  1. Pretty obvious, you would not change the name unless you were going to kick the diamonds out. Unless they go back to the old rules of you can have as many drinks as you like in the now “crown” lounge it doesn’t really matter now that there are vouchers. I, personally, don’t see what this gains for them. The diamonds still get their 4 free drinks, they just don’t get to sit with us in the small lounges full of old people. I guess this is a win for someone, but I don’t really see it.
  2. Yeah, you all need to realize you are on a tiny bit of land surrounded by aliens every single day. Sometimes you all fight amongst yourself, oblivious to the previous. Scares the heck out of me worrying about you. JMHO and I pray for you, which I never do, every day.
  3. Is Texas Roadhouse sponsoring you now, Jimbo? That is a lot of plugs for a bad chain restaurant. I am not saying the Ribeye isn’t pretty good, but the Texas Roadhouse experience is pretty dang sad. JC
  4. I absolutely do not. They charge you for a bad cake, and they sing happy birthday to you, like Tarzan, frankenstein and Tonto…. SNL when it was funny. I truly hate it, and have avoided it for years now. For any special occassion. I am more likely to tell the bartenders…. 😆
  5. Potatoes/noodles, both carb full I just stopped by for the first time in weeks, to say, I hope everything and everyone in Dani’s life is well. JC<———— worried
  6. I miss Portofino, are there any ships with that as still an option? I guess I have never heard or attended Giovanni’s kitchen, where was that which ships? Portofino was the best. Giovanni’s (table) close second. Jamie’s Italian a distant third. We had UDP on the Anthem TA this April, and we ate a lot of lunches at Jamies. I like Jamies, we bonded with the small staff like you can’t at our other restaurant go to, Chops. So, from an enjoy the service, Jamie’s. From an enjoy the food view, Chops. This is only on the Anthem Q class. JMHO and YMMV jc
  7. Giovanni’s every single time. On ships where those are the two choices, and we have UDP…. We eat at Giovanni’s 3-2 to one. Menu is more varied for those not wanting a steak. The steaks are more similar than different. The other options have way more at Giovanni’s. I like them both. If it is just one time, they are both great. Chops is a bit more the signature restaurant, feel like they would like to have Giovanni’s go away for all of the reasons that I prefer G’s. JC
  8. Have been to the UK many times, barely in Wales though, but most everywhere else. Folks from the UK seem to identify by their traditional nationality, IE Welsh, Scot, Irish, etc. When someone identifies themselves are British they are telling me, I am NOT ENGLISH. By the way, I own a 2 year old Welsh Terrier (3rd one of those and this one is going to break me of that trend!). JC
  9. Yup…. I kept looking for the FlowRider and the good entertainment on Princess, never found either.😆
  10. Saying Princess is the high end of Carnival, I can buy, but then lumping RC into that, is just nuts. Princess and RC are much more alike than Celebrity and Princess. JMHO and YMMV
  11. Yeah, just you!🤣 I think we have got it. You are British, you are sailing with kids in a small room, and since you have responsibilities you don’t appreciate people going full party mode. I am not British, and I don’t go full party mode, and I don’t appreciate those things as well. Obnoxious people exist from everywhere. Some of them are on cruises, some on airplanes, some at hotels, some at bars, some post on the internet, and some at theme parks. Painting by nation with broad brushes is silly…. JMHO and YMMV jc
  12. I think for solo where you can buy 1, makes more sense for almost everyone. That said, the lunch and other stuff are not the reasons for me. It is always the FlowRider, the key gives you an hour of low attendance FlowRiding, that can be at times you don’t want to be on the FlowRider. I have actually skipped a key session, because the weather was marginal. That totally screws the math. If you are going to buy the internet package and the Key is close to the same price buy the key. Usually, it is not. Then don’t buy the key. If you are a die hard FlowRider and the weather should be good and you want the internet buy the Key. If the weather could be iffy, and you don’t want the internet. Get a group from the FlowRider to buy an hour on the wave in the evening or the early morning. Yoda 😇
  13. So, how many days is your Adventure sailing? 7? If so, I suspect there will be a single hour, and it will be either at the beginning of the day or the end of the day. those seem to be the Key times. Since, I will no longer need the internet for work on my next sailing, probably no more key for me. They might do two. If you whine, I have seen them give additional key time, specifically on the Adventure. Larry Faiss, who went from marginal skill to awesome skill in a year sailing a lot convinced the Adventure staff that we didn’t get enough time as the Key. On my last sailing on the Anthem during the spring TA, we got 3 sessions, it was cold as heck at all of them, and the wave was wide open. Unfortunately, unless you find a Unicorn there are no good times to find an empty FlowRider. When it is less full it is probably freezing cold (low 50s and raining). They don’t operate below 50 or when the winds are really strong. Good to hear from you Dave….
  14. That will not make the other people in line happy, much like Star class getting to go more often than the others waiting in line. It would make me buy the key, just so I didn’t have to wait. I have bought the key several times, but work was paying for half of it for the internet, next cruise I will be retired not sure how much internet I need…
  15. So we have done UDP a few times, and we do specialty restaurants on formal night most of the time. I can’t say that I have had that experience. Yes it is busier some nights than others, and maybe more so on formal night, but the experience in the specialty restaurants is always less fun than the best nights in the MDR, the wait staff in the MDR is more fun. The food is always better it is always calmer in the specialty restaurants. I have avoided the MDR since the changes, but I am pretty sure we will go back next May on the Voyager for most meals. So, I hope they have ironed out the kinks. The MDR is more open to conversations with other guests and staff, so, while the food may not be awesome it probably is a better experience overall. Of course, I go to dinner to enjoy the food not chat… so… jc
  16. LB, were you able to book for nights other than 1 or 2? I would always prefer to spread them out. jc
  17. Jimbo, if I do dinner by myself it will be in the Windjammer because dinner is about the DW, even though if she was single it would be cereal in bed. I am just not going to deal with the effort on my own. I have had dinner alone on a ship when they have an evening flowrider session, and we had a dinner booked, but that was with friends and she ate with them. I always just go to the WJ or the Solarium if I am on a ship with that, and eat in 15 minutes. jc
  18. Thanks Orville that is good advice, since I am trying to plan a B2B2B. I was wondering if they were ever going to do UDP for these sailings and the first cruise the one I would most appreciate it (15 night TA) it is not even offered. It is offered on the next 10 night sailing at a 30% discount and then on the following 7 night at a 25% discount. With the second two sailings being heavily port intensive, I am not sure I would appreciate the UDP on these because I know from past cruises in the Med you are often exhausted after a long day of tours. jc
