  1. What are the fee's now to dine at the Crown Grill. Does anyone have a menu?
  2. We have a 11-11:30 boarding time next week at Pier 91. At Pier 91 in Seattle the PEL lounge is kind of a joke, just don't expect much and you'll be fine. Make sure you have everything you need to get on the ship. ArriveCan is the one everyone seems to be confused about.
  3. There's 90% chance you WON'T see Dawes Glacier up in Endicott Arm do to ice in the water. We've been up there many times and the ship will turn around before you reach the glacier. To see the glacier you need to take the small boat tour off the ship, they sell out fast. It's still enjoyable cruising up Endicott Arm.
  4. I like to go to the "Hanger on the Wharf" in Juneau. The beer is cold and the food is great. https://www.hangaronthewharf.com/ It's also fun to watch the sea planes take off and land just outside.
  5. I've been watching the slow progress of the Crown on and off since the first Alaska cruise of the season. She not setting any speed records, 18.8kn is around 21mph on land. Every now and then she slows way down. I think the biggest problem is she can't maintain a steady sped of 18 knots.
  6. Be careful with Curative testing. We each got a bill for $300 for our so called FREE test in September. We also had problems with Wal-greens.
  7. Are you staying at a hotel near the airport? If you are I recommend using Sound Mobile Diagnostics.https://soundmobilediagnostics.com/ He'll come to your hotel and give you the COVID test and give you the required test results. We are using his services again this year.
  8. Yes, when they stop at a photo op you can get off the bus
  9. I'd take the Link light rail to Westlake center from Sea-Tac and go over to my Airbnb and then have Seattle Express pick me up on cruise day for a ride over to Pier 91.
  10. It looks like a piece of blue rope about 18" long
  11. On our last cruise we got our medallions 10 days before we sailed. Our friends didn't get there medallions and they got theirs at the Pier.
  12. Where's your Airbnb located? Which Pier 66 or 91?
  13. I e-mailed Seattle Cruise park, asking about the valet parking etc. This was there reply: Hi Yes, we have changed our procedures this year to accommodate increased demand and keep the prices lower while costs skyrocket. The cars don't leave the lot during the week. We basically just park them all in lines for the week then space them out in a loading section for easy return the morning you arrive. The process is pretty easy. You just pull into the lot and we load the shuttles right up front where you pull in and then one of our valets will move the car. Then today I found out that the Seattle Pride festival parade is on June 26th the day we cruise. They are estimating that there will 500,000 people plus in attendance in and around the Seattle Center and in the downtown area . I'm thinking about canceling my reservation at the Seattle cruise park and catching the Princess shuttle from Sea-tac airport.
  14. We've parked there a lot over the years and I don't remember seeing a valet parking section. I think it was last year when we parked there a lady had paid extra for valet parking and they told her to park her car and the shuttle would pick her up at the back of her car, she was a little PO'd because there wasn't any valet parking. I'm fully capable of parking my car myself. I have a bit of a problem with someone driving my car and keeping the keys. I sent a message to Seattle Cruise Park about the valet parking.
  15. We use Sound Mobile Diagnostics https://soundmobilediagnostics.com/ he came to our hotel by Sea-tac airport and gave us the test and results in 15 minutes.
  16. I'd buy one if they didn't say "ALASKA" on the front or the back of them.
  17. Last week I was all Green on the Ap, life was good, I was happy. I upgraded to the newest version of the Ap last Sunday. I got changed to the YELLOW lane. I couldn't do anything on the Ap so I used the online version and I got into GREEN lane again, life is good and I'm happy. Today I go into the Medallion Ap and I'm again in the YELLOW lane and I'm pissed. I hate to say this but the Medallion Ap is a POS! I think I'm don with this crap.
  18. You'll have to contact him. It depends on where he has to go and how any people need to be tested.
  19. My TA didn't have a clue about ArriveCan until I told her all about it. I found out about having to fill out ArriveCan here on Cruise Critic. There is very little information on the Princess web site about it. I can see were it would be a mess at the cruise port on embarkation day. It's no big deal, takes just a few minutes.
  20. I recommend using Sound Mobile Diagnostics.https://soundmobilediagnostics.com/ He'll come to your hotel and give you the COVID test and give you the required test results. We are using his services again this year.
  21. Maybe this will help you https://www.portseattle.org/page/public-transit-link-light-rail
  22. I think you made the right decision. We moved over to the Discovery as soon I found out that the Crown had problems. By changing to the Discovery we got back around $800, a better cabin and the drink package. I would have canceled the whole cruise if we didn't have so many FCC to use up from canceled cruises due to COVID. We are fortunate enough to live in the Seattle so we don't have to fly.
  23. That is correct, the city bus will drop you off at the entrance to the Mendenhall park. It's a flat 1.5 miles walk on a paved walk to the visitor center from the entrance. The trail out to Nugget Falls is just to left of the visitor center, can't miss it. That path is a paved path, fairly flat. It'll be like a interstate freeway with people walking out to Nugget falls. Be sure to bring your senior National Park pass, it'll save you $5 on the bus ride should you use the White or Blue bus.
