  1. I don’t mind helping! I arrive home from my trip two days before you leave so the timing is perfect. I have another wedding to go to the following weekend (Friday-Monday) so I’m not sure if it will interfere, or not. I believe you do it weekly so I’m guessing it shouldn’t interfere?
  2. The prices are the same after you board. The nice thing about ordering them onboard is that you can get recommendations or ask for a taste so you can choose which package suits you better. You’ll also find out if they still have the specified wine or if they’ve had to substitute. Sorry, but I had to answer all your questions within your post. You will need to expand it in order to see them. Welcome to Holland America!
  3. We took a verandah on the starboard side so I could maintain a cool room for sleeping. A cabana in The Retreat took care of our sun fix.
  4. We are just off the Koningsdam and the fridge kept our water super cold!! I was impressed.
  5. WOW. I am so sorry to see that response. Sounds like one of their staff made off with some bevvies thinking you wouldn’t notice. It’s not as if you’re going to stay on hold for hours to save $35. It’s also a principle thing. Their response is disappointing.
  6. I’m guessing omission but would really like to know definitively. You could speculate that it’s because the itinerary is less than 16 days but that would be guessing. Just like we’re guessing that we do have to test or we do not have to test. It’s a mystery. 🤷‍♀️ 😂 It sure is going to be a mess at boarding time.
  7. Oh wow. Did I ever misread that. I thought you were referring to the COVID testing and thought “I thought we didn’t have to do COVID testing!” Phew! 😂
  8. We almost did! We changed the date of our river cruise so it had a domino affect on the 150th. We’re now doing the Greek Odyssey leaving on the 10th. I’m still sad I’m missing the 150th!
  9. Our results were emailed within a couple of minutes of completion of the process. Appointment time began at 10:15pm and we had our results at 10:28pm. There were two of us testing but you are allowed up to four. Purchase price was $18.04/pp when you include the 5% discount code for subscribing. Once the purchase goes through you will be able to choose the date and time. An email will be sent with a zoom link and confirming the appointment. Within that email is another link for patient registration. When you have submitted the registration questionnaire you will receive a text with the confirmation #. The tech will ask you for that number at the start of your appointment. We had a very friendly and helpful tech who provided clear instruction to make the whole process simple. Editing to add: Oh, sorry! I just realized you may be asking about the Barcelona Airport testing and not OnPoint!
  10. There were no slippers in our Neptune Suite on the Koningsdam, last week, and I kept forgetting to ask for some.
  11. If we ever get the chance to meet up I’d love to chat! @sunviking90, I forgot to give you the phone # for Reservations Accounting/Onboard Billing: 888-663-5384
  12. Success!! And let’s just say it was worth the hours of frustration. Aww, but if it weren’t for us masochists you wouldn’t be able to post about how blessed you are to be in the know while the rest of us poor beleaguered souls struggle through our bad fortune! 😭 Try: Reservation_Accounting@hollandamerica.com and/or Onboardbilling@hollandamerica.com Good luck!
  13. Thanks. I called 800.355.3017. Someone picked up not longer after and transferred me to someone else, who picked up about 15 minutes later and then transferred me to a pricing specialist. From there I waited. And waited. And waited. I’ll try again later.
  14. I like sparkling wine. I have had good and bad sparkling wine. Wycliff’s California Champagne is, hands-down, the worst sparkling wine I have ever had in my life. Sparkling? No. It was flat. Snobbery? No. I like sparkling wine. Disgruntled? Yes. Don’t replace decent sparkling wine with garbage.
  15. Oh, thanks. I thought they opened at 8am Pacific so that’s when I called, right on the dot. Going to try again right before they close. If they’re trying to chase away revenue, they’re doing a good job! 🙃
  16. Aw, crumbs. My husband just jumped into call-waiting and now the call with Holland America has dropped. Shoot. I thought they had actually picked up when I heard the beep! 😂
  17. I have now been on hold with Holland America for 4.5 hours. Last night I was on hold for 20+ minutes before a pricing specialist picked up. We got one sentence in, each, before the line went dead. I called back and the office was closed. The dropped call was either by mistake or convenience, but I will never know. I left a message for a callback but haven’t received one thus far. I have written to Guest Services pleading my case, as this is in addition to the lack of response prior. At this point it has become a game. Has anyone ever had someone pick up after being on hold this long?
  18. See THIS POST. It is labeled as California Champagne but we all know it’s not actually from Champagne. Ergo, fake. The champagne in the lounge was the kind we used to receive in the Neptune Suites. It was actually from the Champagne region of France; not California.
  19. Sustainable water bottles are fine. They let me bring on an empty plastic water bottle, no problem. They just won’t let you bring on a case of them, like people were doing in the past, as they need to comply with an environmental waste order. The water in the room is perfectly fine. If you want to order bottled or canned water they are available under “Cruise Activities” “Beverages”.
  20. Last week boarding HAL, Vancouver Alaska Return, they wanted to see the completed VerifFLY. (You can only get a green okay if you submit the ArriveCAN QR code receipt.) Once onboard there was a paper form in the room requesting your ArriveCAN receipt # to be filled in and left with your room steward or taken to Guest Services.
  21. Here is the machine which was on the Koningsdam last week. The way to get a less stronger brew is to hit the button again, after the first cycle, and it will add hot water. Was rather puzzled at the comment that the machine in the lounge was complicated as it couldn’t be simpler. Place a cup in the circle and press “Americano” or “Latte” or whatever your heart desires. The coffee is ground and out it comes to perfection.
