  1. I agree there is a lot of fluff but I found premium to still be of value because of the Multiple Wifi devices, 2 Specialty Dining per person and the unlimited casual dining ~ those are now $15 minimum per meal. Am I understanding this right? 15 drinks per day is plenty! ๐Ÿ˜œ Patty
  2. This is one of the incentives that swayed my decision to booked with Princess. Got a traditional (small) balcony on a brand new ship The Sun in Europe, many more premium perks, and its $2558 less than the Ascent with basic perks compared to similar itineraries and mid ship stateroom. Patty
  3. I haven't read through all the pages here and I'm sure this has been addressed. In Jan many of the same posters in this thread had very little empathy for those who were losing Free Room Service, Diminished Buffet Offerings and the limited Open Bar Options with Grand Cayman stops. This new change is why I was so supportive of those who felt robbed by those Cut Backs, I didn't personally need to eat in the buffet for dinner to know that this was a slippery slope and that Cel would eventually test the boundaries with Suite Class. I am now just as supportive to those of you who have paid for a service you feel robbed of. This isn't about a dollar figure or class level, this is about paying for what is advertised/promoted and then not receiving it, no matter how much or how little it may be. It's a shame that this is what cruising has come to. I have Celebrity sailings booked and I now also have booked with Princess, after many years I'm finally opening my eyes to other ships/lines. At this time so many cut backs are being made within all cruise lines that I am more focused on the destinations and port times because I still want to cruise and explore. I love being on the water. Sadly the vibe, food and amenities are non issue, they've taken a backseat in my planning. The cuts Celebrity has implemented has literally cut them from being my Go-To. This latest change isn't defendable, as weren't any of the others. Attacking each other and excusing Celebrity will only bring on more cuts in the future. Patty
  4. I was reluctant to try the IV based on this board. We honestly enjoyed it and talked with other cruisers who shared in our opinion. As with everything in life there is give and take... we have booked an IV again on 2 more sailings and changed a sailing from an aft bal to an IV. Trust me, many like the concept they just aren't here reporting to CC. Patty
  5. Agree, for me Le Voyage was a one and done. I also preferred the ambiance in Eden and Fine Cut. Patty
  6. I have cruised ~X~ with my teenaged sons. They had a great time on an older class ship. The pool on Beyond is fantastic and imo the best of the best when comparing between cruise ship class. Plenty of space to chill with family. I sailed in Feb and there were several kids onboard and they looked like they were having blast with family, tons of giggles and splashing about. Never heard any of them cry for a waterslide. Most tend to push RCCL for kids because of the amusement type vibe, my kids have enjoyed both. Just like adults different vacations bring different experiences. Some kids aren't thrilled to share slides with a zillion other kids, only you know what yours will enjoy. From reading your post, I can guarantee they'll have a great time in the ABC's, there will be plenty of areas for playing cards, the pool will be nice and refreshing and 100% without a doubt, in the month of June you will NOT be the only guests sailing with kids! What ever you choose, enjoy your family time! Patty
  7. I never saw a band playing back by RGG but there is a large screen, we enjoyed watching the Super Bowl. It can get windy, I was fine but others were annoyed. Patty
  8. Yes in any venue if a filet is an option that's what my DH will get, in Eden it was his fave of that sailing. It's in a pastry, more Wellington style. Fine Cut and Le Voyage are just steak on a plate. ๐Ÿ˜ Patty
  9. Sure... For us Le Voyage was a one and done. We didn't like the ambiance at all. My DH liked his steak but I was not happy with the Lobster dish, risotto wasn't creamy, kinda raw'ish. The bread was good, the rest was just okay. A lot of fuss with no real wow. I will admit ... I was shocked and I would 100% order the Raspberry Pavlova again. It was vegan and amazing! My DH had the chocolate cherry thingy, would never recommend that and it's very popular so as they say tastes are very subjective! Fine cut is exactly what we expect of a typical steakhouse and that is what we really like. Just fits our dining style. The steak sauces were all good. I had lobster and filet both delish! The sides were very nice and the salads were huge. The brownie sundae and cheesecake were both very very good! We feel like we are very simple eaters and sometimes the over the top presentations don't match the flavors we're expecting. We aren't real fans of the eclectic rage, sometimes it's a mix that doesn't work imo. Both of the venues are loud, didn't bother us at all in Fine Cut, we actually requested a seat over looking the martini bar. BUT in Le Voyage, every time the doors open it was weird to hear the burst of noise, I think they need to add a violinist in there to create a nicer vibe. We like to try all the options, Patty
  10. I'll share but only because you asked twice...๐Ÿ˜ RGG we liked the food, it was all fine. Nothing I'd rave about but we do have it booked for a few future sailings. I enjoy the ambiance more than the meal. I love to be outside especially when on a ship. The MDR just meets the need for us, the experience isn't my jam. My DH liked the steak but did not LOVE and he said his burger was super good. I thought the pork sliders were good and my seafood skewers were great. For dessert we both liked the S'mores Parfait. Eden we were not as blown as we expected to be. Yes we also have that booked again for future sailings... give it another try, maybe. The crab cake is raved about and I really didn't like it. I am an east coast girl and just want the simple old school crab cake without all the other added stuff. My husband said his filet was the best on the ship. As you can see there is a trend here. He is a MEAT MAN! I lean towards seafood, the shrimp was delicious, wish I had thought to order multiple and enjoy that as my meal. Also the mushroom risotto was so flavorful, it also could have been a delicious meal! I had the lemon tart and it was very good. My DH had the chocolate option, forget all the official names but for me it was too dense/rich! Fine Cut is our favorite on the Edge class ships and I will not return to Le Voyage... Patty
  11. I always blame my ๏ฃฟ device! ๐Ÿ˜ Patty
  12. Unlike the MDR menu changes and reduced buffet options, IMO this will be more difficult to roll back, they have given the control/power to the cruiser. Patty
  13. According to reports here: As of now it is an 8 week test on Eclipse and Equinox Patty
  14. I edited my previous post to give you the benefit of the doubt but we can clearly see that you want for us to tell you that when you show up to the MDR, regardless of the published dress code that your kids are going to be let in without issue. Simple put none of us here can tell you what you'll experience onboard. Patty
  15. Yes I have and kids wore pants! Including my own! Patty
  16. If you're aware and have read endlessly, why are you asking? Patty
  17. @Georgia_Peaches is onboard now and has confirmed that the "vaping allowed" sign is in the casino. Patty
  18. Have you sailed with Capt. Kate? Your thoughts? I have... But...And... I will be super careful here...I really don't get the hype for seeing her or Bug the cat. To be fair, I've never given a hoot about any of the cruise ship captains and I'm married to a man who is retired Navy, didn't care about his captains when on sea duty either ๐Ÿคช It was a sailing just like any other with any other captain, imo. It's great to see a female captain in 2023 but Beyond that, (pun inteneded ๐Ÿ˜‰) She navigated a ship and kept us afloat. No disrespect for her accomplishments, just curious. Patty
  19. Feb is fantastic in the Caribbean, I always sail in the first or second week of Feb! Patty
  20. The ship is very nice but I personally like to get to the beach, listen to the ocean and feel the sand! My husband will absolutely spend money on the fun things CocoCay has to offer and he'll pay for Specialty Dining to enjoy a good burger, I am beginning to think I am married to a 12 year old. ๐Ÿ˜ Patty
  21. Yep! ๐Ÿ˜Š I also feel they are seeking more LGBT which is also typically no children My son and his partner are 34 yrs old + making great money = a perfect fit for Celebrity and CocoCay. I see that Celebrity is reaching/aiming for younger not 'young" Patty
  22. Zitsky we are cool and you know I love your humor but on this topic I really don't follow? What countries are being pulled for CocoCay? I see people post daily that they don't want Jamaica, Grand Cayman or Nassau? So at this point, in the Caribbean, what do we want that is within a reasonable distance from Florida for a 4-7 day cruise? I understand many are concerned that this is a slippery slope to RCCL world... but sadly I believe it's inevitable. We have few choices, adapt/adjust or sail elsewhere or stop sailing. For me.... a private island it an easy port to avoid or make the best of... Patty
  23. I am so confused I never posted what you've quoted? The above quote/post was not written by me? Patty
