Sounds like the move was not your choice, and definitely NOT a good move vis a vis motion of the ocean but perhaps some view of the ocean made up for the increased motion and definitely better than having the sea come crashing in on you. Roy

I'm wondering if this early departure is even possible in many cases. With Celebrity Apex Class ships docking in the Intercostal Waterway and many HAL ships using terminals 26 and 29 I suspect HAL ships will often be unable to get out of the port until Celebrity leaves. Roy

That was a tough fall for the Symphony. After the TA she did several New England and Canada trips and at one time broke down in Montreal with about a 2-day delay leaving and the final blow was Superstorm Sandy and missing the turnaround port of New York. Just glad I had a very resourceful TA. Roy

Not quite sure what you're suggesting but I have my doubts. If the idea is to take Amera to Fort Lauderdale, I expect Amera's Captain might object, and I don't think you would want to sail to Bremerhaven and miss the World Cruise. If you get a chance to look down from Zaandam's top deck, do check out the new Beer Garden where the Lido Pool used to be. Roy

You and @nancygp are both correct. I think I also remember that was the cruise where @Out2See was onboard as a lecturer but due to the extra sea day we got treated to the world premiere of "Character Man". @TRIPACIAN you are correct also. There were 3 ships in Grand Turk that day with dock space for 2. Nieuw Amsterdam had the first priority because their parent owns the port, and we got the second dock space probably because Serenity had azipods and Dynamic positioning while we didn't, so Serenity had to tender.
