  1. If you bring your Senior citizen National Parks pass you can get into the Mendenhall visitors center at no cost. You can also use the Senior citizen National Parks pass at the Discovery Center in Ketchikan.
  2. Here's some information for you https://scootaround.com/en/cruise-scooter-rentals
  3. There’s a FREE shuttle bus that runs from Berth #4 over to the Creek street area and up to the Totem Heritage Center, but not out to Totem Bright state park. Here are a couple of links that might be of some interest. https://tomsportguides.com/uploads/5/8/5/4/58547429/ketchikan-02-26-2014.pdf https://www.visit-ketchikan.com/en/Getting-Around-Ketchikan/Ketchikan-Maps
  4. Normally it's the first full sea day and the last full sea day. I wouldn't really say it's all that formal.
  5. And where might your next destination be? You might be better off renting a car.
  6. Your fare is a round trip ticket. How are you going to get back if they did have a one way fare.
  7. Once I get on the ship what do I have to do to set up my phone for the shipboard Medallion Ap? I saw it here but now I can't find it.

    Gloves

We've been on 16 cruises to Alaska and we don't take gloves. We do take a warm hat.
  9. My wife bought a beautiful silver whale tail at a small jewelry store in Skagway. She wears it often. On a side note the place to buy your souvenirs and such is in Ketchikan at the Tongus trading company.
  10. In my past life I was a marine engineer and I find it very odd that these normally maintenance items where not addressed prior to the Crown being put back into service. It’s not like they just decided yesterday to put her back into service, they’ve had a lot of time to prepare.
  11. I think that Crown Princess will limp along this cruise season. The Grand class cruise ships are all electric. The Grand class cruises ship are powered by four 12,600-KW diesel generators and two 8,400-KW generators, making a total of 67,200 installed KW, that’s a lot of power boy and girls. Propulsion, that’s what pushes the ship through the water is done with two electric engines, one per shaft, developing 21 MW each. Currently the Crown Princess is having generator issues. I do find it rather odd that they are calling these problems "routine, scheduled overhaul or scheduled maintenance"
  12. I'm still glad we jumped ship and are going on the Discovery Princess. The $100 OBC and the 20% FCC is a nice gesture. I'll be following the Crown on her adventure. I think the ArriveCan is going to be a mess at Pier 91 as it seems that only people who know about ArriveCan are those of s on Cruise Critic. Our TA doesn't have a clue about it. I downloaded the Ap and I'm set to go.
  13. In the area around the Mt. Roberts Tram there will be a lot of kiosks with vendors selling different tours. Look for the Blue bus kiosk, it's run by M & M tours. If you have a National parks pass bring it it'll save you $5.
