, just saying those are differences.
  15. Yes, but that is not a YC perk.
  16. Not sure what you mean...many, many excursions are discounted...
  17. If you read the link I posted, people give suggestions for workarounds. Some used the app, others tablets, etc...
  18. Here is a more detailed thread on this topic...
  19. No, I have reserved in a different spot. Also, like I said, friends tried to book it last week but couldn't. So that is the excursion...shows reserved in upper left and sold out on the right. Here is another excursion I have reserved, but *not* sold out. As you can see, instead of "sold out" it has "reserve" on the right...
  20. Sold out. And we have friends who tried to book a week ago and couldn't because it was sold out.
