Just off Enchantment this past Saturday, while she is an older ship I think she is aging gracefully. That being said, I did not notice anything in grave disrepair nor did I look for it. I agree with the OP that the ship's crew is the backbone of Royal Caribbean. Most of those I met and spent time with were salt of the earth, good people. All that being said, having just had our first Diamond cruise I think it's time to see what else is out there. NCL, MSC, and Princess all have a variety of perks that seem to be paving the way for a new generation of cruising while Royal continues down the path of nickel and diming for every last thing. As an aside, one night in the Crown Lounge I was speaking with the Hotel Director and I said I was a big fan of the cruise boards. He rather resignedly or agrievedly said, Cruisecritic?" I had to laugh but them implored him on behalf of all Royal cruisers that we'd like to see morning and evening room service back. To be fair, he took our cabin numbers and seemed truly interested in our thoughts. Royal is aware so it doesn't hurt to express your experiences.

Let me see if I’m understanding this right, the majority of respondents would be perfectly happy having $50 OBC when you once had $200. Interesting. Well you are much better people than I am. This past September my brother, his wife, and me were scheduled to cruise Alaska on Radiance of the Seas. The cruise was ultimately cancelled after the ship hit ice (in Alaska, go figure 😉) and the propulsion system was damaged. RCCL was extremely generous in returning all monies and offering an FCC towards another cruise. We were told, in writing, all OBC would be transferred to the cruise. Due to the tremendous price increases our FCC wouldn’t cover the cost of the balcony cabins we had on Radiance and downgraded to Ocean View cabins on Enchantment next month. I called several weeks ago to have my Alaska OBC (which was a Next Cruise credit) applied to my Enchantment cruise and was told that because I now had an Ocean View and not a balcony my Next Cruise credit would be $50 instead of $100. As you can imagine, this did NOT go over well with me because 1. RC canceled the original cruise and 2. The crazy price increases, I felt like I was being penalized. My story has a happy ending because after escalating my call I was given a $50 “were nice” courtesy credit to make up the difference. My bro and SIL, not so much. Fast forward to this week, my bro called and went through the same song and dance I went through and was told because of the Next Cruise cabin difference they were only due $50 OBC total (out of $100 per person or $200 total). He remained calm and polite, asked to escalate the call and was told again that $50 was all they could do AND that Next Cruise had made a mistake by giving them both $100 OBC for the ill-fated Alaskan cruise. He asked to escalate the call again and was told he’d get a call back within 48 hours. I told him to contact Mike Bayley which he did with ALL the details, including mine, and now he waits. My question is, if they are told again that $50 out of $200 OBC is the “best” RC can do, is there any other recourse? RC cancelled the original Alaska cruise which was disappointing enough but having to deal with the higher prices AND this OBC fiasco is enough to say adios to RC. For what it’s worth the Alaska cruise was to be our first Diamond cruise. Thanks for your input!

I was on Harmony of the Seas and the cruise director came on the tannoy (love that word!) in cabin one late afternoon to announce, he regretted to inform us that Columbus, The Musical was canceled that evening. We hung on his every word until Columbus, The Musical. We were pretty sure he was going to regret his choice to make the announcement "in cabin". 😜

I googled "Allure of the Seas" and entered your cabin number. There was a picture of cabin 11456 and 11549 that show a double bed and a sofabed. I hope this is helpful!

We traveled with a group of 13. We had two tables but made sure to visit the MDR upon boarding to confirm the tables/set up. Also, we told our waiters when some, none, or all of us would be there. Tables for 10 are at a minimum so make sure you have your arrangements in place!

Have you tried Googling your room #? Usually you can find pictures of the room online. If you can live with the obstruction, that would be one less worry before your trip. Best of luck!

My Mom, husband, and their two friends are also on board. As they all are considered "elderly", my first hope was that it wasn't any of them (although they are mobile and have their faculties about them). My Mom waited too long to purchase the internet package and it was too expensive to justify. Now I wish she had it! Oh well, no news is the best news! ❤️

I'm a big fan cigars (the smell of) and scotch/bourbon/whiskey. If you're sitting outside, I'd flag down a roving waiter and tell him your plan. I had no issue with ordering a second drink after finishing the first one. If you're asking because you'd like to order a drink then get a second drink for someone else, I'd advise against that as I'm a rule follower and would hate to ruin the fun for other people who follow the rules. That being said, you did in NO WAY intimate that was the case but I thought I'd throw my two cents in. As I said first, I never had any issue with a second drink after the first. Not sure about the floater but find yourself a great bartender, tip with cash, and I'm sure they'll make it happen!

Grandeur of the Seas was in Key West earlier this week. Virgin's Scarlet Lady is there today. I check out the port cam most days to see what's happening all over the US cruise ports. I lead a bit of a dull life. 😆

I had a blue screen at night with the handrail. I thought I'd also have the night view and sunrise, I kept the Bridge Cam TV on all night which was much better. I'd speak to guest services then send an email after your trip regarding the "snow". I had some issues with my virtual balcony and RC graciously refunded a small amount.

Sorry folks, I already timed out the server trying to research this question and the internet wasn't any specific help! I prefer canned soda and my last cruise I had the UDP and had no problem getting canned soda. I'm traveling in September 2023 to Alaska on Radiance and was wondering if the Refreshment Package or Soda Package would also include canned soda? Y'all are the best help! Thank you. 😍
