  1. As an aside…. If one is a ‘drinker’ then in the town on Front Street, close to the ferry pier is GULMHORS who have a great selection of rare and top end bottles from Single Malts to Rum/Rhums. The return minivan from one’s visit will be happy to drop one off outside Gulmhors Then one has the choice to either take the sea ferry back to the ship, or another shared minivan from many who ply their trade down Front Street. Taxi fare will be only $3/4 pp
  2. Pre COVID At the taxi point at port, there used to be a facility where the cab captain arranged for a shared minivan taxis to be fully loaded before departing to one destination. Where pax were charged pp not per cab. Identical to the organisation in Barbados, St Kitts etc. Never taken, but could be worth an ask when there….
  3. One will not recommend it, but many on CC love it for the price. Okay, let’s give facts about the $2/2.50alleged public bus (private minivan- aka Jintys) Off ferry at Midtown, down pier, walk to main road (Front Street) turn left down Front Street, turn 1st right, walk down side street, at main T junction you’ll meet Back Street, search up and down Back Street for a Jinty with a sign in windscreen for the required destination, board, wait until full before departing. Journey will encompass on/off main roads, stopping to drop people off and pick-up. On arrival at destination agree where the best Jinty pickup point is for regular passing Jintys for return destination. Returning one has to stand at the pickup point, view from distance/search the windscreens of approaching Jintys for the destination sign required, flag down the Jinty, which may not stop if full. Repeat until one stops, board. Arrive at destination (Back Street) Note the time taken to arrive, from the time one left the ship, walked to ferry, queued, paid, queued, boarded, sailed etc.. to destination. Then allow an extra 30 minutes minimum for the return journey for flagging down and heavy port traffic.
  4. To Waterfall From Soufreire say 15 minutes From Castries say 90 minutes
  5. One will only comment on taxis…. The shared minivan charge is about $10 pp (plus tip) each way, with youngsters either free or $5 (plus tip) each way depending on age. But the whole van of 9/10 pax has to agree on the return time, and sometimes this leads to arguments, because some want differential or a very early return time. [everyone is different and some are just total AHs] - Make sure Tatem’s know the actual number of pax. For privacy, convenience, price and no angst take the $80
  6. Or a fat gratuity for blocking or a quiet word removal….. This will be more enjoyable as a spectator sport. 😉
  7. It used to be Kim Sha but no recent knowledge. Whatever it is, it’ll be cheap for the Cruise Line and expensive for Cruisers. Book Coco or Rainbow for beds/lunch/drinks/day to avoid disappointment
  8. Agreed. Cunard have a spend ratio problem, which they are trying to address, but finding difficult. Hence why the Anne is seen to be a potential solution (hopefully).
  9. Obviously, one’s rationale is very strong to be so committed to an immediate removal action, so to not even consider an apology.
  10. Very interesting thread. Because the OP is correct… It’s been scheduled for some time by Executives. About 8 years ago, had a discussion with a Cunard representative who admitted my DW and I were not going to live forever, and to replace our annual spend, Cunard would have to recruit 10/12 Millennials per year. And as Millennials are not great repeaters, then Cunard will have to work hard to have a new stream of revenue.
  11. Plenty of official taxis…… For a 5/7 hour private tour, work on $250/300 for the whole taxi. Driver will confirm price on one stating the full itinerary.
  12. Excellence operate with a genteel Cat… https://discoverantiguabarbuda.com/excellence-catamaran/ However, for those wanting an adrenaline rush, Xtreme offer a speed boat tour https://bestantigua.com/tours/xtreme-circumnavigation-powerboat-tour
  13. Consider a private tour… https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/encantoboattours/items/384903/calendar/2023/03/?full-items=yes&back=https://www.encantoboattours.com/&a=yes They also offer shorter private trips.. Other operators are available….
  14. Something difficult but much better? Catherine’s Café…. Book lunch/stay in advance
  15. One is always generous with discreet gratuities to all parts on a land stay. With regard to cruising, it is what it is, so we just leave the daily in place and spread a little sunshine.
  16. Contact Captain Sunshine for availability on open air tours
  17. Contact Island Safari Tours for itineraries and bookings.
  18. Think best to telephone, speak to a manager in bookings. Tell them one was declined a day pass when booking direct, but can book via Resort Pass. Ask for their help as one wishes to spend the day with them.
  19. About 1.25 hours there and 1.50 hours back…. Taxi say $100 e/w including tip.
  20. Personally, if no Coco then one would definitely take Rainbow over Bikini….it’s a no contest. Shabby Chic and then some….
  21. Recommendations Links to assist https://www.rainbowcafesxm.com Menu. https://www.rainbowcafesxm.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Menu-Lunch-_-Dinner-.pdf https://www.cocobeach.restaurant Menu. https://www.cocobeach.restaurant/menu/lunch If websites are down, then just telephone, they will be pleased to hear from one. Anyway it’s good to talk….. Both restaurants will be happy to go “off menu” for one’s bespoke dining experience With regard to the return cab, the outward driver will be pleased to be re-booked for a timed return, where one can ask for minor detour, for which the driver will probably agree foc. There was “La Bonne Baguette” in Phillipsburg - But never tried - Look on Trip Advisor Good luck…
  22. This will surely attract a new batch of recruits to the current army of Towels.
  23. Never heard of one, but it’s only a short couple of rides and official cab prices are regulated.
